You pull a pan of mini red velvet cupcakes out of the oven and set it on the nearby hot pad. You close the oven, turn off the timer, and set your oven mitts on the counter. After waiting a moment, you transfer the hot cupcakes to a cooling rack.

When the cupcakes have cooled completely, you pipe a swirl of cream cheese frosting onto each. Then you hear the lock on the front door open.

You look back over your shoulder to see Michael walk in; home from the studio.

"Hi," you say cheerily. He walks over to you and sees what you've made.

"Ooh, cupcakes." He says, taking one. You put a hand on your hip and glare at him playfully as he unwraps it and pops the whole thing in his mouth. You raise an eyebrow at him.

"Nice to see you, too, Michael." You say and roll your eyes.

"Mm, sorry." He says, his mouth full of cupcake. "These are good."

"Thanks," you say as you start cleaning up. You're about to keep putting the ingredients back in the pantry, but Michael takes you by your waist and pulls you close to him. He looks down into your eyes for a moment.

"Hi, Y/N." He says, smiling at you. You smile back, and he gives you a gentle kiss. You can taste traces of the sugary cupcake on his lips.

"Can I have another cupcake?" He asks, flashing a cute grin. You laugh.

"Go ahead," you say.
