Sapphire's POV 💙

"I-I don't know! All he did was look over at the DNA files I showed him before I explained that I noticed something odd about it." Tails mentioned.

"Tails! Why would you tell him that?! He's already suffered so much while still trying to process the news that he's a werehog permanently!

It's already gotten to the point that it's a heavy burden for him to bear." I say as I stared at Tails, completely in shock and horror.

Tails flattened his ears in shame.

"I'm so sorry...I didn't know that." He replies.

"It's okay. I forgive you. But, we'll get to that later for now..." I say as I looked at Tails.

"I'll contact the hospital and let them know what's happened..." Tails mentioned before he left the room.

"Thanks!" I called out.

Then everything was quiet as Knuckles stood nearby the door to keep an eye on us so he can try to help if something happens unexpectedly.

"Sonic...Please wake up." I said to myself silently as I kept doing CPR in hope that Sonic'll be okay.

Shortly after Tails contacted the hospital, the medics arrived a few minutes later and took Sonic to the hospital after I helped the medics transfer Sonic over and lay him down on the stretcher.

I tagged along since I was really worried about Sonic.

I know he needs me by his side.

He's told me this before that he doesn't want to be alone.

So, I'm not gonna let that happen to him....

No. Matter. What.

Knuckles came with me to not only get to the hospital sooner, but to get his broken arm treated and taken care of after he and Sonic had their little arm wrestle battle before what's happened now.

As for Tails, he said that he'll catch up to us in a bit after mentioning that he was gonna stick around and look for something that's back at his house.

While the medics were busy dealing with Sonic, doing everything they can to keep him alive, there was one thing that I did as we were heading straight to the hospital...

I never letted go of Sonic's hand.

-Later-

Once we arrived, me and Knuckles quickly got out so the medics can get Sonic inside the building faster.

We tailed after them before me and Knuckles parted ways once we were inside.

"I'll stop by and visit to see how's everything going with you two in a while. See ya!" Knuckles says before he waved me goodbye.

I waved goodbye too as I sat down on the bench that was outside of Sonic's room.

I looked at my hands and sighed a little before leaning against the wall and staring at the ceiling.

"I hope he's alright...His health before was perfectly fine when we were at Tails' until now..." I thought to myself.

After a few hours of waiting, they told me I can come in the room now.

"Finally! All that waiting, while being filled up with fear and worry, was torturous for me..." I sighed as I thought to myself again before entering in the room.

I looked over at the doctor and she shook her head sadly.

"We did everything we could...I'm so sorry." She said to me before closing the door.

I looked over at Sonic and sat down on a nearby chair that was on the right side of his bed.

He was hooked up to so many sedatives, including the IV, that he looked like he was on life support.

"Sonic...Why?" I said to myself. "Why did this have to happen to you? If only I knew what it was...I would've been able to help you too...."

I suddenly noticed the heart monitor line went flat.
