"I hate my life. Why? It's because everyone bullies me at school. That's not all though. My dad is practically dead, given less than a week to live. That's why I'm giving up. Tonight I plan on ending my sad excuse of a life, jumping off the Golden Gate bridge. Many people say you should never commit suicide because it will just make it harder on your family; what if you don't have one? I guess the simple answer is no one will realize you're gone."

Ella finishes typing her journal entry on her phone as she walks to the planned spot of her death. She fears death but at the same time she welcomes it. She keeps whispering to herself, "I want to die." Yet, she still cries as she looks down to the calm but vicious waters below. She slowly, cautiously climbs onto the top of the fence and sits, barely keeping her grasp. She exhales deeply, preparing herself for her finalizing leap. She starts to slide off the edge of the railing, slowly letting go. Something stops her though by wrapping around her waste and pulling her back over the fence. She screams and kicks in tears, wishing she had jumped sooner. The person who saved her wouldn't let go, he hugged her more than he restrained her.

Ella looks over her shoulder to see who it is that ruined her suicide attempt. It's Landon, her neighbor since she was very young.

"Ella," he starts, "Why are you doing this to yourself?"

Ella starts to sob profusely saying, "I've lost everyone I love!"

"You'll still have me," Landon explains. She gives him a strange glance. "I love you, Ella. I have ever since we were little."

Ella's mouth gapes as she takes in the confession. She had found the thing she's been searching for: something to live for. Landon helps her stand up and holds her close to his chest. They both lean in closer and closer until their lips touch, along with their hearts.
