Talented, hard working and on the verge of ultimate celebrity, the band members of 5 Seconds of Summer are diving head first into a year brimming with badass shows and unforgettable memories. As they continue to play concert after concert in their 100 show world tour and prepare to release their second studio album, guitarist and flirt Michael Clifford finds himself in some controversy-- a 3 foot, 30 pound controversy.
After hearing the news of an ex-girlfriend's passing, Michael is hit with heartache and grief, but even more so when he retrieves the sentimental items that were left to his name. Including Melody Joyce, his biological 3-year-old daughter whom he never knew existed. At 19-years-old Michael is still trying to have fun while achieve musical milestones with his band of brothers. And staying out of the pages of gossip magazines prove to be difficult when an adorable little girl who has her daddy's nose and smile is clinging onto his hand.
As the band continues their journey from city to city, Michael embarks on his own personal journey of self-discovery as a person, a musician, and a father. While his tactics and ideals in nutrition, naps, and timed outs aren't the most conventional, and although little girl fashion isn't his forte (flannels aren't always the answer), Michael finds that parenthood is like writing a song. It may not come easy, but once the inspiration is there, it'll be a Melody worth listening to.
