3 - You Go For A Walk
You and Michael are walking through the neighborhood. The sun has already set and the moon is a small sliver in the dark sky. It's silent, except for the sound of the heels of your boots on the concrete and a few crickets chirping. The yellow-tinted street lamps dimly light the path you walk on. The environment is eerie, but in a beautiful way. Michael holds your hand tightly, but you don't mind. You know he's only clingy because he loves you.
"Y/N, listen to that..." Michael says, referring to the crickets. "They're making music. They're singing." he says, grinning.
You smile. He always finds something rhythmic or musical in everything. It's actually kind of fascinating, how he hears things in ways other people don't.
You've been walking for a while now and you're starting to get tired. Your feet hurt and it's late. "Michael... can we go home? I'm really tired."
"Nooo... not yet!" Michael whines. He gives you puppy-dog eyes. You both know that you can't resist those.
"Fine. Not yet." you say. He grins.
You continue to contemplate the musical aspects of nature that Michael pointed out when he suddenly sweeps you up into his arms. He is carrying you bridal-style and running down the path, spinning in circles and singing. You can't help but laugh. He's so funny and cute.
He's still running with you in his arms. "Michael, what on earth are you doing?"
He stops. "I'm carrying you." he says innocently with a smile.
"I realized, but why?" He sets you down gently.
"Well you said you were tired..." Michael said with a shrug. You giggle.
"Well, thanks for the lift," you say, smiling. You stand on your toes and give him a kiss on the cheek. Even in heels, you're significantly shorter than he is. You actually like it because he likes to carry you around like he just did, and you admit, it's fun.
Michael blushes. He stops walking and turn to face you. You stop as well. You look up at his face, which looks even more beautiful at night. His black eyeliner contrasts with his light skin, making his big brown eyes pop. One loose curl hangs in his face. The light from the street lamps highlights his nose and cheekbones. His eyes sparkle ever so slightly. As he blinks, you admire his long eyelashes. You can't stop staring at him. He's gorgeous.
Michael then leans down and kisses you passionately. He then takes your hand and you both continue walking.
"You know, you have a cute laugh." Michael says to you. You blush and giggle.
He giggles back at you. His laugh makes you melt. It's all the little things that make you love him. His laugh. His smile. The way he kisses you when you least expect it. His shyness. His generosity. He's perfection to you. You feel so lucky to have him.
A tear rolls down your cheek. Not because you're sad, you're just overwhelmed with emotion. You can't explain how amazing it is to have Michael. He's so good to you. Just the thought of him makes your heart melt. It's like nothing you've ever felt before. He makes you so happy. You don't know what you would do without him.
Another tear falls down. You almost feel like you're not good enough for Michael. You think he deserves someone as perfect as he is. You worry that he thinks you're not enough and that he might leave you for someone better. Another tear falls, this time because the thought of your life without Michael in it is making you very upset. You continue to silently cry.
Michael turns to you to say something, but he sees the tears on your face and gasps a little. He grabs your shoulders and turns you to face him.
"Gosh, Y/N, are you crying? What happened? Did I do something?" His eyes fill with concern. You tilt your head down and wipe your tears.
"No, nothing's wrong, Michael. It's just..." You stop your sentence because you can feel that if you continue, you're going to keep crying.
"What?" Michael says. He really looks upset. Suddenly you feel bad that you worried him so much.
"Really, nothing's wrong. I guess it's just... I feel so lucky to have you, Michael. I love you so much. You're so amazing... I feel like I'm not good enough for you. I'm sorry. Please don't ever leave me, Michael..." you spill. The tears are really coming now. You're really not upset, just overwhelmed with thoughts and emotions.
Michael just stares at you for a second, and then hugs you. "Y/N, why would you ever think you're not good enough for me? What do you mean? You know how much I love you... I tell you every day... I would never ever leave you... I hope you know that. Please remember that." He hugs you again. "And of course you're good enough for me. Better than good enough. More than I could ever ask for." You can tell by the tone of his voice that he really means it.
It feels so good to hear that from him. You needed the reassurance.
"I'm sorry I doubted you, Michael. I didn't mean it. I don't know what came over me..." you say. You're still crying, but only happy tears.
"Let's go home, Y/N." Michael says. He picks you up again and starts carrying you back to the house. You're not sure how long he was carrying you for because you fell asleep in his arms.
You awake slightly when he sets you down on the bed. He then lays down next to you. You brush a curl out of his face.
"Thank you, Michael, for telling me all that stuff earlier. I really needed to hear that."
He smiles. "Absolutely. And don't you ever forget any of it."
"I won't," you say. "Goodnight babe."
"Goodnight," Michael says. He kisses you gently on the forehead before turning out the light. He snuggles up close next to you. You love the feeling of his arms around you as you drift off to sleep.
