Cursetober (CursedMonsterAU)
Author's Note: I'm thinking about writing a few more parts to this story. Of course, it's not really in order of events, but it does show how each group reacts to turning into monsters n' such. I also really should work on the murder mystery story that I'm writing.
Anyways have a spooky day and......
Enjoy

Mumbo's POV:
I leaned against the wall of my base as my legs wobbled and shook. Have I been sleeping wrong? Have I not been getting enough sleep?
I mean, I know I haven't been getting enough sleep, but has it really messed with my ability to walk this badly? Everything was spinning as I left my base and looked out towards Grian's mansion.
A heavy frown slowly formed on my face as I followed up who was online. Good. G's online and it says that he's at his villager trading hall.
If I hurry through the Nether, then I can get to him before he leaves the area. I just hope that I don't collapse from tiredness before I can get help.
My whole body shuddered from the changing weather as I made my way towards my Nether portal. I sighed and crossed my arms over my chest. Why did X change the weather to make it colder already? Why can't we just keep it as warm until November?
I let out a sigh and rubbed my hand against my mustache as I reached the portal. After taking a shaky breath, I forced my way through the portal and shuddered as my body was shifted into the hellscape that was the Nether.
The heat of the Nether was both a blessing and a curse at the same time. I tugged at my suit and pulled my sleeves up with a frown. My arm was paler than usual, but at the same time, some red dots were forms at the pores of my skin. I shuddered and shook my head.
This is probably just an error. This is probably just an error.
I continued to think the phrase as I hurried through the tunnel and towards Grian's base. Pretty soon, I would have to use my elytra; however, I'll just stick to walking in order to not be in so much pain.
When I reached the end of the tunnel that opened up to the more deadly part of the Nether, I braced myself against the wall and put my hand to my head. My legs were feeling more feverishly than previously. I had originally pushed the pain to the back of my mind, but it seems like I just can't do that anymore.
I stretched my leg out and flinched at the horrible pain that stabbed into it. It felt like I was being pricked by a thousand needles. There was something worse than this though. While my legs were burning like lava, my lower back was staring that hurt too.
I gingerly rubbed at my back and froze when I grabbed something. My whole body shuddered as I turned my head and stared down a long thing of hair that started to hit the floor. I blinked a couple of times and stared at the thing of hair until it twitched.
" O-Oh.... goodness me that's...that's real..." I took my hand off of the growing tail and frown as it wiggled and grew more fluffy. Could I really call it a tail though? It seems more like a bunch of hair.
My whole body shook as I looked out into the Nether and strapped my elytra on. I had to get through this. I had to get help and hope that Grian's not being changed too.
I took out a rocket and fell into the Nether. The hot air rushed around me as my elytra spread out and slowed my descent. I blinked rapidly and quickly lit my rocket and flew through the sky; my legs dragged behind me in increasing pain.
The fog of the Nether grew more dense as I reached the portal that belonged to my shorter friend. I landed on the ground and rolled along the ground with a pained whimper. My legs shook as I grabbed the wall of the Nether portal and stood up.
My tail was twitching as I entered the portal and dropped into Grian's trading hall. A loud gasp hit my ears as I curled up and covered him with a growl. I cracked one eye open and looked up towards a black, spotted beak.
Slowly, the beak opened and gently bit at my nose with a small churring noise to follow. I gently moved my hand to the beak and stared at the white fur that had started growing on my arm. On top of this, my hand was turning blacker than charcoal and slowly fusing together.
I shook my head slightly as a dulling pain started to sink into my brain. Just stay calm Mumbo. I raised the turning hand towards the beak and pushed at it until whatever was biting me stopped and moved away.
I shuffled slightly until I could look at it.
A big, red and yellow ball of fur and feathers was flapping its wings. I raised my head as my growing ears twitched then lowered.
" A... A gryphon?" I whispered causing the head of the beast to turn and face me. The bird beast opened and closed its beak then turned back to fiddling around with something while squawking in annoyance.
I tried to move, but my aching body kept me grounded until the creature turned back around. The difference this time was that the gryphon had a pair of glasses awkwardly sitting on its beak. My ears twitched again as I stared.
" G-Grian?" I stuttered causing the creature's tail to wag. He chirped and bounced slightly, " H i." he forced out with a lower of his head. Grian walked closer to me and gripped his beak against the sleeve of my suit.
" Re-move... Help changes... Not rip clothes as bad..." Grian spoke slowly as he forced his way through his words. I wonder if its hard to speak without lips. I tried to move and whimpered and looked at my hand. I frowned as my ears twitched. Both of my hands had become black hooves, and I nervously showed them to Grian causing him to squawk.
" I-I can't get up Grian.... It hurts too much..." I whispered causing Grian to rub at his beak with his claw; the hermit's yellow tail thrashed as his motioned for me to lower myself. I nodded as Grian awkwardly stood on his hind legs and gripped at the back of the fall coat I was wearing.
Grian tugged at my coat until is slowly moved off of me. I let out a sigh as Grian grabbed at my shirt and tugged at it too until I was just awkwardly sitting around in my trousers.
I looked at my chest and frowned; my entire chest, back, and arms were covered in a growing layer of white fuzz that was slowly growing in density. My tail twitched as I looked back towards my shoes and took both them and my socks off. I frowned at how my feet have become hooves too.
" OOOooooow." I put my hooves to my still human face as a sharp pain came from it. Grian let out a whimper as he stepped away from me. Grian lowered himself to the ground and stared at me as I closed my eyes and gasped in pain as it felt like my skull was breaking apart.
My whole body was shaking as I felt something pierce through my forehead. I shook as Grian let out a gasp. At this point, my face was pretty numb as I let out a shaky sigh. The headache that I was suffering from was still incredibly dreadful as I slowly took my hooves away from my face and nervously poked at the white muzzle that had grown.
" This......" I breathed heavily and laid down on my side. I slowly reached my hoof up and touched what felt like a horn that had grown out of my head. My ears twitched as I gave Grian and exhausted look.
" A...Are you alright?" Grian asked with only a little bit of trouble. I shook my head, " J-Just help me get the rest of my clothes off.... I can't... move... well...." I sighed as Grian nodded and helped me out of my trousers and boxers.
The two of us sighed, " W-Why are we like this... G?" I questioned as the bird shrugged, " Dunno..." he wandered over to a pile of clothing and brought out his communicator. The bird sat down and awkwardly strapped the device to his feathery arm.
Grian's wings flapped as he gently pecked at his device and tilted his head, " Got a message from Beef... Said to come to Shopping District..." he and I both nodded at each other. My tail twitched, " H-How do we get over there though?" I questioned as Grian spread his wings open. If the hermit still had his normal face, then he would be grinning from ear to ear.
I shook my head, " T-That's a terrible idea...." I looked at my long legs then back up at Grian. The hermit churred at me as his tail wagged slightly, " Ooooooh Mumbo." he climbed onto my back, " You've been knowing that I'm stronger than I look." he mused as he wrapped his claws and paws around me.
My ears went back, " Y-Yet you're not the same body-wise..." I told him as he spread open his wings and flapped them. I yelped as Grian managed to get us both off of the ground. Grian let out a happy squawk as he slowly carried me out of his storage area and towards the shopping district.
