Extra: The Double Date
Porchay looks at Macau with an uneasy feeling while sipping his drink with a straw. Macau is eyeing him back with a sour look.
It seems what he thinks will be a good idea, backfired splendidly. First, he thought it would be cute to have a double date with Porchay and Kim. As Porchay is his best friend, he hoped that Kai could be a friend to Kim. Well, at least friendly.
He didn't think far enough to consider Kai's personality and Kim's reluctance that perhaps stemmed from their school days like Vegas had warned. Kim was somewhat forced to go because Porchay was eager to go. Being jailed in the mansion for weeks after the abduction can make anyone lose his mind after all.
So Kim had to go because for him there was no way Porchay wouldn't get what he wanted, whatever it was.
Kim is now sitting beside his boyfriend, having a staring contest with Kai for the last twenty minutes.
Macau grumbles under his breath and grabs his glass and gulps his own liquid.
After five seconds, each glass gets snatched by a hand.
Kai looks at Macau with a warning, "Slow down," he says. He is not subtle enough to hide his dislike. But that only fuels the fire in Macau's eyes. That doesn't make Kai back down, though.
No, no, no.
Seeing how obedient Porchay is to Kim, fueled the competitiveness inside of him. Kim may gloat that he has a better boyfriend than Kai in the future, if not.
That couldn't be far from the truth. He has the best boyfriend in the world. Everyone else is pale in comparison to Macau for Kim. He just needs a little bit more discipline to not defy him in public.
While Macau, unaware of what's going on inside his boyfriend's head is seething and a little bit envious of Porchay.
At least Kim smiles at Porchay as he says, "It's sweet but there is still alcohol in it, Baby. You might get a headache in the morning." He says it with soft-spoken words that seem to only be reserved for Chay. Porchay smiles back, but not as sweet. He too hates to be restricted when he thinks it is his time to have fun.
Has he ever stopped Kim from doing anything that he likes? No! So what should he restrict Porchay from doing what he likes?
Macau tries to grab the glass back but only finds Kai making a noise with his tongue inside his mouth. "If you're so determined to kill my vibe, go home Kai!" he finally snaps.
Kai looks at him in disbelief, "You're the one who insists I'm coming."
"Yes," Macau admits, "But now I insist you go home if you want to be like this."
"Be like what? You know how I feel about you drinking."
Macau really wants to hit him right here and there but settles to only look at Kai like the guy is out of his mind. 'Are you fucking kidding me?' is running inside his head.
"Chay, let's go to the bathroom!" he grabs Porchay's hand. Porchay is taken back but stands up. "Be nice," he says to Kim while giving a glance to Kai. Kim purses his lips but nods.
Left alone, the two men continue the staring contest.
"Why were you taking Mac to hunt?"
Kim gives him a hike brow. "More sooner than later, he has to. He knows that too. I'm not Vegas. I don't cuddle. He is a Theerapanyakul. He enjoys the money, then he must endure the work also. He needs to learn and wants to learn. Taking him with me and my team only highering the chance of him being alive."
"Aren't you cuddling Porchay?"
"He's not a Theerapanyakul."
"Macau isn't going to be a Theerapanyakul soon. He will be a Chaimongkon."
Kim chuckles and gives a wide smile. "Are you sure you want to severe the Theerapanyakul ties?"
Kai sits back. "I want him for him, not for his last name."
"The last name will catch you back in no time and you know it. Your family eagerly agrees to your relationship because he is a Theerapanyakul, even when he is a man."
Kai can't deny that. He is quiet for a minute then says, "I can afford him even without The Theerapanyakul name. I can severe."
"Then can he, Chaimongkon? He loves Vegas and Pete to bits. He begins to care for his cousins and Chay. When it comes to choices between you and his family, are you really sure he will choose you?"
"Are you?" Kai throws the question back in a flash. He ignores the fact that he isn't sure that Macau will choose him when it comes to that choice.
When it comes to feelings, Kai knows that whatever it is, love or something similar to it, he has it deeper and much more than Macau. He is willing to leave everything behind for Mac, but he isn't sure it goes both ways.
At least for now.
Kim laughs a little. "Yes," he says confidently. "He will always choose me even when it will break his heart to leave Porsche. But I will reason that Porsche has Kinn who will love Porsche so fiercely, he will not lack anything. You can't do that to Vegas. Because to Macau, Vegas and Pete are irreplaceable. So is the other way around."
"How can you be so sure?"
"Porsche had abandoned him before. Not deliberately, but still it leaves a window for a doubt and I'm gonna use the hell out of it."
Kai finally cracks a smile. "You're ruthless."
Kim shrugs. "It comes with the job."
"So what should I do?" Kai tastes the water.
Kim doesn't answer immediately. He observes Kai for a moment. "Stay close to Vegas. That's the only way. Lick his boots if you have to. Because Vegas is not only his brother. That guy is also Macau's parents since day 1."
"Getting close to Vegas is tricky. He doesn't like me very much even though we've been friends for years and come from the same clique."
"Then get close to Pete." Kim gives him a meaningful look.
He never thought at that angle before. Yes. He has to get close to Pete. "Thanks," he says. Kim nods. "But Porchay is going to be a Theerapanyakul, right? Will you let him hunt?"
"He is going to be my wife. No wives of Theerapanyakuls have to do anything he doesn't want to. Do Chaimongkons' wives have to earn their living?"
Kai laughs. "No. But I don't think either Mac or Chay is the quiet-obedient-don't want to do anything type."
"Don't worry. I've got that covered."
Kai is intrigued. "How?"
"I asked Khun to start a fashion business and I also told them to manage my chain of supermarkets and mini markets. They will keep him busy."
Kai hums. "I guess they can manage small businesses, yes. I'll see what I can do to smooth things out."
"Don't. They need to learn. They will come to us if they are overwhelmed, but they still have to figure the solution out themselves."
"Like I said," Kai raises his glass to Kim, "you're ruthless."
For a while, they are quiet and only sipping their drinks. "You know, I don't like you. Not even back when we were at school. You were always giving an air of holier than thou. A lone wolf or that kind of bullshit."
Kim scoffs at what Kai says. "The feeling is mutual, Chaimongkon! You and your buddies are definitely not on my wedding list."
Kai is tapping his fingers. "Don't you think they are awfully long for a bathroom break?"

Macau huffs and puffs. "It's ruined, isn't it?"
Porchay rolls his eyes. "More like a disaster. So what are we gonna do?"
"I already made plan B if they were being jerks, don't worry!"
Porchay doesn't like the sound of this. "What's plan B?"
Macau opens his mouth to answer but his phone rings and he answers immediately. "Yes. All set? Ok, we'll get there as soon as possible. Ok. Knock out Big for us then. Ok. Bye."
"Knock out Phi Big?" Porchay almost shrieks.
"Yes. It's necessary. He's too loyal to your boyfriend."
"Huh?" Porchay is lost. "Who called you anyway?"
"Phi Khun."
"Phi Khun?"
"Yes. I need him to bring your luggage and passport with him."
"Passport? Luggage? Macau, what is this all about?"
Macau looks at him while smirking. "This is the plan B, Chay Chay. We're going to Paris!"
