Michael didn't say anything else afterwards. He didn't even look at me. After he got done washing his hair thoroughly, along with his body, he was out and quickly dressed. He left the locker room without even telling me.

I hurriedly dried off and got dressed. I rushed out of the locker room and I heard Michael talking on the phone.

"Lynn, I said no. You can not come over tonight. I swear to God if you do, whatever we had, will be over. Ok? Bye." He hung up his phone running his fingers through his wet curls. 

Michael has a girlfriend or a fuck buddy?

Why the hell did he tell me he loved me then?

He did fucking take advantage of me. Stupid prick.

I didn't make any type of acknowledgment towards him. Nope. Instead I walked towards the door to leave the gym.

"Babe!" Michael hollered for me.

It didn't take him long to catch up to me. Michael is a fast runner.

"Babe, where are you going? You are going the wrong way." He grabbed my hand.

"I'm going home, Michael." I pulled my hand away from his, hugging myself as if it was cold outside.

"No! What? Why? You are coming home with me, remember?"

"Have Lynn to fucking come over it's what you are used to anyways." I spit, staring at him, rolling my eyes, walking away.

Michael just stood there dumbfounded.

He didn't follow me, even if he did, I still wasn't going home with him. I don't even want to be around him at this point.

I made it home safe and sound. When I got home, I walked over to my dog, who was just sitting there wagging his tail.

"Hi baby, mommy missed you today." I walked over and picked him up like a little baby.

Theo is the only man that I need in my life. I know that he is never going to hurt me. He never does.

"Come on, let's go to bed." I put him down on the floor and he flew upstairs to where my room is.

I made sure the door was locked, before I started upstairs. I walked in my room and Theo was already under the blankets waiting for me.

My phone kept vibrating in my pocket - so I checked it, laying down in my bed.

It was from Michael.

Coach J 🏀: *Erica, why did you leave?*

Coach J 🏀: *You didn't even let me explain.*

Coach J 🏀: *I didn't even know you heard the conversation.*

Coach J 🏀: *Can I call you? Please?*

Coach J 🏀: *Erica can we please talk about this?*

Coach J 🏀: *You know I would never do anything to hurt you, baby.*

Coach J 🏀: *Fine, you leave me no choice.*

I didn't know what that meant, but I put my phone on charge, laying it down on my nightstand.

As soon as I got comfortable, someone was banging on my front door.

Theo started barking, jetting down the stairs.

"Theo, on the couch now." He ran over to the couch flopping down on it.

I opened the door and it was Michael. I shut the door - well thought I did but his foot got caught in between.

He snuck himself inside of my house. This motherfucker.

Theo started barking and growling at Michael from the couch. Especially when he made his way towards me.

"Theo, that's enough it's okay."Instantly he stopped barking and growling.

"Baby, please talk to me." He said reaching out to touch me. But I didn't allow him to.

"I don't have anything to say to you." I lied. I had a lot to say - just no energy to do so.

"Can you listen to me then at least? You have to let me explain."

"I don't have to do anything. I listened to your whole conversation, I don't need an explanation."

"It's not what you think it is."

"And what exactly is that? Huh? There is no logical explanation about what I heard."

"Lynn is someone who I have had a fling with on and off for a little over a year. Okay? She is no one important to me."

"Really? Because you didn't even end it when you were on the phone with her, after you told me that you loved me. The only thing you said was that if she were to come over, whatever you had will be over. It seems like to me that you still want her."

"Babe, I only used her as a distraction away from you. I don't want her anymore, I want you. It was the only way to stop myself from devouring you, time and time again. Trust me when I tell you that I do love you."

I want to believe him - I really do. But I have had my heartbroken too many times in order for it to happen again. Especially for someone who I am actually in love with.

"Michael.." I sighed.

"This won't work, okay? You, me, it should have never happened. Let's just stop now before we are in too deep."

"What? Baby.. no. I don't want to stop. We just started something good, why would you want to end it?"

"Michael, you were ranked as the top girls basketball coach, in all of Indiana. Do you know how many girls want to be coached by you? I know that you love being a coach, we shouldn't risk it and cause you to lose your job. Then the girls' university basketball team will suck without you."

Which is true. The governor ranked him as the best coach in Indiana 2 years ago. We have always been undefeated and won every championship. I can tell he loves coaching. I don't want to ruin that for him.

Michael walked over to me and held my face delicately in his hands.

"An award is just a reward babe. It doesn't mean anything. Erica, I have wanted you since the first day you tried out for the basketball team. Now that I finally have you, I am not going to let you slip away from me. We will get through this together, okay? I would never ever jeopardize you and your career. What happens outside of the gym is our business. Trust me."

"But Michael-" He stopped me from talking by placing his lips on mine.

"Stop worrying so much babe. Now can we please just go watch a movie or something? I just want to lay down and hold you in my arms."

"Y-you want to stay the n-night with me?" I don't know why I all of a sudden got nervous.

"I was planning too. Not unless you want me to leave." I grabbed his hand and lead him upstairs to my room.

Theo beat us to my room and took his spot in my bed. Which is right beside of me.

"Theo, you are going to have to move buddy." I walked over and petted him. He rolled over so I could pet his belly.

"Wow. Your room speaks you babe." Michael said right behind me.

"Thank you, I guess. It is nothing fancy though. Just a normal room." I giggled.

"It matches your personality and I love that an you." He said turning me around to face him.

"My beautiful, perfect baby." He wrapped his arms around my lower back, pushing me closer against his body. I wrapped my arms around his neck, giving him a kiss for once.

It slowly progressed, but before it got heated any further he stopped.

"If you just want to watch a movie and cuddle we can. We don't have to do that."

"Okay, I would like that. Any movie in particular?" I asked him getting under my blankets, while he did the same after taking his shoes off.

"I'm with you, I don't care what we watch."

I turned on a romantic random movie and that's how we fell asleep.
