Life from Ashes
Fire.
That was all he could see.
The room he was in was filled to the brim with fire, creating a thick black smoke that rose to the ceiling, obscuring his vision as it clawed into his mouth, searing his tongue with a taste of charred wood and ashes.
What was happening to him?
He wanted to cry but he realised that he couldn't for some reason. His body burned as the fires that surrounded him, licked against him and searing his flesh in the process.
Soon, the room began to burn away like a picture that was set on fire. Even the bed he was laying on had melted away causing Midoriya to fall to the ground with a pained yelp of surprise.
Where did the room go? He wondered to himself, still shell shocked by what had transpired mere moments ago. He quickly noticed that the ground was different before realising that it was painted black with soot.
Surprisingly, as he rose to his feet, he realised that his body no longer ached or hurt for that matter and when he went to check himself, he realised that there wasn't any burns on his body as if the recent events hadn't transpired at all.
Confusion spread across his face.
What was going on? He wondered before he realised that the ground before him was a twisted, blackened wasteland, cracked and splintered like shattered glass beneath his feet. Charred remnants of trees jutted up like skeletal hands clawing at a smoke-choked sky, their branches twisted and warped by the heat. The air was thick with ash and cinders, swirling like ghosts in the wind, and every breath tasted of soot and despair. Not even the rivers that were probably once pristine images of beauty were left unscathed as the waters that once flowed through them was replaced by a steady stream on boiling hot magma.
For lack of better words, it looked like hell.
"Where am I?!?" Midoriya exclaimed in shock as he twirled his body around to see that the blackened land stretched on for miles all around him with seemingly no end in sight.
"Where do you think you are?" A voice whispered to him from out of nowhere scaring the boy as his eyes darted around the land for the voices owner.
"Who said that?!" He called out, his heart pounding in his ear as he waited for a response, only to receive silence in return as an eery feeling began to creep up his back.
"Show yourself!" He called out in a demanding tone, surprising himself. Where did that come from?
"So you've finally grown a backbone, have you?" The voice responded in a smug tone. "Where was all this bravery when your friend turned his Quirk on you?"
Midoriya froze in place.
How did it know?
"Why so surprised?" The voice taunted, with an almost smug edge to it. "After all, I know EVERYTHING about you." The voice said, putting extra emphasis on the word everything.
"-what... wh-what do you m-mean???" Midoriya stuttered out, the strange burst of confidence he had having completely left him as fast as it appeared.
"You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. There's no use trying to deny it." The voice warned in a rather aggressive tone that promised violence if aggravated, the ground cracked sharply beneath him in response to the perceived threat. "How could you have EVER let that rat bastard push you around and stomp all over YOUR dreams!?!" The voice demanded, and Midoriya was sure that if it had arms, then it would have been shaking him violently by now.
"And don't get me started on you!" The voice exclaimed angrily, cutting Midoriya from his thoughts, "14 years of your life wasted on simple hero analysis instead of trying to do anything that would help you become a QUIRKLESS hero!" The voice continued to berate causing Midoriya to flinch in shock.
Did he really waste his life not doing anything? Midoriya wondered, shame filling his chest as reflected on all the times he spent gushing about new heroes that appeared on the news while he tried to guess their Quirks.
Unbeknownst to him, however, was that with each word that the voice spoke, the ground behind Midoriya began to shift and swirl, slowing taking on an inverted appearance of his own body. It had ash white hair and glowing neon blue eyes that seemed to pierce straight from him.
Suddenly and without warning, his inverted doppelganger grabbed him by the shoulder and forcefully spun him around to face it before headbutting him in the face causing the young boy to stumble backwards in pained shock.
"Maybe All Might was right." The doppelganger said as it sneered at Midoriya, causing the boys eyes to widen in surprise. "If you can't put in the proper effort or even try to stand up to your own bullies, then what good would you be as a hero?" It asked as it glared at him, "You'd probably get yourself killed on the U.A Entrance exam with how pathetic you are."
Tears began to leak from Midoriya's eyes as he stumbled back, "No..." He muttered as he took another step back, the doppelgangers words slowly registering in his mind.
"No...!"
His thoughts stopped, a single, furious beat pounding in his chest.
"I doubt you could even save your own mother if she was in trouble with the way you are now."
With those words said, Midoriya began seeing red as a deep sea anger of washed over him. The years or constant bullying and mental abuse finally beginning to take their toll.
"NO!!!!!"
Without warning, Midoriya pulled his fist back, not noticing the faint sparks that flew from his fist as he did so, and threw a nasty haymaker towards his doppelgangers face, knocking him flat onto his back but the nasty sneer never left it's face.
Shocked by what had just did, Midoriya stared at his fist in confusion for a good few moments before a sharp, boisterous laugh snapped his attention back to the doppelganger.
"And there it is!" The doppelganger joyfully exclaimed as if it was pleased with what he just did. "Theres that fire that burned in your soul!" It continued to exclaim, much to Midoriya's confusion but before he could ask what the doppelganger meant, fire suddenly engulfed it.
Midoriya watched in horror as his doppelganger began to melt away under the intense heat but even then, his doppelganger continued to smile at him.
"You've proven yourself worthy." The doppelganger continued completely unbothered by the fire currently melting its body, it's voice slowly growing more demonic as it burned away.
"Worthy?" He echoed as he tilted his head to the side, "What do you mean worthy?" He asked but before his melting doppelganger could reply, a beam of fire erupted out of its burning body, blinding him in the process.
From the swirling flames emerged a massive, towering figure, stepping forward with a thunderous impact that sent shockwaves through the scorched earth. Its skin was a dark, molten red, cracked like lava, with fiery veins glowing beneath its surface, casting an ominous light that danced across the landscape. Muscles rippled beneath its charred, stony hide, each movement radiating with a heat so intense it distorted the air around it.
Its face was monstrous and animalistic, a terrifying blend of beast and demon. Sharp, jagged horns curved upward from its forehead, wreathed in flames that flickered and roared with every breath it took. Two fiery eyes blazed like molten coals, piercing through the smoke with a gaze that promised destruction. Its mouth, filled with rows of jagged, obsidian teeth, opened in a snarl, releasing a rumbling growl that resonated deep within Midoriya's chest.
Massive, clawed hands extended from its arms, each digit ending in a razor-sharp talon that glowed with an inner fire. Flames licked across its limbs, trailing up to a pair of powerful, muscular legs, which ended in hooves that dug into the earth, sending cracks radiating outward like lightning strikes. Its entire form seemed to radiate raw, untamed power, an embodiment of rage and fire given shape.
The air around it shimmered with heat, and the ground beneath it began to smolder and crack, unable to withstand the sheer intensity of its presence. As it stood before Midoriya, it was clear that this was a creature born of fire and fury, a primal force that had been summoned from the depths of hell itself.
"W-What a-a-are y-y-you?" Midoriya stuttered out as he stared at the gargantuan monster before him.
The monster's molten eyes bore into Midoriya's, its gaze a terrifying mix of malevolence and curiosity, as if deciding whether to crush the boy where he stood or continue this strange game. Flames danced around its massive form, feeding on the fear in Midoriya's eyes.
"What am I?" the beast rumbled, its voice a low, resonating growl that seemed to emanate from deep within the earth itself. The sound was like stones grinding together, each syllable wrapped in the crackling hiss of fire. "I am you and you are me."
Midoriya's breath hitched, his eyes widening in shock. "M-Me?" he echoed, his voice barely a whisper against the roar of the flames.
The beast's laughter boomed across the wasteland, a sound that made the ground tremble. "Yes," it snarled. "I am the anger you bury, the fire you refuse to stoke. I am your rage, your doubt, your pain-all that you hide behind those timid eyes!"
Midoriya shook his head, stepping back instinctively. "No, that's not true... I don't want this... I don't want to hurt anyone!"
The creature's eyes flared, glowing brighter, its expression twisting into one of disdain. "Liar!" it thundered, the force of its voice causing a wave of heat to radiate outward, scorching the ground beneath its feet. "You want to fight! You want to prove them all wrong-those who laughed at you, those who called you worthless!"
"I..." Midoriya's fists clenched at his sides. His heart hammered in his chest, each beat like a drum sounding in the pit of his stomach. He had spent so long denying these feelings, hiding them even from himself. But here, in this inferno, there was no escaping them.
"So you've finally realised it, haven't you?"
Midoriya nodded his head as a sense of defeat washed over him. "Yes..." He muttered before glancing up at the monster and adding, "Ifrit."
The monster, Ifrit, blinked in surprised before pulling it's head backwards and began roaring in laughter. "So you did realise!"
Before Midoriya could ask what the flaming, wolf giant meant, the world around them began to crumble.
He watched in horror as the infernal landscape shattered like glass, each fragment disintegrating into embers and smoke. His heart pounded as the ground beneath his feet gave way, the blackened earth splitting open in a chaotic frenzy.
"So our time is up, huh." Ifrit muttered as it glanced at the now rapidly disintegrating land around them. "Shame. I would have wished we'd have more time to talk but it seems life has different plans."
The last of the fiery ground vanished, and Midoriya felt himself falling-tumbling through a void, flames flickering in the corners of his vision. He tried to scream, but no sound escaped his lips. The sensation of falling, of being swallowed by the darkness, seemed to stretch on for an eternity...

Wukong glanced at Midoriya's prone form as he waited for the boy's mother to arrive. It had been just over an hour since they had arrived at Mustafu Hospital. The Monkey King had been keeping up his act as an old acquaintance from primary school with relative ease, thanks to the information he had picked up during the ride.
Wukong's eyes softened as he considered the boy's current plight. He had brought the Eikons into this world, their minds split from their physical forms, and so he understood all too well the struggle Midoriya was facing, having been in that exact same position a long time ago. The fusion with Ifrit was not an instant transformation but a gradual process-a journey filled with challenges and growth.
A smirk tugged at Wukong's lips as he thought about the irony of it all. Here was Midoriya, a boy with so much fire within him, struggling to come to terms with the very thing that could make him extraordinary. Wukong couldn't help but feel a sense of amusement mixed with respect. This young man, in all his potential and raw emotion, was on the cusp of something transformative. It was almost like watching a particularly stubborn stone finally yield to the chisel's edge.
“Ah, the beauty of it,” Wukong mused, his tone a blend of mischief and admiration. “Seeing someone who's been pushed around finally tapping into that inner fire - quite poetic, really.”
Wukong's gaze shifted to the boy's sleeping face, the boy who had managed to earn his respect despite all odds. He could see that Midoriya was on the brink of a major change, one that would test his resolve and shape his future.
“The path he's on isn't going to be easy,” Wukong continued, his tone more thoughtful now. “But that's the fun of it, isn't it? Watching someone grow and overcome the odds. Who knows? Maybe this fire inside him will forge a hero out of him yet.”
As Wukong waited, he allowed himself a moment to reflect on the strange twists of fate that had led him here. He had set the stage, brought the Eikons, and watched as events unfolded. But seeing Midoriya's struggle up close, he realized that perhaps the real test wasn't just for the boy, but for himself as well-to see how much he could influence the outcome without outright controlling it.
With a chuckle, Wukong leaned back, ready to see how the next chapter of this unexpected tale would unfold before noticing Midoriya's eyes beginning to flicker.

And there we have it! The second chapter is done! Any thoughts or opinions so far? Also yes, Sun Wukong brought the Eikons to Earth so don't go thinking he created them, more in that will be revealed in the next chapter. Also, Midoriya will begin his training in the next chapter and he will have Wukong teaching him.
So, quick question, do you guys want a Highschool DXD/RWBY crossover at somepoint and a Black Myth: Wukong/RWBY crossover? Cause I have something in mind for them.
Enjoy!
