Sapphire's POV 💙

After I kissed him on the cheek, I caught Sonic smiling before he dozed off.

I sighed to myself silently before sitting down and looking at Sonic's adorable little bundle of joy.

Chip looked back at me before he smiled and cooed.

"You really are such a energetic, little sweetheart...Aren't you, Chip?" I asked as I smiled back at him before sticking my pinky finger out and watching Chip wrap his tiny hand around it.

Chip giggled as he smiled again.

"I knew it..." I say before chuckling a bit.

Eventually, Chip dozed off too.

"Wait...That's what Sonic named his child?" Tails asked.

"Well, I suggested that name to him. But, yes, that's what Sonic named the child." I answered.

"Why?"

"Because, I know how much Sonic really missed the Light Gaia. I figured Sonic would want to name the child after him in honor of his memory." I explained.

"That's a good idea. I'm glad Sonic liked it." Tails commented, making me smile.

"Thanks, I'm glad you like it too." I said.

Then I looked over at Chip's sleeping figure.

"His hands are so tiny and adorable, I hope I'll be a good parent. I know Sonic will be too." I began.

Tails chuckled a bit.

"I'm definitely sure you and Sonic will be..." He mentioned.

I smiled as I thanked him before getting the little bed Sonic was given, a few hours ago, after Chip's birth.

Then I dozed off too after I laid Chip down in the little bed and tucked him in.

-After A While-

I woke up and yawned a little after I heard Sonic stir a little in his sleep before begining to wake up too.

I noticed Tails had probably left the hospital because he wasn't in the room and the door was shut.

"Sapphire? What time is it? And where's Chip?" Sonic mumbled sleepily while asking me.

I looked at the watch on my wrist and realized that it's around 10:00 in the morning.

Apparently, Sonic and I had slept here for the rest of the night until daylight.

"It's around 10 o'clock, Sonikku..." I answered as I rubbed my eyes sleepily.

Then I noticed the little bed beside me before I took Chip out and handed him to Sonic.

Sonic smiled and took Chip into his arms before cradling him.

Just like what the two of us did, Chip began to wake up too before yawning a little.

As he opened his eyes, Chip looked over and cooed a bit before resting his tiny hands on Sonic's hand.

I smiled at this too as Sonic and I looked over before we kissed each other on the lips.

As we parted, I heard a knock on the door before it opened, revealing Sonic's doctor.

"Good morning. How are you and the child feeling?" The doctor asked as she looked at her clipboard.

"I feel alright. Still in a little bit of pain but okay. And as for the child, he's okay too." Sonic answered.

"Good. Have you decided what you're gonna name the child?"

"Yes. I've decided on naming him, Chip."

I just sat there and listened as the doctor asked Sonic health-related questions. Especially, about Chip.

"So, when can I leave the hospital and return home?" Sonic asked.

"You can leave tomorrow." The doctor replied.

"Cool."

I smiled to myself after hearing the news that Sonic can leave the hospital tomorrow.

After the doctor did a check up on Sonic, she left the room.

"Hey, Sonic? When you were still pregnant and had a check up, did she do the ultrasound thing to you?" I asked.

Sonic nodded.

"Yeah. I got the pictures too. But, I hid them under the bed back home, after putting them in a big yellow envelope." He answered.
