The Blood Of The Void Part Two - Simarillion One Shot
A/n: If this does become a story here is what the cover will look like
It's hard to make out but the image is of a floating island and there is a building that's falling apart in the background. This was both hard and fun to draw.
Now...storytime!
Ikleth leaned against a tree that covered him in shadows. He watched the blond hair elf with a slightly amused expression. Aegnor sat reading unaware that he was being watched for the past few days. "They are clueless aren't they," He said to the creature who lay at his feet. They still looked to be in their wolf form but when clouded in darkness and shadows a bit of the true form shows through. The wolf-like creature's fur looked far darker and seemed to be misty a bit. Their eyes had much more of a glow.
The creature gave a low hiss in reply and he just chuckled. "Do not worry. I'll have you do your part soon." He said and looked back up at Aegnor who was trying to get his book back from one of his older brothers. Ikleth titled his head and raised his hand slightly. He spoke under his breath and a small rock moved slightly tripping Aegnor. Causing him to fall to the ground and land hard on his knee. Aegnor rubbed his knee and winced a bit and Angrod bent down and said, "That was strange."
"Yeah." Aegnor said as Angrod helped him up and handed his book back. He then ruffled up his brother's hair a bit and said, "come on. Let's go back inside, I want to show you something."
He watched them go back inside and Ikleth gave a short chuckle. "Interesting..." Ikleth said to himself. He then snapped his fingers and vanished. He reappeared a distence from Feanor's house. He closed his eyes and spoke quietly and when he opened them he smirked. He saw exactly what he wanted too. It was Caranthir casing his the two youngest brothers out of his room yelling at them to stay out of his stuff. Ikleth blinked and cut what he saw short he stood up and stretched.
"Well. Looks like tonight I can start the process and by next week they will be all ready to be brought to the void." He said and looked at the creature and said, "I told you you'll have your moment. You will just need a different form for this to work."
The creature growled lowly as if in confirmation and Ikleth chuckled and pulled out two small vials. He held them up to the light and looked at the dark liquid swirl inside them. "Stay here...I will be right back," Ikleth said as he snapped.
He appeared in the house in the servant's area. He stood in the shadows and looked around as the servants moved around. He then saw the one he needed he waited till they were standing right in front of them before he held out a string with a crystal at the bottom. The elf looked at it and watched it sway back and forth slowly. Ikleth spoke in his ancient tongue once more and smirked when the elf relaxed and their eyes glazed over. Ikleth then said, "Listen well...tonight when you serve Feanor and his family his food you will put this in Caranthir's drink. You will do this and you will get it right. No one will see you and once Caranthir drinks the whole drink you will be freed from this spell and have no memory of this ever happening."
Ikleth then handed the elf the vial and the elf put it into his pocket and blinked. They shook their head and went about their business. Ikleth left and did the same thing at Finarfin's house to the elf that will server the food and drink there. He then went back to the spot where the creature waited for him. "Now. We wait." He said.
✴✴✴
Caranthir sunk low in his seat as dinner began, another meal of Feanor and Curufin arguing about something with crafting. Celegorm was saying something about hunting and the Maglor had music sheets out with a quill. Maedhros just was trying to eat his dinner in peace but the twins were blabbering something to him. This normally happens when their mother was out visiting her father. He sighed and looked at his drink and swirled around the wine. He couldn't help but noticed that it looked darker than normal. He just shrugged it off and took a sip. It tasted fine...just as he thought he was imagining it.
"Caranthir? Do you think throwing in a random C flat will sound interesting?" Maglor asked. Caranthir looked up at his brother with a blank face and he just shook his head and took another drink.
Maglor pouted and then turned to Maedhros and asked, "What do you think?"
"You are the one who knows the most about music," He replied. "It's up to you."
Maglor shrugged and went back to writing. Caranthir just sighed a bit and finished his drink and half of his food before he felt a bit strange. He felt the urge to lay down and just sleep. His body felt a bit cold he shook his head a bit and stood up. He normally left dinner abruptly so this was normal and none of his brother's paid much attention.
Caranthir climbed the stairs and the feeling got stranger and stranger. He was so tired and his body was so cold. His mind was fuzzy as well he felt as if someone stuffed his head with cotton. He staggered a bit and made it to his bed and covered his head with his hand. What was wrong with him he felt fine earlier. He was just so tired...he closed his eyes and fell asleep instantly. Ikleth who watched Caranthir from the mirror smirked and said, "One down. One more to go."
✴✴✴
Aegnor was eating dinner with his family and they all were talking happily about their day. They were laughing with one another and it was another happy dinner. However, as Aegnor finished his drink he started feeling tired and out of sorts. His body was cold and he felt this urge to just curl up and go to sleep.
"Aegnor...are you well?" Galadriel asked looking at him in concern.
"Hmm? Yeah...I am fine just feeling a bit tired." He replied.
"If you are tried maybe you should retire early," Suggested Eärwen looking at her son in the same concern.
"Yeah. I think that'll be a good idea," He said as he stood up. He warily walked to his room and laid down in bed. He fell asleep almost instantly as he laid down. Eärwen did come to check on him but he was sound asleep and she just smiled a bit and closed the door. He was most likely tried just from a long day. Ikleth smirked as she left the room and said, "Two down and now all's we have to do is wait."
Ikleth did not have to wait that long. Soon the rest of Finarfin was asleep and Ikleth stepped in the hall and waved his hand in a small circle drawing a rune in the air. He spoke quietly and then waved his hand out. Small orbs appeared and drifted through the halls and into the rooms of the other sleeping household members. The orbs were a simple spell to make sure that they'll stay asleep while he doses what he needs to. He walked back into the room where Aegnor was curled up asleep.
"It's time," He said looking at the wolf. The creature sat up and Ikleth held him his hand to it and spoke quietly. Darkness rose up and surrounded the creature and when it vanished a snake was its place. Ikleth nodded and the snake slithered up the bed. It stopped right by Aegnor's neck as Ikleth moved Aegnor's head to one side. The snake then struck sinking its fangs into Aegnor's neck.
Aegnor even though in a deep sleep shifted and his face twisted in pain. Ikleth just held Aegnor's head still and spoke harsh words quietly. This spell was a challenge to do and needed precise timing and concentration. Aegnor who was asleep but still heard the words jerked but Ikleth drew a rune in the air and waved his hand. Aegnor then froze and that allowed Ikleth to finish this spell.
When he finished he stood back and sighed. He turned Aegnor's head to the side and moved his gold hair over. He saw the two marks of the snake start to form into a rune. He made a small cut on his finger and pressed it onto the rune and said the last words to the spell. The rune stood out in the shadows of the room but after a few moments, it faded.
"There we go. Now let's get do Caranthir and be done with this spell. It is quite draining." He said and held out his hand to the snake. The snake crawled up his arm and waited on his shoulder as he snapped his fingers.

When Ikleth entered Caranthir's room he did the same thing as he did in Finarfin's house. He then did the same to Caranthir as he did to Aegnor. He stood up when he was finished and said, "So easy."
He then looked to the door as it opened and he an amused expression came to his face. Feanor was standing at the door and once he noticed Ikleth standing by Caranthir's bed he was ready to attack. "I am slightly suprised my spell did not work on you," Ikleth said walking to stand more in front of him.
"What in Arda are you talking about? What did you just do to my son?" Feanor asked or rather sneered.
"Never mind that and nothing that is your concern," Ikleth replied as he reached into his pocket and pulled out the string and crystal. "I would be very interested in finding out why you did not fall under my spell but this one will work."
Feanor opened his mouth to speak but as the crystal shown in his eyes he felt his mind slow and his body just stoped. He could not move all's he could do was watch the crystal sway back and forth and hear the words that this man said softly, they were far from any elvish he has heard. Feanor got lost in his thoughts about the words and the crystal. He suddenly blinked and shook his head. He looked around and saw he was standing in Caranthir's room, he frowned he was sure something was just happening. Feanor just sighed and realized his wife was right...he does work too hard some times. He just looked over at Caranthir who was sleeping soundly and then he turned and left.
Ikleth stepped out of the shadows as the door closed and said, "This is interesting...very interesting. He withstood a sleeping spell but this worked like a charm...I'll has to keep this in mind. Now, after a week we can move onto part two."
✴✴✴
When Caranthir woke up his neck was in pain and his body was sore. He felt so off he could not even explain it. He slowly sat up and then pushed himself to stand on his feet. He took some deep breaths and then after a moment everything settled down. He then realized he fell asleep in his clothes and he sighed. He quickly changed and then looked at himself in the mirror and he frowned. In the mirror, he saw a strange marking on the side of his neck. He turned his head to the light and frowned. It seemed to just vanish at the light. Caranthir just brushed it off and got dressed then headed out to start on his day. Yet, unbeknownst to Caranthir, Aegnor had a similar morning. Aegnor got up feeling the same pain as Caranthir did and he felt the pain in his neck. He also just brushed it off and went about their day.
Ikleth just watched them both with a smirk. He looked to the creature and said, "tell him that everything is working as planned. The spell is working through their body and they will be there by next week in this world's time. Also, tell him what happed with Feanor."
The creature who was known back to its wolf form gave a bow of his head and vanished into the shadows. The creature reemerged in the void and ran to deliver the message that Ikleth told him. They found him back at his home looking through old books and papers. He looked up as the creature approached him.
"If you're here I take it everything is going as planned." He said.
The creature growled lowly and he gave a small nod. "So I see. Well, nothing to be worried about if Ikleth altered his memory. Thank you for this report, go back to your master."
The creature just turned and ran off into the shadows. He leaned back in his chair and thought for a few moments. This was all just too easy but he did not mind since he knew the hard part was coming. Once Ikleth the prosses to prepare them for the ritual he had was indeed painful and would be hard work. Yet, he has some of the most powerful beings in the void to assist him. So, it may be hard but they'll get what they need. If they could not do this then everything they did till this point will be pointless and they'll need to start again. He just sighed and pushed his thoughts to the side as he sat forward and looked through the papers scattered across the table.
