February 1974

Kate POV

After a month in Sao Paulo / Brazil, I was finally back in London and had a few days off, had to pay bills, buy groceries for my apartment, cleaners and college supplies. I did not have time to rest. On Monday, February 11, my college classes came back and I took Roger's ride, also started my work as an English teacher, after two months of vacation. I was also researching publishers to send copies of my book. I have already seen three publishers and will still send copies of my book for review later this month. I hope to get it soon.

The boys said that the Sunbury Rock Festival performance in Melbourne, Australia was a fiasco. They explained everything that happened in detail, but it did have a good side, as soon as they returned to London, the music magazines praised them and they were voted the best young bands that are coming up. On the other hand, Michelle Ma Belle returned to distill its poison in relation to the band and all they were possessed of anger, mainly Roger. I told my friend that they should not worry so much about what Michelle writes, that they must prove that they are nothing of what she insists. The boys are also angry, because in general, many magazines and newspapers speak ill of the band. The media really sucks.

In the same week of college classes, I started working again as an English teacher, I went back to my Spanish and swimming classes, which is already in the end and I also started learning belly dancing, it's been fun.

Scott, my college classmate, is trying to get me closer to him, now I'm very careful with him, after all, I do not trust him anymore and as a representative of King's College students, I have to keep an eye on all the problems that may come to emerge, mainly between students and Scott is not reliable.

Roger POV

College classes came back on the eleventh of February and the same week, in the afternoon, the boys and I are having photo shoots with Mick Rock and Luke is also helping. The photo shoot is for the back cover of the album, which will be white and black side. Side 1 is the white side and we are taking pictures daily, with white background and we with white robes and a little paint on the face. The next side of the photos will be black, which we'll do next week. It's been fun working with Mick Rock who is an excellent pro and Luke is also learning a lot from him.

The days passed ... On February 16, my younger sister Clare, turned 21 and she had a party at his apartment to friends. My mother and my stepfather came from Truro, especially for my little sister's birthday and now she has become of legal age. Kate helped Clare prepare the meals. And on February 19, on Tuesday afternoon, the band got word that promotional copies of Bowie's new compact called '' Rebel Rebel '' were not pressed in time to be sent to the television show Top of the Pops; so the producer of the show program called Ronnie Fowler. Fowler was being responsible for promoting Queen relentlessly. He had been spending a band of more than twenty thousand pounds, spending on dinners with us, wines, then Fowler managed to fit our vacancy for the program, in place of Bowie. And the song chosen to record the clip was Seven Seas of Rhye. Fowler is a great music entrepreneur who bets on us, on our success.As soon as he broke the news to us in the afternoon, Bri, Deacy and I accepted promptly, but Freddie said,

"I'm not going to make Top of the Pops. That's rubbish, dear.

- The show really sucks, Freddie, but it sure will help us, it will help the band with the second album - Said to him.

Bri, Deacy and I managed to convince Freddie to record the Top of the Pops. And at the same time we went to a studio, which was in the program and we re-recorded a version for the program. At night it would be the recording of the clip, in which we would have to dubs us singing and playing.

"That'll be awful, my dear, we'll have to dub it ourselves," Freddie said in a drama.

"Freddie, do not be so annoying, let's dub it ourselves and we'll do our best," Brian said.

"It will work out fine," Deacy said.

We called our friends and we said that at night they could attend the clip recording because we got credentials for them. My sister Clare said she was going, Jo also said she would and Kate said that as soon as she left her job as an English teacher she would go directly to the recording location.

Kate POV

I leave my job at seven in the evening and get in my car and head for the Top of the Pops studios. Roger had obtained a credential for me, so I could keep up with the recording of the clip dQueen. I would have a Spanish class today, but, I checked out with the teacher, for tomorrow and I will do two classes in a row. I drove quietly, listening to Led Zeppelin songs that I am alsoa fan.

Half an hour later, I park my car in the parking lot of the recording studios. When I arrive I meet Jo, Clare, Mary, Chrissy and Veronica. Luke and my cousin Andrew were there as well as Tim.

"Where are the boys, I want to wish them good luck," he told Andrew.

"They're in the dressing room, finishing up," Jo said. "Andrew takes Kate to them and then joins us, my friend. The girls and I will have a snack in the diner. After all, they start recording at 8:30 p.m.

"Okay," he said. "I will not be long.

Andrew led me into the dressing room where they were finishing dressing.

"Excuse me, I do not want to disturb you, I promise to be brief, I came to wish you good luck," he said, smiling.

"You really came," Roger said smiling, hugging me tightly and kissing me on the cheek.

"You thought I would not come?" I smile at him.

- Maybe yes, after all, you get tired of your work and come here and today you would have your Spanish course - Said Roger - You missed your class.

"I'll go to class tomorrow, that's all right," he said with a smile. "Of course I'd come and take care of my dear friends.

"I'm glad you came, dear Kate," Freddie said, kissing me on the cheek. "Rog was already anxious, thinking you would not come.

"He was nervous," Brian said, laughing.

"It's a good thing you're here to welcome us, Kate," John said, kissing me on the cheek. "Thank you, your presence is important to us, after all, we're a bit nervous.

"Do not worry, it'll be all right," I told them. - And I loved your costumes, they look beautiful.

"Do you really think I'm okay with this costume?" - he asked Roger wearing a tight black pants, wore a white sneakers with black stripes and wore a black shirt with white open details.Roger's belly was out. And he wore silver necklaces around his neck that made him sexier. Her long dark blond hair was loose. Roger has a normal physique, is skinny, very cute, I prefer it that way, he is beautiful anyway.

"You look beautiful in that costume." He smiled at him and he smiled back beautifully.

I notice Freddie, Brian, and John in the eyes, embarrassed.

"Well, guys do not feel jealous, you look beautiful too," I said to Brian, Freddie and John who smiled.

Freddie winked at Roger and I and I felt ashamed.

"Thank you for your compliments, you're beautiful," Roger said to me, smiling, kissing my hands.

"Guys, I'll see you after the clip, good luck," I said quickly, and my heart was racing because of the way Roger looked at me.

I went to meet the girls and went to the diner, grab a snack, and at eight-thirty sharp, the recordings of the clip began, and the girls and I watched with gawk. It is very cool and interesting to see how the clip is recorded, the takes, the pauses. I realize that Freddie is the most boring because he does not like to dub himself and I smile when I see the boys, dubbing himself and giving the best of each one for the clip to leave perfect.

Roger POV

The recording of the clip began at 8:30 in the evening and it was until 11 at night, due to the pauses, the takes, which the director said he had to change, but in the end everything was fine.It was an incredible experience and they said that the clip will be released on February 21st at Top of the Pops. As it was late, with the end of the clip's record, everyone went home, but we all agreed to meet at Kate's apartment on Thursday night to watch the clip's debut.

Thursday, February 21, 1974.

It was past eight-thirty in the evening and we were all together to watch the clip's release on Top of The Pops. We ordered pizza for all and soda. Kate still thought about preparing a dinner for everyone, but she was tired from the work day and it would be unfair to ask her to cook for everyone, so everyone gave some money and bought pizza. We were looking forward to the premiere of the clip. At ten o'clock, the clip Seven Seas of Rhye in Top of the Pops was released and until it was fine. The boys and I are getting used to the spotlight, cameras and everything. Everyone congratulated Freddie, Bri, Deacy and I, my girlfriend Jo was there as well and congratulated us.

- That deserves a toast - said Kate smiling heading toward the kitchen and went after her , to help her with the glasses and champagne.

Kate would open the cupboard and take out the glasses and I'd get the champagne. As the kitchen in the apartment was small, Kate and I accidentally tore each other down and almost knocked over some of her glasses.

"Kate, a thousand pardons," he said to her, startled.

"It's okay, Roggie." She smiled at me.

I smile at her and our gazes cross and we are silent for a few seconds. I put the bottle of champagne on the table and helped Kate put the glasses on the table.

- Kate, I'm clumsy, sorry, I was already knocking you down and knocking over the cups as well - Said by putting a hand on his shoulders.

"Roggie, seriously, it's okay, do not worry," she said looking at me so beautifully and smiling angelically.

Kate has a face identical to Brigitte Bardot's, as well as blonde hair and dark brown eyes and such a beautiful body. Kate goes by anda draws attention with her angel face and woman's body. She has full breasts, big butt, very thin waist, my God, she drives any man mad, she's driving me crazy. I caress her face with my thumb and I watch her in silence and she also looks at me in silence.

"My angel," I said to her. "Thank you for being in my life, for being in everyone's life, thank you for your support.

She smiled at me gently.

"Count on me always, Roggie," she said, smiling.

Clare enters the kitchen, taking us by surprise.

"Hey, you guys, let's go with that champagne and goblet, everyone's waiting," said my smiling sister.

Clare, Kate and I took the champagne and the glasses and went to take our friends.

There are no more doubts and I've been holding on to this feeling for some time, but there's no doubt about it. I'm in love. I'm in love with my friend Kate. But what will I do now? I'm dating Josephine and I have affection for her and at the same time, I have compassion on ending such a long relationship. I do not know what to do.
