| v. THE BURNED ONE
While Danielle and Beatrix were spending their time in the library, Victoria and her roommates had made a plan to get back Stella's ring from the Burned One that was captured. Their plan was complicated and the girls weren't sure if it would work, but their worried thoughts washed away as soon as Stella came into the room.
"Sky just called," She breathed out, scanning Bloom's face. "They're moving the Burned One to the capitol. We have to go now," Stella informed them, nervously shaking her hands.
The black-haired girl shook her head, clicking her tongue, before looking at Bloom. "Sorry, but nothing about how stupid that idea is has changed," Aisha said just to be ignored by the girls.
The brunette girl walked out of the room, following Stella and Bloom. She shoved her hands in the pocket of her pants as they walked out of the hallways, leading to the forest. Victoria sighed as soon as she heard footsteps behind her, her mind telling her that it was Aisha who was walking behind them.
"So, what's the plan, Army Barbie?" Aisha asked the moment she joined them.
The blonde girl scoffed and turned her head around to glare at the black-haired girl. "Bloom, I'm curious. Did you ask Aisha to come? I don't think you did. I don't think Victoria did either. And if you two didn't ask Aisha to come, and I didn't ask Aisha to come... It's official. No one asked Aisha to come," She spoke, feeling annoyed by the water fairy.
No one dared to say anything else after Stella spoke up, so they walked in silence, until they reached the barrier. Bloom fixed her jacket as she started into the woods, while Aisha and Stella argued in the back. Victoria was just leaning against a rock with her arms crossed while she watched the girls argue.
"You need me. What you gonna do? Dazzle it with light while Bloom struggles to light a fire?" Aisha huffed.
"We have Victoria," Stella tried to reason, rolling her eyes at Aisha. "I'm sure she'll help us kill it when she sees it, so we don't have to worry,"
Victoria tilted her head, her brow raised. "I'm sure my help won't be needed, since as you said a few hours earlier, you 'fixed' Bloom," She stated walking up closer to the barrier.
Before the girl could add something, she saw Musa and Terra joining them. The earth fairy had a big smile on her face as always and Musa had her headphones on.
"Sorry! I needed help with the Zanbaq. We're all good now though," Terra exclaimed, showing a small bottle of gold liquid in it.
Bloom was the first one to step through the barrier, the girls following her after. She looked around the forest carefully as she walked through the woods. The ginger now wasn't sure if their plan would work.
Victoria cleared her throat and rubbed her hands. "Do we know where the barn is?" She questioned, turning her head to face Terra.
"Yes," The girl nodded. "North. There's this little stump that looks like an old-"
Then Stella cut her off, like always. "Show. Don't tell,"
"Could you stop being mean for a second?" Victoria rolled her eyes, shooting Stella a glance, making her scoff.
The earth fairy sent her a grateful look as they strolled through the dark woods. The sky was getting darker with each footstep they took, making the woods look unnaturally scary. The thoughts of the Burned Ones attacking them suddenly, flooded Terra's and Stella's minds immediately.
"Musa, are you okay?" Victoria asked her friend sensing something wrong.
She stopped in her tracks, wincing. "I don't know. I feel something," Musa replied, just to fall on her knees onto the ground and scream in pain, while she gripped her head. "It hurts!"
"Guys, we've got a problem!" Terra shouted, looking at something in the grass, while Victoria was holding Musa up.
The girl helped her get up and right after that, Victoria's eyes travelled in the same spot Terra was looking. Dead bodies filled her sight. There was blood everywhere, already sinking into the ground and Victoria could smell the death in the air.
She gasped in shock. "The Burned One's still somewhere," Victoria told the rest, as she looked at them.
Suddenly her gaze caught a man who was sitting beside a tree, gripping his stomach. It was Silva. Dread filled her as soon as she realized it was her father. The man who raised her. Shock and fear of losing him paralyzed her, she felt like her limbs were stuck in the ground.
"Dad?" She exclaimed as she got out of the trance, jumping to her feet and rushing towards the man. "Dad, please look at me," Her eyes started to water as she took in his bloodied appearance. She moved down her gaze to his arms where his sleeves were cut off, showing various black lines crawling down his skin.
"Please, sweetheart, get back," Silva groaned as he clutched his stomach.
The girl shook her head, gripping her father's hands, not caring about getting his blood on herself. She squeezed them, sending the man a reassuring smile. "We'll take care of you, Dad," She whispered. "You'll be fine,"
"We'll carry him to the school and you go find Bloom, all right?" Terra placed a hand on Victoria's shoulder, looking at her worried.
Victoria nodded at her words, glancing at her father, Musa pouring the gold liquid into his mouth. After a few seconds, she ran off to the woods, hoping that her father will survive. Losing Silva would be something she would never recover from.
_
It was just a matter of time before Victoria had found Bloom and Aisha. They were standing beside each other, their face expressions showing they were terrified. The crunching sounds added more horror to the scenery, making them feel like they were in a movie.
Expect, it was reality.
"It's after Bloom," Aisha suddenly informed her.
Victoria nodded, noting that information in her head, as she was looking around the woods. "Do we know why?" She questioned quickly, raising her hands, ready to attack the enemy.
Bloom shook her head, just to see the Burned One coming her way. She whimpered, throwing a fire ball in hope of burning it, but it didn't do much. The brunette girl shot her hands forward, grabbing the creature and covering it in red energy. Her eyes turned crimson red, showing how powerful she was at the moment.
She lifted up her hand, making the Burned One rise up higher. The creature screeched in pain as Victoria was tearing it's body apart. The girl made a quick hand movement, the creature's body ripped in half, its black blood splattering everywhere.
As soon as her eyes turned to their normal shade, she turned to her friends, who were looking around, petrified. "Are you guys okay?" Victoria panted, stepping closer to the girls.
They nodded. "Yeah,"
Victoria motioned to the creature who was ripped in half, pointing at its chest. She sighed, seeing that neither Bloom or Aisha are going to pull out the ring. The girl winced as she pulled out Stella's property, from the Burned One's chest with the help of her powers.
"Let's go," She breathed out, before running towards the castle. Her mind was filled with thoughts of Silva and she was hoping he'll be alive. The girl nearly tripped over her feet, but thanks to Bloom and Aisha who were holding her up, she didn't.
It only took them a few minutes to get to the castle. The girl ran like a crazy to the greenhouse, not caring about the student's judgmental stares. Terra had texted her earlier, telling her that her father was fine, but she felt the need to see him.
As soon as she reached the greenhouse, she crunched down to face Silva. "You'll be okay, Professor Harvey will take care of you, all right?" She sniffled.
"Come on, Vic," A voice spoke softly, grabbing her arm to pull her up. The girl stepped back, before turning around and wrapping her arms around her sister, just to break down. Danielle squeezed her eyes shut, trying to stop herself from crying, but hearing her sister's sobs, made her break down completely.
Suddenly Miss Dowling entered the room, examining Silva's figure. "I should've moves it right away, had more soldiers." She winced when she saw the man's wounds.
"Could we have the room, please?" Silva pleaded. Everyone nodded, leaving Miss Dowling, Professor Harvey and Silva alone.
Danielle, Victoria and Sky sat on a closets to the greenhouse bench. The girl leaned her back against the wall, closing her eyes, tiredness slowly taking over her. She stopped crying a few minutes ago, but it didn't stop her mind from asking the questions 'What if...'. She couldn't imagine living without the man who raised her and Danielle.
"Silva's daughters, huh?" The blonde boy questioned, making the girls turn towards him.
Victoria sent him a small smile. "Yeah, but he's not our birth dad," She informed Sky, who had a surprised face expression. "We're adopted,"
"Shocked?" Danielle asked the boy.
"Yeah, I could've sworn you were his daughters since you both and Silva, look similar to each other."
The girls let out a small laugh at his shocked face. The boy shook his head, chuckling slightly, before turning his head to look at the girls.
Victoria stood up and fixed her clothes. "I should go back to the suite," She stated, sending Danielle a small smile.
"I'll go with you," Sky told the girl. She raised her eyebrows, glancing at the boy. "I need to see Stella, anyway," He sighed.
The brunette girl nodded as she and Sky started to walks towards the winx suite. There was nothing between them, but silence. Her heart was still beating fast as her thoughts raced through her mind. She has always been overthinking, about many things. Now she was sure, she wasn't going to fall asleep after what happened earlier.
"Vic," Sky called out softly as they reached the door, leading to the room. "He'll be okay, Saul is a strong man, we'll find that Burned One who did it,"
The brunette girl nodded, tears welling up in her eyes again that day. Sky as soon as noticed her eyer watering, pulled her to his chest, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. The girl began to sob again. Sky caressed the back of her head as she poured her sadness into his shoulder.
