The path of stone rises ahead in rugged perfection, the light playing over the grey as if it were the fingers of a pianist upon gentle keys. Bending down, you placed your hands on your knees, heavy pants echoing in the silence surrounding you. Grabbing your bottle, you gulped down the water, sighing when the coolness spread through your burning chest. Placing the empty bottle back in your backpack, you opened the map that was tightly clasped in your hand.

"▲ Achasan Ecological Park → Pine Tree Forest → Achasanseong Fortress → Nakta Gogae Pass → Chinsu Valley → Achasan Management Office → Meeting place." (Imagine the arrows as the path)

You looked up from the map and spotted the name board, 'Chinsu Valley', just a little more and you'll finally reach your spot. You decided to stop for a while and gaze at the fascinating scene infront of you.

The grass was Eden-green and thigh-high to a thrush. The mountains in the distance had peaks that looked as cruel as a hag's teeth. It was the only part of the valley that looked off in some way. The rest of it was paradise. It wasn't just the sights that pleased the senses. The sounds, smells and tastes were out of this world also. The sky above the valley was a feast for the eyes. It stretched as far as the eye could see in a dome of cocktail-blue, punched with fluffy clouds. Squeaking swallows chased whirring dragonflies in a dance of life and death. Closing your eyes, you sighed, basking in the moment; the peace soothing your searing veins. But the momentary tranquility came to a abrupt halt when you heard a voice roar from behind.

"Aera!" You snapped your head around, only for your eyes to widen when it landed on him. When he saw you looking at him, he waved his hand in the air, a mischievous look on his face as he strutted your way.

'Oh shit.'

-Flashback; 50 mins ago-

After the chaos came to an end, you all were said to get back to your tents to rest as well as get ready for the hiking activity. Team captains were yet to be decided because when Mr. Yang asked whom the girls will like to select from both the teams, no one gave him an answer. It was quite a difficult task because most of the boys were trying to hide behind each other so they won't have to volunteer while for girls, no one took the initiative. So the last option both the mentors had, was to decide among themselves about who will be the captains. All you could do now was cross your fingers and pray that they don't pick you up.

Taking a last look inside your backpack, you zipped it before striding towards the tent exit. "That was hot, bro." You yelped and jumped back in horror when the tent curtain was suddenly lifted up by Taehyung, a teasing grin etched onto his face.

"Tae!" You slapped his arm to which he raised his brow, unbothered on how he scared you a few seconds prior. "Tsk tsk Piglet, getting scared by such small things." He playfully shook his head while you glared at him, a small pout on your lips.

"Whatever. What do you want?" You asked, swatting his hand away when he tried to pinch your plump cheeks. "Nothing much. Just came to escort you and compliment on how sexy your comment was." He moved to the side as you stepped out of the tent, closing it after.

"Compliment? What for?" Swinging your backpack on your shoulder, you both started walking towards the main cottage. He tucked his hand in his pockets before briefly looking behind. "Wait, where's Lea?"

"Oh she went to fetch some water bottles, took her stuff as well." He licked his lips, nodding. "Hmm. Oh well, about the compliment, I'm talking about tug of war."

Your face lit up at that. "Ah yes, well someone had to teach y'all boys some manners." You stated smugly, earning an eye roll from him.

"Yeah yeah, you messed with the wrong team." He tried mimicking your voice, his expression changing into a meme like look. You hissed, moving your hand forward to pinch him but before you could, he yelped and ran away, his giggles filling the air making you chuckle. Soon enough, you reached the ground and went to Azalea who was filling up her bag with water bottles. "Wouldn't that be too less?" You commented sarcastically, snatching a bottle from her grip and popping it open.

"Yeah well, beg for it when they get over." You chugged down the water, scoffing at her comment as she put three bottles in your backpack. You both then proceeded to walk towards where Mr. Yang and Mrs. Lee stood, ushering students to form a circle around them.

"So, we've decided on who we will have as our team captains for the activity and which student will be in which team." Mr. Yang then gestured towards Mrs. Lee to take over. She stepped forward, a wide smile on her lips. "Well, I will get straight to the point. I've decided those two names which I think are compatible as rivals because of their rivalry in my subject as well." Your eyes widened. There were only two students in her class who had a close competition and they were...

"Yes, you guessed it right. Let's clap for our Team captains, Jeon Jungkook and Min Aera." You sighed. Screw you for jinx-ing it earlier. You glanced at Jungkook and saw him stunned at the mention as well. "Come forward you both." You strolled towards Mrs. Lee and stood beside her, Jungkook following after.

Later, teammates were assigned to the both of you. Sadly, Azalea was put in Jungkook's team alongside Taehyung while Jimin was in your team. Basically, the activity is where everyone were provided with medium sized maps, the journey starting from the ecological park you stood in till the management office, the guards who will then drop you off to the meeting place by car, but until then, you gotta hike. The first person who reaches, his team wins while the losing team will have a penalty; making today's lunch for everyone.

-End of Flashback-

So now here you were. You looked past him to see no one. Mostly, everyone got tired and stopped in their tracks to take a break but you didn't stop because let's be honest, who the hell is gonna make lunch after such a tiresome hiking? Definetely not you. And so, determined, you didn't stop even for once and kept going. You were sure you left behind everyone and came too far from them but didn't know that a certain pig kept following you because you swore you saw him breathlessly plopp and lay himself on the ground which actually gave you hope in winning.

Not wasting a single second, you turned around and resumed walking, more like running away from him as far as possible. You ignored the throbbing pain in your thighs because you didn't want him to win, not to mention he now looked in a better state than you. It means he must have stoped and rested for a while, but then how did he reach you so fast? Seems like you did not come as far as you claimed you did.

"Aera, stop please! I need help!" Jungkook's voice resounded in the silent area, the only sounds heard were your footsteps rapidly thumping against the uneven ground.

"I know you're lying and this is your trick to lure me in!" You bellowed and walked faster.

"No, it's not! I swear just- ahh." You stopped in your tracks and turned around, only for your eyes to widen when you saw him bent and clutching his ankle in pain. He then suddenly fell on his knees, gritting his teeth as he applied some pressure on his ankle. You bit your lip, contemplating whether to go to him or not. After a inner battle, you said 'fuck it' and went towards him. He certainly looked injured and there was no one ahead or behind you two, meaning you can help him and then resume your journey.

"Kook, you okay?" You patted his back before taking his arm and swinging it around your shoulders. Slowly but steadily, you helped him walk to a nearby rock with half of his weight on you. After successfully making him sit on the rock, you plopped down beside him, taking in deep breaths to regain your posture.

"Oh fuck, I thought my back was gonna break." You rubbed your shoulders in pain because no offence, he was heavier than a damn hippo, you wonder what he ate to be like this.

"The fuck happened?" He stretched his leg forward, trying to lessen the pain. "I-I saw you leaving so followed you, but tripped in the process." He raked a hand through his dishevelled hair.

"Oh well, who told you to act like hulk huh?" You scoffed and turned your attention back to the valley you were admiring earlier.

A neon-blue ribbon of river ran through the centre of the meadow, a party of yolk-yellow ducklings scattered near it. The song of the river was very gentle as it went plinking and tinkling over the gravel bed. The music of the meadow came to your ears above the sound of the water: the dawn chorus, buzzing midges and the whispering of the wind. You could smell the sweetness of cherry blossoms and the caramel soft scent of flowers in the air. It was so soothing that you felt like laying down and drifting off to a deep sleep. You spotted some wild onions on the side and dug them up before you bit into them. You moaned when the fresh zingy taste that felt like electric sherbet reached your taste buds. Above, the clouds were passing by, leaving the grass and earth to steam gently like druid- smoke.

You turned to the person beside you to witness a look of disgust on his face and you raised a brow. "You did not just eat that shit raw." You shrugged and took another bite. "Want one?" He scrunched up his nose and turned away.

You retreated your hand back, "Uh huh, suit yourself." Finishing off the remaining onion, you eyed him up and down. "Show me your ankle." You went forward to push his jeans up to investigate the wound but he moved away. "No!"

Startled, you blinked your eyes. "Why? Let me treat it before it swells." You again went forward but he slapped your hand. "I said I don't want to!"

"But why?!" You raised your voice, irritated. It was already getting late and you had yet to reach the destination but a lousy pig beside you decided to throw tantrums at the same moment. "Maybe because I wanna act brave?"

"What...? Why do you wanna act brave all of a sudden?" He suddenly came forward, so close you had to bend back a bit. "W-Wha-"

"What if I'm tryna act brave perhaps, to capture your heart?" You looked back and forth between his captivating doe eyes with your widened ones. You ignored the way butterflies started doing somersaults in your tummy by how your nose softly brushed against his; masking it by contorting your face into a confused one at his words. "T-That doesn't even make sense...?" He abruptly stood up and coughed before stretching his muscles and then looking your way. "Let's get going now, someone's gotta win right?"

You stood up after him, only to lose your balance and fall down but you braced yourself from the impact using your arms. "What the hell-" You cut yourself off when you glanced down to see the shoelaces of both your shoes tied together, forming a single knot in the middle.

You gasped, looking up at the him dumbfounded and to see him stifling a laugh. "You!" Accusingly, you pointed your index finger at him before moving it downwards. "You were injured!?" Your jaw slacked open in disbelief when he shook his head and laughed louder. "You did not..." He winked at you as he started walking backwards.

"Cheater!" You yelled, frustrated and hastily moved your hands down to your shoes to untie the knot but it got tangled even more. "Everything is fair in love and war~" He sing sang in a teasing voice as he turned around and started to happily hop up the mountain.

'This mf....' You gritted you teeth. He did not just fucking fool you!

"Jungkook! Come back here!" His vocals only got louder in order to drown your yells as he skipped past the rocks with ease. You clenched your fists and seethed as you tried standing up, only to fall back down once again.

"BUNNY!!!"
