The three Eastern Kingdoms & Beyond:

o Shobu is located in the north – it is mountainous and barren.

o Moutan is in the middle – it is wealthy due to grain production

o Keungang is in the south – and is known as the Southern Lake Kingdom as it is covered with rivers, lakes, and waterways

o Kazarus is to the West – it is a desert kingdom

o Beyond Kazarus is the Euridican Empire (the setting for 'The Eastern Tower' which isn't out yet)

Cultivation Levels:

- Divided by 3 realms: Mortal, Immortal, Celestial

- Mortal: this covers Qi condensation and foundation establishment

In Moutan, the era name changes every 5 years.

1st Era: Yongming – Perpetual Brightness

Years 1 to 5: 1452 to 1456

2nd Era: Tianji – Heavenly Discipline

Years 6 to 10: 1457 to 1461

3rd Era: Fusang – Mourning

Years 11 to 15: 1462 to 1466

Note: due to the war the era is renamed to Huian – Gloomy

4th Era: Fangbei – Defend Against Sorrow

Years 16 to 20: 1467 to 1471

Note: the story starts in 1471

5th Era: Yingyong – Valiance
