Chapter 6
"I can't say much, but my name is Vayala. I actually live in Vanaheim. I remember walking in the forest when suddenly this monster attacked me. I was able to fight it off, but fell and was suddenly in the park. Soon after that you arrived as well," she explained timidly her perfectly arranged story. "Good. As soon as you're really fit again, we can take you there again," Stark said immediately excited. "I rather think we should keep her here until we know why she was attacked by that monster," said the soldier. Vayala looked at him uncertainly. "That is not necessary... I can handle it well alone. I don't want to be a burden to anyone", she fended him off, knowing that the Captain, with a pure heart, would not allow that. "I also think you should stay. According to your story, the monster waited until you were alone and out of sight," said the Assassin. Tactical thinking. Because the danger there could easily land here. She only wanted to protect the people. But maybe she also believed that Vayala could also be a danger. "You heard her. She can manage on her own. We have enough problems on Earth already," Tony said. "Yes. And those monsters could be next, since she apparently came through a portal, which Jarvis had confirmed," Barton now interfered. "Well, I don't mind. But if she makes trouble, we'll bring her back," said Stark with a sigh, and this time he received no protest. Oh, she would be trouble. Very much so. But when the time came, these people didn't stand a chance. She would destroy them all. Every last one. She would make every human suffer for what they had done to her.
"Hey, it's nothing personal. Just a precaution," said Stark, who had misinterpreted her look. She tore herself from her thoughts and her gaze softened. "Well. She doesn't talk much," Tony explained to the others. "Then I already like her better than you," said Natasha with a smile. "Hey. I'm probably the most lovable person of all," he defended himself with a smile. The others had to laugh. Vayala began to understand how people were. But her hatred still continued to rage. Stark had spoken of problems... ...and the enemy of your enemy is your friend. So she wanted to go into it. "If you are in trouble elsewhere, maybe I can help", she offered with a smile "As a thank you. If you like, you can tell me about it." The others looked at each other. "You think I can't do this? Go ahead. I'll fight any one of you if it's necessary to convince you," she said defiantly and stood up. "Woah. Take it easy. We're not fighting you. But if you want to let off steam, there's a training room a few floors down," the billionaire fended off. Determined, she looked at him and went to the elevator. Wordlessly she got in and heard the Thunder God laughing softly. His goodwill she had won with fighting spirit. Interesting. As soon as the elevator opened again, she stepped outside and followed the short passage to the training room. Arriving there she took off her pendant, which was a real sword within a second.
An hour passed in which she showed her best and stepped back into the living room with a big grin, where the genius's mouth was open. Half of the training room had to be renewed now, because she didn't like to be called weak. "Just incredible," muttered Tony, pointing to her pendant. "How do you do that with the sword?", he asked curiously. She smiled. "It's just simple magic. Illusions and lower magic can be acquired by anyone with a little patience, if they have talent," she explained. She looked around again. Apparently, she had convinced the others. "If I could apply this to my suits," Stark began to brood. She smiled. This technology-obsessed human was probably helpless without electricity... and that's when the next idea came to her. Stark was dependent on his technology. Without it, he was no longer a great danger. At least not too much of one. Still, she couldn't underestimate what he knew. "I'll have to take a closer look at that... ...can I borrow your sword?" he asked. She examined him. "No," she strangled him. "Oh, come on. Why not?" he followed up. "I don't think she's about to give up her only protection," Natasha said. The Widow was really smart. Of course, she could defend herself perfectly with everything. But that necklace had been with her since she could remember. By chance Vayala had found out the magic part. "Just for a brief examination... the data could help me", Stark went back on it. If looks could kill, the genius would fall off the couch just that moment.
"People don't need magic. If they could master it, there would be some here," the student explained in short. "But you are also human," said Stark. "No. I'm not," she replied curtly, "I am from Vanaheim." Stark grinned triumphantly. "Yes, you are. You are a human," he insisted and pointed to the TV. Vayala looked suspiciously at the TV. A picture of a strange spiral was visible. The individual spirals were connected by struts. "This is your DNA", Tony explained, "it shows who you are, so to speak. And because of its composition I can say that you are a human being." Wordlessly she looked at the picture. No. She was Xandar's student. She used to be with the Vanen, just like he said she was. She wasn't human. Never had been. And she never wanted to be. Why would she? Because of the humans, she had only landed in the hands of Xandar and they were responsible for her parents' death. She didn't want to belong to the species that had destroyed her life before she was even old enough to cope on her own. But she recognized the picture as well, especially since the whole thing was written as text underneath as well as to confirm it. She looked at Stark destructively. "This is a lie. Human technology is not infallible. Where did you even get that from?", she asked coldly. "Well... to medicate you, we had to know what you were allowed to get... with the help of your blood we made a test," he said and became quieter and quieter under her gaze. "You humans are monsters. I am not one of you. I am not human. You're lying. You and your technology," she said angrily and stormed away. She just kept running... ...higher and higher... ...until she reached the roof.
