Kirishima x Mina

~•~❤️~•~

Kirishima's POV:

I woke and instantly knew something was off. Not with my surroundings, but with me. I reluctantly got out of bed and trudged over to the supply cabinet in the common room to grab a thermometer. After a minute I checked my temperature and groaned.

Yep, I had a fever.

I went back to the cabinet and grabbed some medicine. Today was an important day at school, we were working on our special moves, so there was no way I was missing it.

I took some medicine and hoped noone would notice that I was slightly paler or warmer than usual.

"You ok, Kiri? You look a little sick..." said Mina as I walked into the common room.

I guess it was more obvious than I thought. Oh well, fake it till you make it I guess.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little... hot." I said nervously.

She looked like she didn't believe me but didn't press the matter.

Mina's POV:

I didn't believe Kirishima when he said he was fine, but I didn't say anything.

I just hoped he didn't overwork himself if he actually was sick.

"Do you want to walk to school together?" I asked the redhead cheerfully. I needed to keep a close eye on him, just in case.

"Sure!" he replied.

We walked out the dorm room building together, talking about Aizawa's insanely hard homework. I decided to comment on his complection to see if he would come clean and admit he should stay at home and rest.

"So, Kirishima" I started "You look a little pale today. And you're sweating when it's chilly outside."

"I, um, have a lot of layers on." he said, avoiding eye contact.

"Ok..."

That was the lamest excuse I've ever heard, but if he refused to admit he was sick, let him suffer the consequences.

Kirishima's POV:

I sat down, hoping I would feel better later, but honestly it just got worse.

I was either hot or cold, constantly shivering and now I had a slight headache.

But if anyone noticed, they didn't say anything, which was good, because our next class was hero training and I was NOT going to miss it because of some silly little fever.

"Hey, bro, could I borrow today's notes?" asked Denki, coming up to my desk, a cheerful smile on his face.

"S-sure!" I said through chattering teeth, suddenly feeling cold.

"Um... you ok, bro?" Denki said uncertainly, watching me shiver in the warm classroom.

"Yeah. I just, um... drank some really cold water just now...?" I answered, equally uncertain.

"Oh, ok! Just don't get sick!"

"R-Right..."

Thank god Denki was stupid. I passed him the notes and he thanked me and left.

I walked over to the place in the wall where my hero costume was and took it out, before following the other guys to the locker room to get changed.

I hoped today's training was easier than usual, because I was really was not feeling well. Why did I come to school again? Oh yeah, important lesson.

"Hey, Bakugo *cough* can you pass me my- *cough* shoe?" I coughed into my fist several times before continuing. Instead of passing the said item Bakugo stared at me with an odd expression on his face.

"Is something wrong with you, crappy hair?" Bakugo said at last, his usual angry scowl returning.

Translation: Are you ok?

"No. Why do you ask?" I said, rubbing my nose.

"No reason..." he said, an odd look in his eyes as he continued to watch me.

I brushed him off and left the changing room.

"Crappy hair's sick, isn't he?" grumbled Bakugo, quieter than usual.

"For sure." answered Sero.

"Oooooh that explains a lot. What should we do about it?" asked Denki.

"Let's leave it to Raccoon eyes. She definitely knows. Those two are close so we should let her take care of him." said Bakugo, much less angry that usual.

He had a hard time showing it but deep down, he did actually care about his friends.

"Good idea." said Sero "Should we tell Aizawa?"

"Nah, he'll find out soon enough." grumbled Bakugo "If he's wasn't such a crappy teacher, he'd already know."

Mina's POV:

Bakugo approaching me secretly before class, concerned about Kirishima's health was definitely not something I expected to happen. Well, not exactly concerned but as concerned as Bakugo can be.

I reassured him I could take care of Kiri and convince him to go home and rest. Bakugo trudged off after making me promise I wouldn't tell anyone that he had come to me.

I had a plan: make Kirishima realise that he shouldn't come to school sick and that he should prioritise his health over hero training then make him go home and rest. After school I could visit him and maybe bring him some chicken soup or something.

I'm such an amazing friend<3

"Everyone! Get into pairs and practice your two new special moves!" called All Might in his skinny form.

The students imidiatly began pairing up and walking off to train. I saw Kirishima start to walk towards Bakugo. Bakugo gave me a meaningful look before shouting angrily at Kirishima to find a different partner.

I nodded at Bakugo, wordlessly telling him I had a plan.

I ran up to Kirishima and tapped his shoulder.

"Oh, hey, Mina!" said Kirishima, turning around.

"Hi! I was wondering if you wanted to pair up for training!" I said innocently, giving him a bright smile.

"Um, sure! Why not!" he replied, returned the smile. I turned back around to look for an open space to spar, but I didn't miss Kirishima wiping the sweat off of his forehead even though the weather wasn't warm.

"Let's go spar over there!" I said, pointing.

Before he could answer, I grabbed his arm and dragged him over to the cleared area.

I noticed his skin definitely felt warmer than usual. Why did he have to be so hardheaded and not admit he was sick!? Dude, just go home rest before you pass out!

"Alright, you ready?" I asked him, getting into a fighting position.

"Yeah!" he said, doing the same.

"Go!"

We ran at eachother, both activating our quirks. I shot a small stream of acid right at him, but he hardened his skin and blocked it with his now indestructible arms.

He charged at me, getting ready to do his move. I noticed his movements were slightly slower and sloppier than usual.

Now that I watched him more closely, I wondered if he even had enough strength to pull it off. His special move took a lot of power, power that he didn't have. I better stop him before he passes out.

As Kirishima charged at me, I dodged him easily, before shooting some slippery acid at his feet and causing him to fall forward.

Before he could get back up, I pinned him down. We stood like that for awhile, the only sounds breaking the silence being the distant noise of our classmates and his laboured breathing.

"Hey, Kiri." I said quietly to the boy under me.

"Yeah?" he asked between heavy breaths.

"Please go home and take care of yourself. Me and you both know you're not feeling well and your health is more important than missing one day of school." I told him, standing up and offering him a hand.

He took it and I noticed how cold his fingers were in contrast with the rest of his warm skin.

"You're right." he sighed "I shouldn't have come."

"Of course I'm right, now let's go talk to Aizawa sensei and explain your situation."

"Thanks, Mina." he said, before coughing into his fist.

"For what?" I asked confusedly.

"For caring about me." he said, a little sheepishly.

"Of course, Kiri, I care a lot about you! I wouldn't want you to die because you're too stubborn to take a break!"

He smiled brightly at me and just then I was glad that my face was naturally pink.

Kirishima had gone home after that. We still had a few more classes before I could go check on him to make sure he was resting.

As soon as the last bell rang, I stood up, slung my bag over my shoulders and hastily left the classroom.

First I would make him some soup then bring it to him so that I had an excuse to visit him.

I wasn't exactly the best at cooking, but I felt confident that I could make a simple chicken soup.

I walked home quickly, walked through the front door, greeted my parents and threw my backpack on the floor before imidiatly getting to work in the kitchen.

~•~❤️~•~

"There!" I said proudly, wiping my forehead with my hand as I gazed loving at me creation.

It didn't look that bad- store bought chicken broth with chunks of vegetables and meat floating around in it.

The kitchen, on the other hand, was a different matter. But I would clean it later- first I had to deliver this soup!

I grabbed the pot carefully by the handles and walked out of the kitchen.

"Where are you going?" asked my mom, seeing me carry the large pot out of the kitchen.

"I'm bringing this soup to a sick friend of mine!" I said cheerfully, setting it down so I could slip my shoes on.

"Are you sure it won't make him more sick?" she teased.

"Yes! Well, I gotta go! Bye! And, uh... just don't go into the kitchen for a little while, ok?"

"Wait, why?" she asked, but I was already walking out the door.

Having gone to the same middle school as Kirishima, I knew where he lived and thankfully it was nearby.

I got a few funny looks from passing people as I carried the pot to Kirishima's house but I ignored them all.

I walked up the front steps and rang the doorbell. After a moment, Mrs. Kirishima answered.

"Hello, Mrs. Kirishima! I brought your son some soup!" I smiled, holding up the pot.

"How thoughtful of you! Come right in, Mina!" she opened the door and I walked in.

"You can leave it on the table over there!" she said "Eijiro is in his room upstairs if you want to see him."

"I will, thank you!"

I walked up the stairs and knocked on Kirishima's door.

"Come in!" came the tired reply.

"Hey, bro!" I said, lowering my voice as I opened the door "I brought you some soup!"

"Thank, Mina! That was nice of you! Judging by the stain on your shirt, I'm assuming you made it?" he smiled, showing his pointy teeth.

I laughed as I went over to his bed and sat down next to him.

"Yeah, I did. How are you feeling?"

"A little better." he replied "Now that you're here."

Now I was sure my blush was evident, even on my pink skin.

I didn't know how to reply, so I remained silent.

"Thanks again, Mina. It really means a lot to me that you made soup and came to check on me."

"No problem." I grinned. I had an idea, something I'd been meaning to ask him and now seemed like the right time:

"I know how you can repay me." I told him, smiling mischievously.

"How?" he asked curiously.

"By going out with my once you're better!"

Kirishima smiled widely, making my heart flutter again.

"Deal!"
