Petrified by Eyes (1/?)
Author's Note: A bit of an odd one. It primarily focuses on a flashback to tell its story. There are more parts to this oneshot mini-thing, but I'll get to those parts at a later date.
This is just a fun little test to see what ya'll think of this idea. I have, in a rough estimate, four-five other parts planned?

Scar's POV:
The nine statues of the members of Evo were positioned in the far back of the strange black and grey stone room.
A heavy magic was weighing me down as I took in a deep breath and moved further into the room. As I walked towards the statues, I felt myself remembering the events of a few weeks ago:
=
" What is this?" Mumbo questioned as he traced his hand against the wall that was etched with strange, eye-like symbols. I shrugged my shoulders.
Cautiously, we continued down the old, mossy steps that seemed ancient despite the world being created just a couple of days ago.
" Do you think Grian's already looted this place?" Mumbo chuckled as I nodded, " Probably." I joined him, " Heck, he's probably already trying to figure out how to make this place a part of his base."
Our laughs continued until we reached the bottom of the stairway. Then, we were both stunned into silence as the staircase opened up into something quite unexpected:
A gargantuan room that outmatched the size of the Mumball from last season.
The walls of this room were lined with the same eye symbol that we found in the staircase. However, there was one difference, instead of black slits for the eyes, there was a bright, violent purple fire that aided in the eeriness of the room.
I shuddered slightly.
Magic.
There's so much magic in this room that it's almost overwhelming me even before I stepped foot into the room. I put my hand to my chest and closed my eyes.
Deep breath in...
Deep breath out....
In.....
Out....
In......
" S-Scar?"
Mumbo's voice took me out of my breathing. Slowly, I opened my eyes and looked to Mumbo as he slowly stretched his hand out and pointed towards a lump in the middle of the room.
" G-Grian?" I whispered as the two of us hurried to the bird hybrid's side and helped him to his feet. Slowly, Grian looked up at Mumbo with his flushed and sweat-drenched face.
Grian's eyes were watering; his nose was still dripping with snot as he began to breath heavily. Grian's legs were shaking like a newborn animal's legs as he began to breath in and cough.
" G-Grian, what's wrong mate?" Mumbo questioned as Grian put his arms around Mumbo, " T-T-The Watchers..." Grian choked out.
The Watchers?
As Mumbo tried to comfort Grian, I looked up from where the three of us were and took many steps back. Mumbo, upon noticing my actions, followed my gaze then immediately wrapped his arms further against Grian.
The two of us looked up at the nine statues.
The nine statues that all resembled members of the EVO SMP: All of them sharing a similar expression of agony and dread.

" H-Hello?"
A strained, tired voice forced me out of my recollection. Against my own, better, judgement, I looked up to where the voice was coming from and moved back. My whole body was shaking as I stared at the half statue-ified dragon hybrid.
" H-How are you...?" I questioned, " When did this?" I continued as I put my hand to my chin.
When was this magic lifted?
How was this magic lifted?
" W-We can try... a-and figure this out later... Just help me down..." Pearl mumbled as I nodded and moved towards the set of statues.
Okay, I'm still new this this kind of magic, but I'm pretty sure I can do basic levitation.
With a deep breath, I raised my hands towards the semi-petrified Pearl and focused.
A long strand of purple magic escaped from my finger tips and coiled around Pearl causing her to tense up. The hybrid's ears twitched as I took a step back and lifted her into the air.
" I don't know what'll happen when I set you down, but... We can only hope for the best." I mumbled under my breath causing Pearl to tilt her head. The unfrozen part of Pearl's tail twitched, " W-What was that?" she questioned.
" Nothing!" I blurted out with a sheepish smile. Pearl narrowed her eyes and mumbled something under her breath as I lowered her to the stone floor.
When Pearl's stone legs touched the floor, I flinched as my eyes narrowed slightly.
It's okay...
She's going to be fine...
I'm going to be fine....
With a soft thud, Pearl was safely on the ground and my magic dispersed into the air. I nodded my head as I smacked my hands against my sides.
Cautiously, I moved closer to Pearl and looked down at her with a worried look, " Are you alright?" I questioned as Pearl let out a shaky breath, " I've been better..." she weakly chuckled, " I don't even remember how I ended up frozen."
I nodded my head as a shiver went down my spine.
" Can you move your unfrozen arm?" I questioned as Pearl slowly lifted her left arm and slowly moved it causing the appendage to pop in multiple places; the two of us tensed up slightly.
" I-I'll take that as a maybe....?" I mumbled as I turned around and crouched, " Just try and get your arms around my neck as good as possible." I mumbled as Pearl nodded. With the help of my magic, I managed to get the shorter person onto my back.
As I began to walk towards the stairs, a strange feeling that was bubbling up my chest forced me to stop.
" What's wrong?" Pearl questioned as I turned back towards the statues. The statue that was next to Pearl had began to crack.
" W-We should get out of here..." I mumbled as I quickly turned around and worked to climb the stairs. Pearl made a confused, tired noise and rested her head against my shoulder.
" I hope that Jimmy's statue cracking means that he's waking up..." Pearl whispered as I continued to climb.
" W-We can only hope..." I mumbled.
Even though I hope that Grian's friends can be brought back to life, there's a small, digging feeling in my gut that's telling me that there's something wrong with them....
All of them.....
