Chapter 3- The Rumors

It has been a week now and the town is at its usual state.

Lively, loud, but not too loud, calm, but at night, this eerie feeling always dawns on me. It's surprisingly dead and cold at night, no wind blowing, not even crickets chirping nothing. I don't know what it is, but for now, I'm just ignoring it. The town is right by a small thing of wooded area, I guess woods, but not even anything is heard. It keeps giving me chills, but like I said, I'm just going to ignore it.

It is now Monday, April fifteenth and the time, seven-thirty in the morning.

For once, I actually wake up early.

I get out of bed and slide some jeans and a jacket on. I look around the house and no one is up.

I decided to take a little stroll of the town to see if anything else is needed exploration. So far, nothing but dark houses and complete silence. It is like the smallest of sound could be heard would make me jump.

How could the town be so quiet?

Then again, who wouldn't love the quiet? Especially in the city where all you hear is noise.

I go to the top of the hill near the burned house is and sit, watching as the sun slowly makes his way back up to the sky to oversee this village. I look around me, flowers of various colors appear to grow.

Dozens of Blues, Yellows, Reds, Whites, Pinks, and Purples grow without hesitation.

Without even thinking, I began to grab flower by flower and began to make a crown.

"I bet grandmother would love this." I said, tying the last two ends together.

I looked at the sun and he was.beginning to rise, trying to overlook the town once again. I stood up and wiped off my pants.
I began to walk down the hill and once I hit the bottom, I looked up at the top of the hill, the sun looking as if he was touching each flower to embrace the new warmth once again.

I walk into the town and hear children laughing. I smile and continue walking.

I suddenly feel a tug on my shirt.

"Excuse me sir." I crouched down and go face-to-face with a girl with blonde hair and green eyes. She's wearing a little flower hairpin and wears a green dress with a white apron over the dress, then a little white Hood covers the top of her head.

"Yes?"

"Can you help me? I can't get my shoes right." I nodded and put the crown on the gravel road.

"Alright, this is what you do. Look carefully." I began tying her shoes' laces and double-knotted it.

"Let's see you do that with the other one ok?" She nodded and sat down, reaching to her foot and tying the laces.

"Like this?" She stood up again and I examined the shoe.

"Correct! Good job." I smiled and rubbed her head.

"Thank you so much sir!"

"You're welcome, now, go play with your friends." She smiled, showing her teeth. The front left one missing, and ran back to her friends.

I grabbed the crown and stood up.

I again began walking to the house and a few neighbours began to talk. I didn't want to seem rude, but I couldn't stop myself from not listening.

"Those new siblings that moved into her house are so nice, that young man is sure handsome as well." They began to giggle.

"He kind of reminds me of that boy long ago."

"Howard?"

"Yes, but keep it down. If the kids hear about Him, they will keep talking about Him and we would have to move out."

"Right." They began to talk quieter, I got a little confused, but kept walking until I reached our house. I grabbed the keys out of my pocket and unlocked the door, walking in to see Grandmother watching TV and Kayla making breakfast. I quietly closed the door and snuck up to Grandmother, placing the crown on top of her head.

At first, she was surprised, but then began to chuckle and fix her crown.

"You always have a surprise, when it is moving in, to this. She said smiling. I kissed her cheek and moved to the kitchen, Kayla was making eggs, Bacon, and pancakes.

"Enough food?" She jumped, hand on heart.

"Jesus Christ."

"Where?"

"Not funny, thanks for giving me a heart attack." She removed one of her earbuds, and I grabbed it, placing it in my ear.

"...and all I did was mourn, my eighth life was so rich I could have bought the world and everything..." I removed the earbud and let it drop to her side, grabbing a plate and grabbing a fresh piece of bacon.

"Nice, crispy, just how I like it. Nice cooking sis."

"Yea yea." She shoved another piece into my mouth.

"Just grab and go, breakfast is pretty much done." She flipped the last pancake, setting it on a plate and moving the eggs to another, placing the bacon on the third plate. She grabbed a plate and went to Grandmother.

"Would you like anything?"

"Just some eggs and pancakes please dear." Kayla went back to the three plates and grabbed one pancake and three regular spoons of eggs. She then went back to Grandmother and gave her a plate and a fork. Grandmother nods and Kayla leaves to make her plate.

As soon as she was done, she sat at the table I was at and sat across from me. This was my chance.

"Kayla,"

"Hmm?" She said, mouth full of eggs.

"What's up with a kid named Howard? I heard it from some women earlier." She coughed, and set her fork down.

"That was Grandmother's childhood friend." She whispered.

"How did you know?"

"When you left to do something yesterday, Grandmother told me about him, apparently they were 'dating' at the time and didn't even know about what dating really was."

"Really?"

"Yea, also, I remember her telling me that something happened after that house up on the hill caught on fire."

"What?"

"While the house was being burned, she was up on that little hill you were on crying. After the townspeople left, she saw his horse pick up speed and actually jumped off and carried his parents out of the building while flames were still going. I guess he found his sister somewhere else, probably behind in the backyard. From what I heard from the townspeople now is that's where he found it. She saw his horse running and getting closer to her and she ran away, dropping everything she had. After a while l, she said that once she came back up the hill, the horse and Howard were gone. The rain calmed the fire, she looked, he wasn't there, and she never knew where he went. She said that years passed and she finally accepted that he was probably dead or in another village. By now, she knows that he is definitely dead by now."

"Wow. That sucks."

"Yea. That's why I want to see the place, but I'm worried something might happen."

"Then I might check it out later this week or next week."

"Are you serious?!"

"Well, yea. I'll bring my camera too and record any or everything that I can."

"I don't really trust that house rift now. You know, pieces falling off, flooring breaking under you." I silently laughed.

"Don't worry, i'll be fine, geez. Why do you worry so much?" She looked at me.

"Because you are my brother, my ONLY brother. So why wouldn't I worry?"

"Just asking." I stood up and began to wash my plate, Kayla putting hers in the sink for me to wash as well." I glared at her.

"Love you too."

I was finally finished with my dishes and went to Grandmother, her plate was on the side of the bed on a nearby coffee table, she was watching an old TV show that was black and white.

"What are you watching Grandmother?" She looked up and me and smiled.

"Just a show that came on that's about a doomed love that happened to a young man, born immortal who fell in love with a regular girl, she is a pretty one, yes she is. She reminds me of when i was little to be honest." I sat besides her on a rocking chair and watched the show as well.

It was true, the male actor in this TV show was cursed by something and forced to kill every night just to survive being killed. One of his victims was the beautiful female actor, who also had the curse, but they could never be able to see eachother nor kill eachother for their love.

One day, the man sees the girl at day and all of a sudden proposes to her, but neither new eachothers' names.

Months passed and the two finally had a wedding, the groom was in a regular black and white tux and the bride was in a beautiful white gown, a little train following her. As the pastor of the church read the vows, a man bursts through the door and shoots the bride. The groom screams and runs at the shooter, trying to kill him, but the gun goes off and the camera froze at the two, both wide eyed, as the groom fell down. Blood flowing on the church floor. The pastor makes a cross as the empty church echos one more gunshot. The camera then goes to the top of the church where the cross of God stood. The screen goes black and the credits began to roll, showing pictures of the two couple together at the wedding. The only pictures they had the pastor took of them before the shooting.

"That was truly horrible, who did the gunner shoot next? Why couldn't they get married?" Many questions went through my mind.

"I see that you got your head stuck in this child."

"But it's not fair! They were about to get married!"

"Life is never fair dear," a sigh was heard and I looked at Grandmother, tears went down her wrinkled cheeks. I quickly got up and sat by her, wiping her tears away.

"It is only how life is taken. We may never know what will happen next, nor will we ever know the true pain of loss until we have experienced it ourselves." I stood up from my chair and hugged her. She smiled.

"Always getting my mind off of such horrible things. Thank you dearie." Another movie began to play and I left the room, looking around for Kayla.

"Kayla?"

"In my room." As she said, I walked to her room doorway and saw her unpacking some other items like clothing and such. She looked at me, moving her blonde hair behind her ear.

"I'm going to do it."

"No."

"Yes, I promise I'll be back before midnight, possibly." I began to walk into my room, grabbing my stuff. She ran in and grabbed my arm.

"You're not going."

"Yes I am, now let go. I have to investigate why that house is so 'secretive' it will only be a few hours. I promise." She let go of my arms.

"Only a few hours, correct?" I nodded and sshe followed me to the door, I waved to her and grandmother. Kayla gave me a quick hug before I left. She whispered into my ear.

"If you are not here before midnight, I'm going to find you." I nodded, trying to smile it off.

Yea, my sister is creepy sometimes.

I closed the door and took my camera out, looking at the house.

"It's just a house. It's not like something weird is going to happen."

AN!!!!
Hello!!!! Welcome back to the yet another book that I made! *sweatdrop*

Soooo, what do you think about the cover I have made?

Well, I haven't MADE it, but I edited it and everything, I have another one made just in case I lose interest in this one. XD

Sorry that I didn't say this in the first or second chapter, I just wanted you to be consumed into this (if you are) and not read anything else like this.

Welp, that's all I had to say, enjoy with the book! I already have chapter 5 in process and what the characters look like (if I am not discriptive enough) and their theme songs that I have found.

Until further notice, enjoy!
