Time (Oc Oneshot)

Author's Note: A oneshot that isn't actually fanfiction. Huh. How cool is that? Though, this story isn't actually canon to anything either. It's just a fun thing that I've decided to do.

 Enjoy!

 ???'s POV:

For as long as I've been alive, I've never seen any other human or humanoid.

I've been to villages where animal villagers and their iron golems exist. Recently, I've found a village that seemed to be abandoned. But, unlike other abandoned villagers, this one still had animals and a strange lack of zombified villagers.

Now, I've returned back to my cabin in a permanently frozen forest. Sadly, I wasn't able to finish my cabin before the big snow storm struck, but I was able to set up a small kitchen and bedroom.

My grey tail twitched as I paced back and further.

I need to go out and find some cows. Unfortunately for me, there hasn't been a single cow in the area since I found the first one.

" I'm heading out for a couple of days to find some coal and some cows." I turned to face my two pet dogs: One Bone and Two Bone. The two pups whined at me.

" You'll be fine on your own... I've prepared plenty of meat for the two of you, and besides, if you're hungry, you can kill some of the sheep." I motioned towards the sheep pen. The two dogs looked at each other and nodded.

My tail twitched as I nodded, " Good. Good. Trust me, this journey will be worth it." I smiled softly, " I can feel it."

After gathering the rest of my materials, including a bed roll, some wood, a campfire, and some food, I looked towards the front door of my base. Softly, I let out a sigh as I pulled my hood over my head and scarf over my mouth.

Ever since I entered these woods, the daytime sun had seemed to burn into my flesh and caused black spots and purple wisps to appear. Now, I have to be careful outside.

Hopefully, the sun won't bother me too much... Hopefully.

" Goodbye you two. Make sure that no husks or skeletons attack our home." I nodded my head as my two companions both nodded in response. Once I said goodbye, I left my house and flinched.

Even through the clouds and snow, I can feel the sun beating down on me.

My tail thrashed as I shook my head.

Okay, It's okay, I just need to keep going.

Slowly, and awkwardly, I trudged towards the snowy mountains in order to get a better vantage point.

As the snow continued to fall, I could hear the sounds of spiders skittering through the trees. If I needed the string, I would go after those things.

Hopefully, if I keep my distance, those eight-legged monsters will leave me be. Then again, I haven't left them alone in a while.

My ears twitched as I press onwards.

I briefly watched as some flurries danced around me as I cut through some leaves. With each cut, some more snow was kicked up; some of the fallen snow joined with the flurries that drifted through the air.

My tail thrashed as I ducked under some branches.

 Sssshhhhhh!

 I flinched.

 SSsSSSSSSSSHHHHh!

As I began to near the first hill that stood between me and the mountain, the wind began increase in its intensity.

I let out a low growl as my cloak rose with the wind. Quickly, I grabbed at the flowing garment and wrapped it around my body. I shook my head and fixed both my hood and my scarf.

 Stupid storm.

Now, I should probably blame myself for leaving my mildly warm house to try and find supplies; however, I really do need to find cows and some more building materials like hay. Maybe, hopefully, I can find a saddle or some carrots.

A horse or even a donkey would do me a lot of good right now.

I shook my head as I climbed up the hill. Once I reached the top, I looked back towards the house and watched as smoke from the campfire in the greenhouse rose into the sky.

The fire should keep the water from freezing. I hope. No, I know that it'll keep the water from freezing. I've done a good couple of tests.

The real hope is that it doesn't burn my crops; That's something that I haven't tested.

I cleared my throat and blinked away the snow that had fallen into eyelashes. Then, I actually rubbed my eyes due to blinking not being enough.

" Just a little bit father...." I mumbled, " Just a little bit father...."

((Two hours of climbing later brought to you by two snoozing wolves))

The climb was more tedious and tiring than eventual. If I had to describe it, I'd only say there was snow and the occasional sounds of tree branches breaking from the building snowfall.

Once I reached the top, I let out a sigh as I leaned against the base of the tree and lowered my scarf. I took in a deep breath and coughed from the cold. Quickly, I pulled my scarf back over my mouth.

 That was a bad idea.

My tail twitched as I took out my clock and frowned. Due to the clouds and endless snow, I hadn't had the chance to see the sky.

But, it seems like nightfall will begin soon.

Stepping away from the tree, I moved towards the flatter portion of the mountain and stopped as the purple bits of my arm began to glow and float upwards.

 Strange.

Following the glowing trails, I looked up to the sky as my mouth opened.

" No way..." I whispered as I lowered my hood as I stared off into the distance. There, in the distance, was the place that I've read in old, musty history books in the villages:

 The floating island of Woltria.

But, unlike what I read, this place had a huge difference that caused my uneasiness to rise and morph into dread:

The island had broken into multiple parts.

On top of that, striking through the central part of the island, there was a gigantic, black spike. From what I could tell, it seemed like the spike had erupted from the earth itself in order to pierce through the floating island.

I only have three questions to this:

 When, how, and....

 Are there any survivors?
