Chapter 12
Chay decided to sleep again after that. Maybe it's the drug that Kim gave, maybe it's just the fatigue talking, but he can't seem to open his eyes for more than five minutes.
His dream is a strange one. It was a scene like back in the day when they were still in a 'relationship' when they wasted the whole day under the blanket. His head was on Kim's chest, listening to his heartbeats while the pouring rain brought them music. Kim's hand was making a pattern on his back, gently lulling him to sleep.
'I love you', he said sleepily, waiting for the older to say it back. Kim's mouth was moving, but he didn't catch the sound.
What did he say? Did he say I love you back?
But then Kim's mouth was on his ear, whispering, "Sleep, baby."
The sound is so real.
By the time he opened his eyes, it was five in the afternoon.
Chay feels sluggish. He knows he needs to wash up, but he doesn't feel too icky like he used to when Macau dragged him to one of those frat parties.
Chay looks down and sees the pajamas. He puts the lines together and concludes that Kim changed his clothes yesterday.
He slaps his forehead and whines, for it seems like a hundredth time today.
Well, it's not so bad, he decides. At least his pants are still on. Who knows that guy actually knows boundaries, Chay snickers sarcasm in his head.
But that isn't scratching the fact that he is not icky, though ...
Chay's pondering stops when the door rings loud with several bangs.
Macau. Only he is crazy enough to do this in a mansion full of bowing people. The uppers will just unlock the door themselves. Rude people.
Chay opens the door and sure enough, Macau's cocky face appears. "Oh... Your majesty finally decides to get up," he says.
"Quit it!" Chay tells as he walks away.
"Do you know King Asshole was making me u-turning twice because he forbade me to disturb you?" Macau is making the air quotes now. Chay doesn't say anything. His best friend is agitated by the lack of response but decides to let it go. He fishes something out of his back pocket and throws it on the bed. "Your phone. Dead."
Chay, who only realizes now that he doesn't have his phone, smiles. "Thanks."
"I guess you were going home with your fiance last night," Cau says as he crashes the sofa. Chay is not amused. Macau gives him a backup sign.
Fiance, my ass...
Chay is irritated, but surprised he isn't that irritated.
"How do you know?" Chay asks. Cau was 'busy' last night, with boys and girls and everything in between.
"You mean you didn't realize he just sat there in the corner watching you?"
That makes Chay turn his head around so fast that he feels the ground swallows him. He looks at Chau with big horror-filled eyes. He did ... "What?" he whispers.
"Do you think that I will allow you to drink your stupid ass up without proper guard? Wow, dude, how low do you think of me?" Macau sounds playfully disappointed.
"I ... I ...," What is it exactly he's going to say? He gulps. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because The King gave this to me," Macau imitates a 'silence otherwise you're dead' code to Chay. "And I wasn't taking chances. If he is the one who give it, I will always assume he meant it."
Chay shuts his eyes hard, feeling the embarrassment making his stomach do funny flips. He knows how red his face is right now without even have to look in the mirror.
"That I expected," Cau continues, "What I don't expect is Phi Ash is there too. I know that the club is his and all, but ..."
"The club is what?" Chay shrieks now.
"It's Phi Ash's club. My hia is friends with him. I've told you this, right?" Chay shakes his head, in disbelief that his best friend forgot to mention this piece of information to him. "Oh, my bad."
Chay groans.
"People say he is busier than ever, but there is a 'you' factor here. I know he has a thing for you ..."
"He does not!"
"Chay, please. Don't insult my intelligence."
Chay has not come back to that. Sure, he got that vibe back in the day, but people told him that Ash is straight. He only dates girls and women.
"That guy is straight," he tells Macau this after he remembers that fact.
"Kim is mostly straight, but look at him now. Pussy-whipped for you."
"Mostly is not straight."
"He only banged two guys, I heard. A twink and someone masculine enough to choke you like your hia. Just out of curiosity, I suppose. Just admit you have that thing that makes straight guys wanna be gay for you!"
Really? Chay never knows about Kim's sex history. Must have been colorful, he inserts sarcasm again.
"How do you know all this?"
Macau shrugs. "Hia and the boys like to gossip, I have ears, so ..."
Chay just shakes his head at that. "I'm just gonna wash and we can eat something downstairs. I'm starving," he says, plugging the phone into a charger. Macau only nods and directs his attention to the TV.
Twenty minutes later they are down in the employee dining room, eating one of the most delicious fried chicken Chay ever tasted.
On the way, they met Kim who was talking with Kinn and Vegas. It looked important. Chay and he only shared glances, but his stomach was doing that backflipped and fluttering again. Chay knew Kim's gaze followed him until he couldn't be seen.
"Did you go home with anybody?" Chay fishes, trying to shake the feeling with a light conversation.
Macau shakes his head. "Go home with anybody takes commitment. There are hotels and other places for everything else." Yeah, such as the back alley and bathrooms.
"Ok, wrong question. Did you sleep with anybody last night?"
Macau squints his eyes. "I might ..."
Macau woke up in a five-star hotel suite alone, but it was evident that someone slept with him. He just didn't know who that someone was.
The weirder thing is, the bastard or bitch paid for the whole thing! Even the luxurious breakfast he enjoyed at the suite. Macau was more than surprised when he wanted to pay and checked out only to be told it was paid and not to worry about checkouts since the time is 'limitless' by the over polite and friendly hotel staff.
That was actually kind of insulting for the Theerapanyakuls.
Chay almost chokes on his chicken. "You might? You didn't remember? Asshole ..."
Then Chay remembers that he also didn't remember most of the parts of last night. He put a pause for that thought with a finger. "Actually, that can happen ..."
Macau is suspicious. "What? What happened?" Chay gives him a face that is hard to misinterpret. "You blacked out too?" Chay nods. "How blacked-out drunk were you?"
"I don't remember anything passed when the girl told you to lick her breasts after she dumped a shot on them?" It's a question mark because Chay isn't really sure.
"That's ok, that's not too long," Macau sighs a relief. "This is a one time I'm glad Phi Kim was there."
The way Macau said it digs something in Chay's mind. "He was there before this or something?"
It pauses before Macau answers, "Yes, that club incident you told me, remember? When that guy wanted to give drugs?"
There's a glint in Macau's eyes that Chay didn't like. He's hiding something. But Chay doesn't press. The walls have ears and mouths here.
After that, Chay gets the second help of chicken and they switch the conversation to gameplay until Kim shows up and sits beside Chay.
"Wow," Macau says, "We are at the stage of not even saying hello now, are we?"
"Hello," Kim shortly replies, not even looking at Macau. His attention is solely on Chay, who slightly blushes under the scrutiny. Kim pretends not to notice Macau gives him the middle finger. He grabs one of Chay's chickens after pulling his phone from his back pocket, earning a sharp, "Hey!" from Chay.
"Where is your phone?" Kim asks, leisurely, but the youngers know is a shielded scolding.
"In my bedroom."
"Why didn't you take it with you? You know that's important."
"It's dead."
Kim's eyebrows arch. "Dead?"
Chay huffs. He knows he has to explain if he wants Kim to give it a rest. "Macau just returned it back to me. The battery is dead, has to be charged."
"Chay ...," Kim gives him a hard pointing stare. He doesn't have to elaborate on how careless Porchay was. Porchay knows that. He knows he has to have his phone with him at all times for safety reasons and if that phone were to exchange hands with an irresponsible person, it could bring a world of problems.
Chay wants to scold back that it isn't Kim's business, but then his eyes catch a red-purplish bruise on the side of Kim's neck. His eyes meet Kim's after that. The older just gives him the look and a little nudge on the corner of his lips.
Then it's all coming back to Chay. Everything. All of it. Even the car scene.
"Kimmy ...," he whispers, yet again, in horror. He said that to Kim in a seductive-like manner before he ...
"Yes, baby?" Kim says in the same whisper-like manner, there's a playful tone in it.
Chay's eyes widen. He also remembers the way Kim whispered the same endearing calls to him last night.
'Baby'.
While he was tucked safely in Kim's arms.
Macau, who doesn't quite catch their conversation, frowns. But he too soon discovers the hickey. "Phi, is that a hickey?" he asks, puzzled. Why does Kim even have that? Isn't he into Chay?
Porchay jumps to cover Kim's hickey with his hands out of embarrassment. "No, it's not a hickey!" he says. Kim laughs, out loud and freely that it amazes the two youngsters before him and a couple of employees who clearly think the devil can't laugh like that.
His husky laugh and the face Kim makes when he laughs make Chay's stomach tighten in a way that makes the lower part of his body twitch.
'Oh, this is bad', Chay thinks. He is already down so bad for this man. Maybe even worse than in the past.
Macau persists, "Chay, I'm not that innocent to know it's a hickey."
"It's not!" Chay shouts. Maybe if he says it louder enough, it becomes the truth.
Then Macau puts one to another and his mouth makes a large gap, in disbelief. "What? How? When?" he asks, each time with increasing curiosity.
Chay wants to cry.
He slaps Kim's chest. The older still supports a large happy grin on his face. "Cover it!" Chay commands.
"Why? I'm proud of it," Kim replies smugly.
Chay is not proud of it.
"Did you go around looking like this?" This is already afternoon. Just how many people have seen this?
"Mm-hm."
All of the people in the mansion know then.
Chay groans and bangs his head in tiny on the desk. Kim's hand covers the surface. He gives Kim the death stare. It doesn't seem to work since Kim still looks like he is full of himself.
"Hia ..." Chay doesn't continue but Kim knows what he is going to ask since he replies with, "Last night."
Chay groans again, louder. "He will kill me!"
What Kim answer to it, makes Chay a little fluttered but also a little afraid.
He says, "Over my dead body," so calmly and reassuringly like it was an everyday fact.
