31 (Thriller + Bad era) *Part 1*

Happy Halloween everyone! I really hope y'all enjoy this imagine! 😉

Y/n's POV

At long last, my boyfriend Michael came out of the studio and plopped down in the chair next to me, relieved to have finally finished recording his song Thriller for his upcoming album of the same name. I just know it's gonna do so well when he releases it! But Michael, being the perfectionist that he is, wasn't satisfied with anything that didn't meet his strict standards. Once he sat down, I turned to him and smirked.

"Was that the last take Mr. Perfectionist?"

Michael chuckled at his new nickname. "Girl, I'm not a perfectionist."

"Really? The last five hours you spent hammering out that one detail in your song say otherwise."

Michael playfully looked taken aback before we both ended up in laughter.

"I am so glad to finally be done with that song! Now all we gotta do is make the short film. Gosh, it really wore me out."

I certainly agreed. Michael for sure looked rather tired. I tried to think of ways to help out until I got an idea.

"Hey, how about we go to a movie at the local theatre! We can watch a romantic or comedy movie since you don't like horror. And since it's Halloween night, I'm sure there won't be any people going to a movie that's not horror."

Michael thought about this for awhile until he turned to me and smiled.

"I like that idea! And it has been so long since we got to go out together." He scratched the back of his neck with an apologetic look. "I'm sorry about that baby."

I kissed his cheek. "It's ok Mikey. I know your work is important to you. Now, let's get to that movie already!"

With newfound enthusiasm, we leaped up and dashed for my car. Luckily, we were able to find a good parking place close to the theatre. Michael and I walked up to the person behind the booth and asked for two tickets to one of their shows. With wide eyes, he handed them to us without another word as we walked inside to buy some snacks and practically skipped to the appropriate screening room.

Luckily for us, it was just the two of us in the audience so we were free to do as we pleased. And of course, the first thing that came to our mind was...

"Food fight!" Michael yelled just before he threw a handful of popcorn at my face and laughed his head off. My face contorted in disbelief before I too took a handful of popcorn and faced him.

"Oh it's on Jackson."

He started running to the side but I got him just before he did, popcorn decorating his hair. Soon, we both were screaming laughing as we ran all along the theatre throwing our snacks at each other. The entire floor was strewn with popcorn, something I was sure the cleaners would get angry at us about.

Eventually, we decided put our miniature war on hold to clean off the popcorn from ourselves. We sat down with our clothes now covered in popcorn butter, giggling and watching the movie while we ate the remaining snacks we had instead of throwing them at each other.

Awhile into the movie, I was giggling about the scene and turned to Michael to make a funny comment, but he was missing. I was absolutely baffled as I was sure he was there not even a minute ago. I tried to reason with myself that he just went to the restroom, but I hadn't even heard him get up. Deciding to look for him, I stood up from my chair. A dizziness overcame me, probably from all that running I did earlier, and I ended up sitting back down. But when I sat down, it wasn't in the same chair from the theatre. Alarmed, I opened my eyes, only to receive the shock of my life.

"I–I'm in the house from the movie?!"

The theatre chair I was previously sitting on was replaced by a dark brown leather sofa in a huge wooden floor living room with a matching sofa of a much bigger size than this one to the left. In front of it was a coffee table on top of a rug facing the TV to my right. Even though the blinds on the windows behind me were closed, it was still obvious it was nighttime. I was hyperventilating as I had no idea how I had gotten here in the first place or how this was even possible. The longer I looked at my surroundings the more I felt I was losing my mind.

A huge wave of relief washed over me as I spotted Michael coming from the kitchen area. We ran to each other as quick as we could and embraced each other tightly, never being more relieved to see each other than now.

"Oh my God Y/n, I'm so happy to see you! This is so scary baby! I thought–I thought I was gonna lose my mind!"

We both held each other for an eternity in the comfort of our arms, his hand resting on my head as his other wrapped around my waist. With a kiss to my cheek, we parted from each other's hold but didn't stop our hands intertwining.

All of a sudden, Michael's face began contorting in pain as he dropped to his knees with a yelp. Concerned, I rushed over to him to at least try to comfort him but froze when he began to...transform. His skin became paler and even his clothes transformed until before me stood a man that looked like my Michael but had lighter skin, longer hair, and a white suit with a blue shirt and armband.

I was frozen with shock and had absolutely no idea what to do as I stared at the man in front of me who used to be my boyfriend. He stood unmoving and expressionless in front of me before his hand reached into his pocket as he pulled out a long knife, a sinister smile twisting his face. Without giving any more thought, I ran for my life with him in pursuit.

As I quickly found out, the doors leading to the outside were all locked, trapping me to the inside of the house. Just barely I was able to evade the tip of the knife sinking into my skin as I darted away. For God knows how long, I evaded this man's attempts to kill me as I ran throughout the huge house. No longer able to run, I currently was cooped up in between a few huge comforters in a long closet. I had no idea if this new man was gone or if I'd ever get my Mikey back. And the thought of him finding me here terrified me. But the thought of him killing me out there did too. So, I stayed in my little coop.

I heard my name being called but terror took over my body and mind, preventing me from getting out. But this voice sounded much more panicked and scared, like one that I was more familiar with. Hesitantly, I let one foot peep out slightly from my coop.

"What if it's that scary Michael?!"

I instantly pulled my foot back inside and reformed my bundle of safety. There was no way I was gonna go out if that other Michael was there!

"But...what if it's not scary Michael?"

This thought kept repeating itself over and over. Ever so slowly, I stuck my foot out again and placed the toes, then the ball of my foot, then the bottom, then the heel down on the floor.

"Okay Y/n, just one more foot."

Eventually, I managed to get both feet on the ground and pull myself out from the comforters. Slowly opening the door just a smidge, I peeked around the corners to see if the coast was clear as I tiptoed away from the door and into the walkway. But right then, Michael and I spotted each other. The color drained from my face as pure fear settled in once more and I bolted toward the nearest door, landing me in a bedroom. But before I could close and lock the door, he managed to edge his way inside.

Tears streaked down my face as I tried to prepare to face my doom but it wasn't working. I slowly backed into a corner and sunk down in my tears covering my face so I didn't have to see when he killed me.

"Y/n? It's me, Michael. Please baby, I won't hurt you. I think that...other guy is gone now. It's just me."

I so desperately wanted to believe him, but the rest of me wouldn't allow it. His hand touched mine and I jolted away and screamed, terrified he was gonna hurt me. Michael slightly backed away with an expression of sorrow but soon embraced my still thrashing self while he pulled me onto his lap. He buried my face into his neck as I still trembled from all the shock. His hands gently stroked the top of my head and down my back as he placed random kisses on my head.

"Y/n, it's me. Your Applehead. Please don't cry baby. I'm so sorry."

His caressing hands calmed me down, but I didn't wanna open my eyes just yet in fear that he turned into the other Michael. Finally calmed down, Michael pulled my head from his shoulder to face him properly. He slowly leaned in closer to my lips and placed a long, delicate kiss on them. I finally felt the sense of comfort take over me as we eventually pulled away and leaned our foreheads against each other.

"Don't worry Y/n. We're gonna get out of here and get our normal lives back. I promise."

I nodded and hugged him tight once again, not wanting to leave the safety of his embrace. Picking me up, Michael sat us on the bed before laying back on the pillows. My hands were still draped around his neck while my face buried itself into his chest. He draped the sheets over us and tangled our bodies together, but neither one of us could still sleep properly that night.
