forty.

Aliyah went over her outfit multiple times in her head as she looked in the mirror. Matt told her to dress comfortably which she was happy about. She was a girly girl but throwing on some leggings and a cute tee will never not be the best thing ever to her. She looked at her friends who were making a face. "What?!" Aliyah yelled at them which made their eyes widen. The four looked at each other before saying at once, "Change."

"What's wrong with this outfit?" Aliyah's mouth dropped open as she looked at her outfit in the mirror. A simple baby tee with lulu lemon leggings. "What isn't wrong with it?", Cam got up from her seat and ransacked through Aliyah's drawers before smiling brightly and chucking the clothes in the girl's direction.

Aliyah caught them and went to change in the bathroom quickly. The girls chatted amongst themselves until she came out with a slightly loose grey crewneck and black flare lulu lemon leggings this time. "Pair those with uggs and you will look fabulous!" Van smiled as the girls nodded at her statement. Aliyah shrugged as she slid on her platform uggs and then looked in her full length mirror.

"This is it." Aliyah clapped her hands lightly as Jordan ran up behind the girl, "I am so excited for you, Ali." Aliyah smiled as she tried to brush away her nerves. "I mean, you're gonna star in a movie and you're with a guy who really likes you, for who you are, we are so happy for you."

     Aliyah blushed at that.

They heard a noise which made them whip their head to the the bedroom door. It was a knock on the front door. "Go!" The girls whispered-yelled as Aliyah's eyes widened and she grabbed her phone. She ran down the stairs as quickly as she could. The front door swung open to see Matt with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. White daisies, her second favorite.

She told him when they were in Boston and they passed by a flower shop on the street. There were bouquets of flowers everywhere but the ones that drew her eyes were these beautiful pink flowers which they learned were named "Camellias" and she fell in love with them. She told Matt, "Daisies were always my favorite flowers but now? These are definitely my new favorite. Daisies have moved down to second."

"I hope these are okay, the store didn't have camellias for some reason." He scratched the back of his head as Aliyah smiled, "They're perfect."

"Jordan! Come put these in water, thanks!" She yelled up the stairs and put the flowers on the coffee table, "We can go now." She smiled and grabbed his hand to walk out the door. "Bye guys, have fun!" Jordan waved and shut Aliyah's front door. Matt looked around in confusion, "Why are they at your house if youre going out?"

"We're best friends, they do that all the time." The girl shrugged and got into the front seat of his car. Matt laughed to himself as he walked to the drivers seat of his car. She will never not make him laugh.

After a twenty minute drive, Matt pulls over really quickly as Aliyah was singing Babydoll by Dominic Fike. Matt and Aliyah had different music tastes but they had some similar artists, Dominic was one of them. Matt turned down the song which made the girl look at him, "Hey! I was singing that." He laughed, "Close your eyes."

     "What?"

     "Close your eyes, Liyah."

     "Weird but okay."

She shut her eyes with her hands and she felt the car go back on the road and turn into something. The car stopped once again and she heard Matt's door open then shut. "Matt, my eyes are closed. I can't get out." She told him when he opened her door, "I know dipshit, I'm getting you out." He took one of her hands off her eyes so she covered both her eyes with one hand. "No need for name calling."

"Okay, just a couple steps." Matt mumbled to her as she was letting him guide her through. "Okay, here!" Matt smiled as he let go and walked in front of her which made her bump into him, "Aliyah!" He rubbed his shoulder as he looked behind him.

"Well, your break lights were out."

Matt sighed before going beside her and removing her hand off her face. When she opened her eyes she stood still, in shock. There was a bunch of fairy lights with a projector and a screen to watch a movie. "Oh my god. Teen Beach Movie 2." She whispered but Matt heard it as he let out a loud laugh. "Yeah, Van helped me with this. She said that you hated that movie but the beginning was the best part because of their date and when you were younger, you would say that you wanted to be able to go on this date."

"Matt, it's beautiful." She giggled and wrapped her arms around his shoulders tightly. He copied her actions and wrapped his arms around her waist, "I'm glad you like it. I was scared Van lied and was plotting against me."

She laughed as she let go and grabbed his hand, dragging him to the two seats that were in front of the screen. "Oh my god, this is exactly like the movie." She exclaimed as she saw the cooler in the middle of the seats. She sat down and opened the cooler to see root beer and dr. pepper cans. She grabbed one of the root beers and put it in front of Matt's face, "For you, I assume?"

"Obviously." He grabbed the can out of her hand and watcher her grab a Dr. Pepper.

"What movie are we watching?" She asked after she took a sip of her drink but furrowed as Matt was looking around everywhere. "Um, are you okay?" She asked again, trying to hold back her laugh with how funny he looked. He groaned and put his hands in his head, "Woah, what happened? I thought we were having fun?" Aliyah was confused with what happened in the span of five seconds. "I forgot the food." He mumbled into his hands.

Aliyah softly giggled, "Matt it's okay. We can get something on the way home." And like it was a coincidence, they hear footsteps running closer and closer.

     "MATT! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

"Is that Chris?" Matt looked up front his hands and asked Aliyah who shrugged.

"CHRIS! YOU IDIOT, FOLLOW THE LIGHT!"

"Well, that's Nick so I assume yes." She nodded at him as his eyebrows were furrowed. They both got up from their chairs to see the two brothers running towards them. Finally, Chris put a plastic bag on the cooler while panting. Aliyah and Matt looked in the bag and Aliyah's eyes soften, "You brought us canes?" She smiled at them as they nodded their heads, still trying to catch their breaths.

"How did you know I forgot?" Matt asked his brothers who widened their eyes and looked at each other. "Well, we were watching your location and saw you forgot to stop there so we brought it to you guys." Nick said, sheepishly, which made Matt exhale in annoyance. "Who brought you here? You guys can't drive." Aliyah asked them next which made Chris smile, "Alex did. She's in the car right now."

On that note, they hear a loud honk blaring in the distance as Chris looked at his phone. "She said she's gonna leave without us. RUN NICK!" The two started running back up to the parking lot as Aliyah giggled seeing them run.

"You are amazing." She looked at Matt and pecked his lips quickly. His cheeks turned red as they both sat back down on their seats. "Now, what movie are we watching?" She smiled at him as he shrugged, jokingly and pressed the remote for the projector to start the movie.

The movie started playing and she noticed it right away as 10 Things I Hate About You. She grabbed her canes order and her Dr. Pepper and just enjoyed what was happening. This was the best date she has ever been on by far.

The movie was over and the two finished their food, therefore, they we're back in the car. They picked everything up and put it in the back of the van. Now, they were driving back to Aliyah's house. "Would you forgive me if I gave you a guitar as an apology?" Matt asked, he was always confused about the ending of 10 Things I Hate About You. He said it was "unrealistic" which made Aliyah just respond with, "It's a RomCom, Matt."

"Depends what you did." She shrugged in which Matt said, "The same thing Patrick did to Kat." He said which made Aliyah think, "Well, no, probably not."

"Ah-Ha!" He pointed at her as she rolled her eyes at him, "It's a movie, Matt! It's not real life!"

"Whatever, my point still stands." He shrugged with a grin on his face. Aliyah scoffed at him, "You're unreal." The car made a stop which made the girl realize that they were at her house. She didn't want the night to end but she knew it had too. She unbuckled her seatbelt and turned her body towards Matt in her seat. "Thank you for tonight. I loved every second of it." She smiled with a slight tint of blush on her cheeks. "I can't take all the credit, Van did help me a lot and everyone helped me set up." He spoke, humbly.

"No one has ever put this much thought into a date with me before. They would just do what they thought was good when in reality, it sucked so bad." She laughed as she looked at the sky then back at him. "Well, you deserve the best. You know, I've had a crush on you since I first saw you."

"But the first time you saw me was on TV and we were eight years old?" She laughed with her eyebrows down and her head tilted to the side slightly.

"Yup."

She rolled her eyes with a smile then leaned over the center console and kissed his cheek. "Thank you again." She whispered to him before opening the door and walking up to her house. He waited till she got inside so when she opened the front door, Nick and Chris ran out the door, pushing past the girl who gasped at the sight of them. She shook her head and walked into her house as they got in Matt's car.

She saw her friends in her kitchen, eating a chocolate cake from Vons. "Why were they here?" Aliyah asked the group as they looked at each other, "Alex didn't want to bring them home if Matt was dropping you off." Cam shrugged as she took a bite of cake. "Now, tell us what happened with some cake!" Jordan smiled and handed Aliyah a fork in which she took and sat on the stool of her kitchen counter and told them how amazing her date was.
