Sonic's POV 💎

After Sapphire left the room, with Chip still in her arms, I followed after her since I was  already starting to feel curious and wanting to know what the surprise is.

When I caught up to her, Sapphire was out in the hallway, waiting for me while she stood by in front of a door.

"Alright...You ready?" Sapphire went as she placed Chip in my arms before blindfolding me.

I felt a bit confused as I nodded, wondering why did she blindfold me for.

Then I heard her open the door as she took my hand and guided me in the room before sitting me down in, what feels like to be, a rocking chair.

"Now, you can look..." Sapphire said as she took the blindfold off.

Shocked and surprised was definitely the two words I was going for on how I felt after I looked around the room.

"Did you do all of this?" I asked.

"I did, just not by myself though. Tails helped." She replied simply. "So, did you like the surprise?"

"Are you kidding? I love it! The way you and Tails had the room done is amazing!" I answered before pulling Sapphire into a hug. "Thank you!"

"You're welcome, Sonikku. I'm glad you like it." She says as she hugged me back.

I smiled until I started to remember something that happened in my past, that had to involve with Chip the Light Gaia.

Tears began appearing in my eyes before running down to the sides of my face.

I sniffed a little as I hugged Sapphire tightly before parting as I looked at my child.

"Sonic? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" I heard Sapphire ask with concern, after noticing I was in tears.

I didn't say anything as I kept looking at Chip.

Like Sapphire, Chip was feeling concerned about me.

I could tell he was trying to talk but all that came out from him was infant noises instead of words.

I'm pretty sure that if he was able to talk or walk around, even though he was recently born on the 21st, I'm pretty sure he would've given me a hug too along with some comforting words.

Sapphire looked at me, her eyes filled with worry, before pulling me into another hug.

"Is it about the light gaia?" She asked.

I nodded before burying my face into her shoulder as I sniffed again.

"Aww...It's okay, Sonic. I understand how hard it is to lose someone you deeply cared for. That's also another reason why I gave you that name for the child...

So, that way, it can at least feel like he's still here and by your side as always." Sapphire says before kissing me on the cheek.

I nodded again before letting out a sigh.

"I know. I just miss him so much. Like you said, you and I wouldn't have been able to move on if we weren't there for each other." I say while wiping the tears from my eyes.

"That's right, Sonikku..." Sapphire replied. "Only Chip's included this time."

"Yeah. He deserved to have that name. And I'm glad you suggested that name to me, so his memory can be kept alive." I mentioned before looking at my child again.

Then I picked Chip up and kissed him on the cheek before giving him a hug, while being gentle, so I don't crush him by accident.

After hugging and resting him on my lap, I felt Chip rest his tiny hands on my hand, before seeing him giving me the "Don't worry...It's gonna be okay" look on his face.

"Thank you, Chip..." I said as my gaze softened before picking him up once more and kissing him on the forehead.

Chip smiled and cooed in response while giggling a little bit.
