January 26, 1988 changed my life. I had to go to Anita Baker's 30th birthday party. She reminds me of how old I'm getting. She is just a few months older than me. I really didn't want to go because I knew my ex (Hailey) would be there.

Me: Mother do you know where my tie is?

Momma: I have it right here. Don't slouch Michael! Sit up so I can fix it.

Me: I love Anita, I truly do but I really don't want to go. You know who will ben there.

Momma: Don't worry about her. Besides I think you should get out more.

Me: I'm getting old momma. I can't be doing this all my life.

Momma: You will find that special someone on day Michael. Just go out and have fun.

Me: I guess you're right.

Momma: huh I know I'm right.

I chuckled and finished getting ready.

Yn P. O. V.

Anita invited me to come to her house. Lord knows I didn't want to go. You see I don't have a problem with going, but I know Kevin would be there. He was my ex. I decided to stay by myself. I can't let my heart break again. I haven't been out all week. I been trying to keep myself busy. I was getting ready. I was about to put on simple clothes, but Anita let me wear her black dress. I must admit it was beautiful. I was in her closet trying the dress on. She was putting on her heels.

Anita: You need to go out more. Now you know it's a problem if I tell you that. Now show me your dress.

Me: *walk out the closet* I think this is too much.

Anita: Girl you look amazing. You look better than I did in it.

Me: Thanks, but I won't be here for the whole party.

Anita: You are staying here. Just spend the night.

Me: Naw I'm just gonna go home.

Anita: Please? * gives you puppy eyes*

Me: Okay...

I went to this party and I saw really good friends. I saw Hailey with some other guy. She kept trying to get my attention. I just wanted to stay calm. I went over to the bar and I saw this beautiful woman. The dress was perfect for her curves and she was gorgeous. She was sitting at the bar, playing with her nails.

Me: Well hello Gorgeous.

??: Hi

Me: What's your name?

??: Yn

Me: That's a beautiful name. Why are you here alone?

Yn: Anita left to go see her friend Hailey.

Me: Oh I know who she is.

Yn: Oh

Me: Do you want to dance?

Yn: Naw I'm good.

Me: Are you waiting for someone?

Yn: No, but why do you keep asking me questions?

Me: I just wanna talk.

Yn: I know there is other people you can talk to.

Me: I know, but I wanna talk to you. Plus you were here alone. I was wonder why a beautiful woman would be alone.

Yn: Well thanks for the compliment, but I just need to think. I really didn't want to come.

Me: I understand. Well how about I take you out on a date?

Yn: Sorry, but I'm not ready to date.

Me: *gets close* Well if you ever change your mind, call me and I will rock your world.

Yn: O okkay. I I should go. ( she was stuttering)

I promise you she is playing hard to get. I like it though. Two could play at that game. I walked away and saw she was shocked. I decided to sing for Anita. There was a stage in front of the room. When I got up there, I saw Yn playing with her nails again. I started to speak in the mic, so people could here me.

Me: Hey I just wanna say happy birthday to Anita and I hope everyone is having a great time. I want to dedicate this song to a special person in the crowd. I love you girl!

Yn P. O. V.

I couldn't believe he was doing this. I knew he was talking about me. He just kept looking at me. My mouth dropped when he started doing his signature dances. He looked at me and chuckled.

Anita: You know what I'm talking about. It's so obvious that he is talking about you. It was funny because his ex is jealous.

Me: Wow!

We both looked at the stage and seen Michael and Stevie were having a good time.

I went off stage and I tried to look for Yn. I seen her talking to Anita. It look they were having a good time. I smiled and walked up to them.

Me: Happy Birthday Anita! *gives her a hug*

Anita: Thanks.We will be celebrating yours soon.

Me: Not too soon.

Yn: So your are 29 years old.

Me: Yes, how old are you?

Yn: 14 years old.

Me: Quit playing

Yn:.....

Me: Are you serious?!

Yn: *chuckles* No of course not. I'm 25.

Anita: Her birthday is coming up soon.

Me: I'm gonna blow your mind.

Anita: I'mma let y'all talk. * walks away*

Me: Will you dance with me.

Yn: I can't dance.

Me: I'll teach you.

She took my hand and went to the dance floor. I was behind her, so I was thanking God. I think she saw me, but I tried to play it off. She laughed and we looked at each other. She is really sweet, but she be playing games.I grabbed her waist and we slowed danced.

Me: Why are you playing games?

Yn: My heart has been broken many times. I just wanna be friends with someone. Just good friends.

Me: I can do that.

Yn: Well you have other good friends. Why do you want to hang out with me?

Me: Because you are everything I need and more.

Yn: But we just met.

Me: This is the beginning baby.

I know she said she just want to be "Good Friends" But I'mma change her mind. You will see. She gonna be mine. We danced all night. Today was amazing.
