Sapphire's POV 💙

"What is it?" Sonic asked.

"It's a tracking device. I want you to put it on so I can know where you're located at in the forest.

The reason why I wanted you to put it on your ankle was so you won't lose the tracking device real easily." I explained.

"The best part about that is the tracking device will be well hidden from your view when you head in the forest and lose control of yourself around midnight."

"Oh! Okay." Sonic went after realizing what I was talking about.

Then he took his shoe off and putted the tracking device on his ankle before putting his shoe back on.

"Alright. You're free to go, wolf boy." I said before I smiled and patted him on the back.

Sonic blushed a little at the nickname I gave him before smiling at me in return.

Then we headed upstairs, back into the living room, before I opened the front door for him.

"Howl at the moon for me too, okay?" I joked as Sonic stepped out the door.

I heard Sonic laughing a little at that before he shook his head.

"Maybe later." He replied with a grin as he looked over at me before hurrying off into the forest.

I chuckled to myself before I noticed Tails flying above, heading over towards me.

"I got what it is I needed. While I was back at the house, I made you something that'll be easier and useful for the research." Tails mentioned.

I smiled.

Tails is such a sweetie boy.

You gotta love him though.

"What is it?" I asked as we headed back into my private laboratory.

Tails setted his stuff down on a table before moving them aside.

"This." He says as he pulled something out before handing it to me.

"Cool! Thank you so much, Tails! This'll definitely make things easier to get the stuff I need for the research." I said before Tails pulled another one out for himself.

"Thanks." Tails replied as he smiled and blushed a tiny bit.

"Now, let's head over to the forest. I already putted a tracking device on Sonic so that way, we know where's he located at, before he left." I said.

"It's a good thing you planned ahead, that was clever." Tails mentioned.

I smiled and chuckled a little.

"Thanks. Now, let's get going and follow after Sonic. We need to stay hidden too while we're at it..." I replied before we hurried off.

As we arrived at the forest, I pulled out two communicators and gave one to Tails.

Just in case something happens to one of us and we needed help.

Then we started looking for Sonic while we kept ourselves hidden.

As I kept my gaze on the tracker, I happened to have brought along with me as well, Tails and I suddenly heard a pained scream just up a few walks ahead.

"That sounds like Sonic! We better hurry and check to see if he's alright." Tails mentioned as he looked at me, already feeling really worried sick.

I nodded before we started running in the direction where we heard the pained scream.

Well...

I started running.

Tails only flew.

You get what I mean though.

Once we made it, our faces paled in shock.

Sonic was lying on the ground, gravely injured, while panting heavily in pain.

I cautiously approached Sonic before immediately finding out that he was attacked by a bear after seeing blood gushing out and all over the place, creating a huge puddle.

The injury was a few inches away from his chest.

Had Sonic been attacked and wounded directly at the chest, there's a high chance that he wouldn't have survived it.

He probably would've been dead in a few hours.

Or in minutes.
