Trapped (Collector AU)

Author's Note: Call this a little test.

I may want to do a full story of this AU (when compared to other AUs of mine, this has the most straight forward narrative to tell).

But, that story will have to come at a later time. I'm trying to focus on De-Evo's rework and its sequel.

 Enjoy!

 Cub's POV:

My tail twitched as I leaned my head against the small shack. The electric fence that surrounded the shoddy build buzzed and crackled every so often. I flinched as the collar that was bound to my neck vibrated.

I let out a soft, tired growl as I lolled my head to the side. Even though I didn't attempt to get through the fence, it sure felt like I did.

 Why...

I thought to myself as I looked up at the electrical grid.

 Why did this happen?

" C-Cub?" Ren whimpered causing my ears to perk up.

Right. I forgot that he was on my lap.

I looked down at Ren as he awkwardly angled his head upwards in order to look at me. Ren's tail weakly twitched as he tried to reach out to me.

" Cub.... It hurts..." Ren let out a soft whimper as his hand lowered. I nodded my head as I ran my hand through Ren's long hair, " I know bud.... I tried my best..." I mumbled. Ren twitched his ears as he brought his dog legs closer to himself.

A small, sad smile came across my face. My ears lowered as I continued to pet Ren's head until he was fast asleep.

That's it Ren.... Sleep off the pain.

Honestly, I should sleep too, but I don't know when our kidnapper will be back.

I sighed as I looked up at the cave ceiling.

Hopefully, Zedaph got away before he was captured. He was with us when it happened, after all....

I think... I think that that's what happened, anyways. The weird, horrible, and throbbing pain that was spreading across my whole body was.... distracting.... to say the least.

Speaking of the pain, I rolled up my sleeve and looked at the blotchy marks that crawled up my arm and across the rest of my body. The multi-colored bruises throbbed and glowed with a strange kind of pink magic. Maybe if I didn't move anymore, then the pain would go away completely.

But, unfortunately, I really should try and see what's beyond the barrier. It may've hurt Ren when he walked up to it; however, we really need to see what's beyond it. Maybe, due to me not having metallic limbs, I'll be able to get closer.

My ears twitched as I slowly moved Ren off of my leg. Ren's ears twitched as he let out a soft whimper. Gently, I patted Ren on the head. Thankfully, he didn't wake up.

Slowly, I walked over to the electric fence and flinched as the electricity caused my fur and hair to stand up. I flinched as a sudden pain panged in my leg.

Don't stop now, Cub... You're so close.

A low growl forced its way out of my throat as I narrowed my eyes.

The pain in my legs was growing worse as I struggled to see past the blurring barrier. If I had my glasses, then this would be a quick and easy thing to do.

But, despite the blurriness, I could make out some things:

A cage, something dangling from the ceiling, and two statues standing beside each other.

The cage, which was the closest to me, was empty. No electric fence, barely any items within it, and it seemed to be fairly new.

My tail twitched as I let out a shaky breath. When I tried to look towards the rest of the room, my head began to throb.

I let out a strained sound as I put my hand to the front of my head.

 Crreeeaaaaaaaaak!

 KERCHUNK!

I flinched and took a step back at the sound of a mechanical door opening. The hair on the back of my neck stood up as I lowered myself to the ground as a strange, cloaked figure entered the room while dragging something behind it.

Everything continued to ache as the figure trudged over to the cage. When they got close enough, I took notice of the white lab coat and the strange shoes. Honestly, it looked like the person wasn't comfortable wearing shoes to begin with.

A low hum came from our kidnapper as they took the bag off of the person. My eyes widened as my breaths quickened.

 No.

 No!

" S-Scar..." I whispered causing the cloaked figure to look towards me. Immediately, I inched backwards as my clawed hands dug into the stone ground. I let out a low growl as the figure shook their head.

I continued to watch as the figure dragged Scar into his prison and draped his limp, injured body against the wooden chest. Scar's face twitched as his chest slowly rose and fell with his breathing.

After Scar had been placed down and a collar strapped to his neck, the kidnapper stepped out of the cage and stomped the ground with his shoe. As soon as the person's foot hit the ground, the electric fence sealed itself.

The being then began to walk towards me. I narrowed my eyes as I watched the person's shoe fell off of their foot. A low growl rumbled through my throat as the person began to walk towards me.

 Click.

 Tap.

 Click.

 Tap.

My ears twitched with each footstep until the kidnapper stopped in front of mine and Ren's cage. Slowly, I rose from the ground as my tail lowered. It was then that I realized that this person was actually shorter than me.

Which begged the question on how they managed to drag Scar, Ren, and myself to this place to begin with.

" Glad to see you awake, Cubfan." The kidnapper spoke with their muffled voice. I let out a low growl as I crossed my arms. Despite the growing pain, I continued to stand and stare the person down.

" W-Who are you?" I questioned as my throat began to hurt now, " W-Why did you drag us here?"

The hooded being tilted their head, " Blimey. Do you not recognize me?" the being asked. I narrowed my eyes but remained silence.

Why should I recognize the person that kidnapped me?

A soft sigh came from the person as they pulled their hood off and-

" You?!" I snarled as I instinctually tried to gra-

 BZZZT!

My whole body shot back and to the ground. Strong, violent jolts of electricity coursed through my body like I was a lightning rod.

" Oh Cub, that was real stupid of you."

Weakly, and with my body still shaking from the shock, I looked up towards the sheep hybrid.

 Zedaph.

 Zedaph. Zedaph. Zedaph.

" You're lucky that your magic can heal you naturally." Zedaph took a clipboard out of his long coat and jotted down some information. The hybrid then looked back down at me, " On top of that, you don't have any metallic limbs. So that doubles the speed of your healing."

Zedaph almost seemed proud about this bit of information.

My tail thrashed as I tried to fight through the pain of the shock and other pains from before. Eventually, I managed to sit myself up.

" Why... doing this?" I forced out as I coughed elbow and flinched at the buzzing in my ear. Zedaph frowned slightly as his hoof tapped against the floor. The sheep hybrid then shrugged,

" To keep you all safe, of course! Who knows if something like the moon could happen again." Zedaph expressed as his ears lowered.

 I narrowed my eyes.

I didn't believe a single word that was coming out of his mouth.

" R-Right.... Right....." My voice slurred slightly as he put my hand to the side of my head again. The throbbing pain was at its peak as I groaned. Zedaph seemed to notice this.

" Well, I'm going to leave you too. I need to plan the next rescue and clean the statues." Zedaph explained as he clapped his hands together. I nodded my head as Zedaph turned and began to walk away.

My ears twitched as I cleared my throat, " Wait...."

Zedaph's sheep ears perked up as he glanced back at me, " Yes?" his pink and yellow eyes glowed as he tilted his head.

I flinched then let out a shaky breath, " Before you go, tell me this.... Who else have you 'rescued'?" I tilted my head. Zedaph's tail twitched slightly as he briefly glanced around the room.

The hermit then looked back towards me, " You, Ren, Scar, Pearl, Tango and Impulse." he pointed around the room. Then, a small smirk crawled across his blank expression, " And Keralis...."

Suddenly, multiple lights began to flicker on. Even with my blurred vision, I could make out Pearl's body tied up in chains that were connected to the ceiling.

Beside Pearl, but on a pedestal, there was a pair of strange statues that glowed with a strange, pink-ish blue hue:

The wooden statue, Tango, would briefly glow a bright red before immediately turning color to match the pink-ish blue color.

Meanwhile, Impulse, the crystal statue, didn't change color in the slightest and only remained a dormant purple.

Were they even in there? Were they even alive?

 Where was Keralis?

" Have a good time, Cub... I'll return in a few hours with food." Zed waved with a smile.

Before I could ask where Keralis was at, Zedaph quickly disappeared through a hidden door with the happy clicks of his hoofsteps accompanying him.

I frowned as I sluggishly turned away from the front of the cage. My body was still recovering from all the pain as I worked my way back over to Ren. Thankfully, my friend was still fast asleep.

My tail twitched as I sat down in my original spot and leaned my head against the shoddy shack. I sighed as Ren let out a soft murmur as he crawled back onto my lap. Ren's tail twitched as he softly snored.

" I'll tell you about all this when you wake up, Ren." I whispered as I closed my eyes. My ears lowered as I let out a sigh and tried to sleep for a little bit.

----------------------------------------

Everyone's Condition (Order of capture):

Tango:

1st captured. He and Impulse were meeting with Zed for his 'Stuck it with a bucket challenge'. Was given a piece of wood that turned him into a statue.

Impulse:

2nd captured. He and Tango were meeting with Zed for his 'Stuck it with a bucket challenge'. Given a piece of amethyst that turns him into a statue.

They are both still conscious within their prisons but are in a dream-like state.

Keralis:

3rd captured. His powers are used to keep Tango and Impulse (primarily Tango) from breaking free from confinement. He's floating within a strange tube of goo with wires and other things in his body.

Cub:

4th captured. Caught at the same time as Ren. Locked within the dog cage with a shock collar on. Helps Ren move out and helps him remove his prosthetic limbs.

Ren:

5th captured. Caught at the same time as Cub. Locked with a dog cage with a shock collar on. In a lot of pain, due to touching the electric fence (metallic limbs made pain worse).

Pearl:

6th captured. She was trying to find out what happened to Impulse and Tango. She managed to find Zedaph's collection room before she was knocked out.

She's been dangled upside down. Nothing much.

Scar:

7th captured. Helped Zedaph with the longest death message achievement. Then, he was told to go through a different portal in order to get to Zed's base faster.

Before he could even go through the portal, he was instead hit with another rocket and imprisoned in an electric cage. Zedaph uses his magic in order to build fortifications around the base (plant, elven magic that disorientates people upon getting close).
