"Yes, Y/N?" answered the tired voice of your best friend.

"Wanna walk home together?" you asked him eagerly, practically skipping as you fell into step beside him.

"No, you're annoying."

Sure, why not. It's not like I have any other friends.

"Of course you have other friends, Hitoshi! What about Aizawa?"

"Hey! I told you not to read my mind without permission! And besides, he's more like my dad than my friend." he said dismissively.

"Well, I'm worth a whole army of friends!" you said happily.

You sure are.

You were laying on your bed, homework forgotten. You just couldn't stop thinking about your best friend, Hitoshi.

You two had become fast friends at the beginning of the school year because of your similar quirks and opposite personalities.

You had both been bullied before for having 'villainous quirks' so neither of you really had any other friends.

You both had each other and that had always been enough. He was your very best friend and nothing more. Okay, maybe you did think about him a lot, your face felt warm whenever he gave you a rare complement, your heart fluttered when he smiled and sometimes you felt this weird urge to kiss him, but that was normal for best friends right?

Crap, you definitely had a crush.

You doubted he felt the same, so you decided to keep this newfound information to yourself. You could just read his mind, but that felt like an invasion of privacy.

Screw it, you'll tell him tomorrow.

But what if this ruins your friendship?

"Hey, Hitoshi! Can I talk you for a second?"

"Of course. We're walking home together aren't we?"

"Yeah." you answered nervously.

"So, what did you want to tell me?" he asked straightforwardly.

You took a deep breath. You had stayed up until one am thinking of every possible scenario, so you felt prepared.

"I don't want this to affect our friendship... Well, I do but... I just don't want to loose you and..."

"Spit it out." he interrupted like the polite and patient gentleman he is.

"I like you."

He froze, eyes widening. You waited anxiously for an answer, watching his expression carefully for any sign of what he was thinking.

"As in, more than best friends." You clarified.

After a while of still no reaction, you decided to read his mind as a last resort.

Well, you broke him.

"I'm sorry, I just thought you should know." you said, trying to hide your sadness. "I understand if you don't want to be friends anymore."

"You're right."

Your heart dropped.

"I don't want to be friends anymore."

Your eyes started to water as you began to turn away. Your heart was breaking but Hitoshi wasn't finished.

"I want to be more than friends."

As soon as you'd turned back towards him, a hopeful expression on your face, he crashed his lips into yours.

You gave a muffled 'eep!' before melting into the kiss. You wrapped your arms around his neck and you stayed like that for a long while.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked, finally breaking the kiss.

"Of course." you smiled, happier than you had been in a long time. "We can call ourselves the 'Mind Couple' or something."

He snickered before grabbing your hand and continuing your walk. You blushed slightly at his unexpected boldness, but didn't pull your hand away.

I love her so much.

"I love you too."

You and Hitoshi had been together for a while so you figured it was about time he come over for a sleepover. He had already met your parents obviously, being your bestest friend, so that wouldn't be a problem.

You decided to ask him if he was free tonight.

"Hitoshi!!!" you exclaimed, opening the door.

"Hi, Y/ - oof"

You threw yourself onto him, hugging him tightly. He put his arms around after a second of hesitation.

"Good to see you, Hitoshi!" said your mom from somewhere behind you.

"Thank you for having me, Mrs. L/N." said your boyfriend politely.

"Come on!" you said, grabbing his hand and pulling him upstairs. "Let's watch a movie!"

The two of you sat down on your bed and wrapped yourselves up in a fluffy blanket.

"What are we watching?" he wondered as you grabbed the TV remote and turned it on.

"Shrek, obviously."

"Obviously."

After a while you felt your eyelids grow heavy and you yawned. Hitoshi noticed and turned off the TV.

"You ready for bed?"

"Mm-hm." you answered sleepily.

You layed down on the bed, pulling Hitoshi doen next to you so you could wrap your arms around him.

"Goodnight, Y/N."

"Goodnight, Hitoshi."

...

"Hitoshi?"

"Yes?"

"Would you still love me if I was a worm?"

BONUS:

You were walking to your usual lunch table where Hitoshi was already waiting for you. You didn't watch where you were going and almost ran into the abnormally short grape boy from class 1-a.

"Oops, sorry... Mineta?" you apologized, walking around him.

"Hey, L/N! You have a mind reading quirk, right?" he asked, a devious smile on his face. "You can make up for running into my by reading my mind!"

You, oblivious to his reputation, agreed, feeling bad for almost stepping on the small boy.

"Sure! I don't mind reading your mind!"

You figure he was just curious about how it worked, so you decided to use it on him like he had asked:

"Aaaah! Mineta, what the heck!!!???"

"It's true though." he said, drooling "I do want to touch your-"

"Finish that sentence." said Shinso threateningly, coming up behind you.

"Why? Are you her b-" he abruptly stopped speaking as his face became blank and his pupils turned white.

"Thank you, Hitoshi!" you said, giving your boyfriend a hug.

"No problem." he said, sitting back down and beginning to eat his food.

When your lunch break ended, you looked behind you to see Mineta, still standing frozen where you had left him.

"Are we just going to leave him there?" I asked.

"Trust me." smirked Shinso. "He'll be in much bigger trouble with Aizawa later."
