Chapter 62: Revenge is Not Sweet.
Jordan's p.o.v.
By nightfall, guard Tom still hadn't come back yet.
And I was getting extremely worried that maybe he'd done something to himself, but why would he? He was a strong and peaceful dude, he wouldn't do that stuff...
I sat by the double doors of the tower and continued to wait. I'd been sitting there for a few hours.
I couldn't help but worry about him. He was one of my best friends, how could I not?
My communicator beeped and I held it up to answer the call. It was from...Nade? Why was Nade calling me?
I pressed the answer button, and Nades frantic voice answered.
"Dude, get down to Tucker's place now, there's like a million bots over here trying to kill us! I don't even know where they came from! They just started coming up outta the ground and attacking us! Tom won't answer my calls and he's not at his place, I don't even know where he is. Do you know? Don't answer that, just come here now! There's only couple of us!" The call ended and I jumped up immediately to get my armor and rapier. Bots? And they came out of the ground? Was Mianite trying to kill us?
I'd have to find both of the Toms later.
~
Wags p.o.v.
I couldn't keep up with this on slaughter much longer, it was too much.
As soon as I'd zap one bot, another would take its place. My friends had disappeared from my view, they too were trying to slay these resilient machines. My mana would run out shortly and I had no clue as to what I was going to do then.
I don't think I'd ever been so scared in all my life.
The bot I was currently fighting tried once more to penetrate its blade into my stomach, and I dodged at last moment. I did a star falling spell and the bot shattered into a million pieces, and another took its place.
But this time when I tried my spell, it refused to work. I was out of mana.
"Sonja! Tucker! Help me!" I shouted over the crowd of whirring bots coming towards me.
A blade grazed my face and I winced, I ran as fast as my legs could carry me away from the bot. I ran from the compound and managed to escape before a bot could slice me up. I couldn't fly in Tucker's compound, he had some sort of new force field that prevented intruders from flying.
This was the worst possible time for him to have done that.
"Wag!" Some one yelled my name. I turned my neck to the side and saw Jordan landing from his flight, a panicked expression on his face.
"Jordan, oh my goodness! You must come help, the others are still inside of the compound! I've run out of mana and I'm as good as useless, save them!" I tugged at his sleeve and began pulling him in the direction of the bits, when he stopped.
"I'll just fly over, stay out here okay? I'll try to find out where the others are."
"No! You can't fly inside, Tucker's put a spell on the place that keeps intruders from flying. You're going to have to walk in and fight them back."
"Okay, I think I can do that. Stay here, I called Ianite and told her to come help. She said she'd be here in a few, be careful until then. I'll be right back!" He strapped a bow over his shoulder and ran into the compound, the sound of whirring and beeps came from the doors as he opened and closed them back.
I sighed and tried to calm my breathing and heart rate. I hated situations like these, where I was completely vulnerable and useless.
"Leave me alone man! I told you I was sorry! Put the weapon down, there's no need to lose your shit about it!" I heard shouts in the distance.
Who was that?
"You will pay for your crimes, Syndicate. You will die for your crimes! For the revenge of my friend!" A squeaky voice yelled back.
Wait, I knew that voice. I've heard it before.
I see Tom first, his blue hair was easy to spot from a far away distance. His jacket was flailing behind him as he ran for his life. But from who exactly?
My question was answered immediately as I saw Guard Tom, in a full suit of dark green armor, chasing after Tom. He had a huge rapier in his hand, and my heart immediately sunk to my stomach.
What do I do?
"Wag! Wag help me!" Tom screamed as he ran faster away from the man chasing him, but Guard Tom was faster.
"I-...I can't! I am out of mana! Just keep running!" My voice wavered in fear for my friend. He was growing tired, I could tell. His steps were faltering and he was getting slower and slower.
Where was Lady Ianite?!
"Some one help him!" I yelled, hoping to get someone's attention.
The doors to the compound opened, and Jordan along with Nade exited. Then Tucker and Sonja. Then Lady Ianite and the rest.
"Wag? What's wrong?" Jordan asked, and his eyes fell on scene.
But it was too late for them to do anything.
Guard Tom plunged his rapier into Toms back, and Toms eyes widened as his body came to a stop. He collapsed on the ground, almost in slow motion, as blood soaked through his grey shirt.
"NOOO! NO!" I heard a blood curdling scream. Jordan ran to Toms broken form, his arms immediately going around his body. His sobs filled the air, and my eyes watered at the scene. Tom had gotten stabbed because I failed to be useful.
I'd never truly seen Ianites wrath before, not until that day.
She practically teleported next to Guard Tom, while Nade ran towards him.
Nade tackled Guard Tom and pinned him the the ground, as guard Tom wiggled and squirmed to get out of his grasp.
"I was only getting justice! You understand that, getting justice!" Guard Tom tried to explain himself to the already enraged Ianite.
"Justice is not killing innocent lives for your own selfish beliefs! Justice is balance and forgiveness! You Mianitees are merciless and selfish creatures, you shall pay for what you've done. I'll make sure your destined fate is dastardly," she hissed through her teeth.
"Hey lady, do I have permission to beat the shit out if him?" Nade asked with an evil smile.
She smiled as well. "Do what you wish to him, just don't kill him. Yet." She moved her death stare away from Guard Tom, and then back to Jordan and Tom.
Tom was still alive, thank the gods. Champwan was trying to remove the rapier that was still lodged in his side and Tony was trying to move Jordan away, but Jordan refused to leave him.
Tom was groaning in pain, but he was obviously unconscious.
Ianite walked to them, and held Jordan while he sobbed at his nearly dead lover.
Nade stood from guard Tom, who now had his wrist and ankles bound together.
"I was only doing what was right! Please just leave me be!" His voice was filled with regret. But I didn't care.
"Frankly, you inconsiderate bastard, I don't give a damn." Nade kicked him in stomach, and guard Tom whimpered in pain.
A cage appeared out of nowhere, and I assumed Lady Ianite was the one who made it appear. It hovered slightly, before lowering on top of Guard Tom. The binds on his wrist and ankles became undone and he stood to face us.
Champ and the modesteps carried Tom towards their new hideout, which was located close by.
As they began to walk away, Jordan gave Tom one last kiss on this cheek before they took him away to operate.
His eyes went to Guard Tom.
Jordan stormed over, he looked like a mixture of depression and full rage. His face was wet with tears, his cheeks had been sucked of all color. His fist were clenched at his sides as he stood in front of guard Tom.
"Captain, I did not wish to-"
"SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP! How could you do this?! I showed you nothing but kindness! I gave you a home, food, friends! I told you the truth about everything! And you try and kill the only person that's keeping me alive?!"
"I only wanted to hurt Syndicate! I didn't want hurt you Captain! None of you were my target, I was going to leave you be!"
"You didn't want to hurt us, huh? THEN WHY ARE THERE BOTS TRYING TO KILL US?! DID YOU SEND THOSE TOO, TOM?!"
"Yes...I was only sending them to distract you! So you would not interfere with my plans!"
"I don't care what you're intentions were. Don't you ever, and I mean EVER, come near me again. I will kill you, I don't care how sorry you are. I hope you get the death sentence in your trial, you monster." Jordan turned to walk away, but guard Tom had something else to say.
"But he is a nuisance! Syndicate deserved to be sent away from this world, he was only hurting you and all of your friends!"
Oh dear.
Jordan turned as slowly as he could, his eyes no longer wet with tears, but filled with rage.
He ran to the cage and reached his hand in to punch the guard in the face, and succeeded.
The guard fell to the ground and held his stinging cheek.
"NUISANCE? NUISANCE?! HES THE ONLY REASON IM ALIVE! IF HE WAS A NUISANCE, THEN WHY AM I STILL HERE?! ANSWER THAT YOU BASTARD!" Tucker finally stepped up and pulled the sobbing Jordan away from the cage.
Jordan jerked away and continued to sob into his hands as he fell onto his knees.
He needed a friend. At least I could be that for him.
I walked to his sobbing form and placed an arm gently over his shoulder. He took my offer of kindness, and hugged me tightly as he cried over his dying love.

Jordan's p.o.v.
"What if he is dead? What if they're not telling us? Oh my god, he's gone..." My voice shook as I spoke, much like the rest of my body did when I tried to move it. I was shaking all over. I knew he was hurt badly.
"He is not gone, you need to remain calm Jordan. Why don't you go wash your hands? I'll let you know if they say anything about his condition." Wag placed a hand on my back and patted me in a comforting manner.
I stared at my hands, they were covered in his blood. I didn't want to leave him, but they made me.
It's been hours since they took him through those doors.
Everyone stayed for a while, but eventually they had to leave. Tucker and Sonja had to go clean up the rest of the bot pieces that covered Tuckers yard, we had dismantled all of the bots. Wag stayed with me though. He said he wouldn't leave until I did. He's a good friend.
"No...no I wanna stay." I sniffled and dried more tears from my cheeks. I couldn't stop crying.
"Okay...just keep an open mind, okay? He's probably fine. He's probably waiting for you."
I shifted my body in the chair and pulled my knees up to my chest. I closed my eyes as more tears spilled from them.
"I trusted him Wag...he betrayed me." I thought of guard Tom, as thunder boomed over the roof of the small underground house the Dianitees had built.
"The trial will be tomorrow. Ianite will be the judge, and we will all decide the best punishment for him. I promise he will get what he deserves."
"Wag...if Tom doesn't make it, then there's nothing left for me back home..." My words were true. If Tom died then there was nothing left for me to live for.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean there's literally nothing else in life I want to do. If he's gone then...I don't really see a reason for me to live anymore."
The thought of living without Tom just seemed blank. I had already thought of our future together. And if I couldn't have that, then what else is there?
"Jordan...don't say things like that. You have a bright future. Even if he dies, which he won't, you should still carry on and attempt to be happy."
I sighed and leaned further into my chair, my knees hiding my face. I was acting selfish. But I couldn't help it! He's everything to me...
The door to the operating room opened, and Champ walked out. He was drying his bloody hands off with a towel, and my stomach churned at the sight of my lovers blood.
"Hey...so uh, he's awake right now but...he's really hurt. Dec had to take a quick break and go get more pain killers and stuff...if you want to come see him then it's cool. He's really out of it though..."
I jumped up immediately and pushed past Champ to get in the room. I didn't care if he was out if it, I just wanted to see him.
"Uh Sparklez, just don't get too upset about how he looks. It may look really bad but...he's strong, dude."
I didn't understand what he was talking about, until I saw him.
Blood. Everywhere. He laid on a blood spattered bed, the sheets stained by the violent color.
They had taken off his shirt, bloody bandages had been placed on the side where the rapier had pierced through. They didn't seem to be holding back the blood flow, because small drips were slipping out from underneath the bandages.
He was awake, but his eyes were focused on the floor as if they'd close at any moment.
He looked...tired.
Champ rushed over to his side and began to change the bandages. By the looks of it, he must have changed it at least twenty times in the last few hours. I saw a pile of used ones next to the bed.
"T-...Tom?" My voice cracked. I was already crying again.
His sleepy eyes looked up slowly and he squinted to see who it was. He seemed to recognize me. Thank the gods.
"Hi." That one word was all it took for me to break down. Sobs erupted from my throat as I looked him over again.
He was dying. They didn't tell me, but I could tell he was.
"No...don't cry. Come here." He put a weak smile on his face and reached a hand out towards me.
I gladly took it, and sat down on the clean side of the bed. I wanted to hug him, but I was afraid I'd hurt him. He looked like he was in enough pain already.
"Tom...are you dying?" The question was more of a sob.
He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pressed his pale face to mine.
"I think so. But I wouldn't worry about it, Dec and Champ are pretty good at this stuff. Stop crying, you're gonna make me cry, you sausage." He kissed my cheek. His lips were ice cold.
"What if...what if you do die? I can't-..." I started sobbing again.
"Sparklez stop...if I do die, you shouldn't get all torn up about it. Just forget about me and move on." It sounded so simple. But it wasn't that easy.
"I'm sorry...I should've known he'd do something horrible to you...I just trusted him...I shouldn't have." I leaned against his shoulder. He sighed.
"No one would've known he'd flip out...it's not your fault. Just be happy right now, okay? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pass out in a couple of minutes, so just let me enjoy happy Sparklez for a little bit." I nodded and closed my eyes as I listened to his steady breathing.
"How many kids you want?" The question caught me off guard. He usually ignores the topic of kids.
"Uh...I dunno. Just one I guess? But if you're not gonna live then-"
"If I do live, you want a boy or a girl?" He ignored my worrying about his death.
"A-...a girl." I was fine with whatever gender the kid was. But a little girl would be nice...
"Me too. I can't wait to have a family with you, Sparklez. I love you."
"I love you too..." I looked up for a moment at his face, and I could see his eyes starting to close.
I didn't want him to sleep.
I might never see him again.
"Tom, stay strong for me...and for that little girl you want. I'll be waiting for you when you wake up. Goodbye," I whispered as I kissed his cheek.
"Bye..." He whispered back. His eyes closed together, and his head began to fall. I raised him up and made sure he was comfortable.
Although I wasn't sure he could be, the whole time he was talking he sounded like he was holding back his pain.
The back door to the room opened, and Dec walked in holding a few pill bottles. He too had blood covering his hands, but he was wearing gloves. He looked tired, but I guess anyone would be if they had been doing surgery for hours.
"Hello Jordan, how are you?" He sat down his bag full of supplies and handed the pill bottles to Champ, who had been standing silently in the corner during my moment with Tom.
"I'm okay I guess...it's time for me to go, isn't it?" I sighed.
"I'm afraid so. We will try our best." He held a solemn expression.
"I hope so..." I looked to the sleeping Tom, his face contorted with pain.
"We'll let you know as soon as we get finished. It won't be long..." Champ tried to comfort me.
"Okay. I'll be in there..." I got up from the bed and gave one last look to my dying boyfriend. The blood stained sheets, the dirty bandages, and Toms expression were too much.
I needed to get out of this house.
