Artemisia Butterfly, known as the Sleeping Beauty of Mewni, was born to Queen Juno the Visionary and King Reagan.
From an early age, Artemisia was exposed to the intricate magic and enchanting visions that defined her parents' legacy. As a child, she displayed an innate talent for magic, particularly in the realms of illusions and dreamweaving. However, her dreamy disposition carried on into mewberty and caused her to transform into her Butterfly form in her sleep.
As she grew older, Artemisia developed a deep desire to prove herself worthy of her royal lineage. Eager to learn more about her magical heritage, she spent countless hours in the royal library, studying ancient spells and magical texts. One day, while perusing a dusty tome about sleep magic, Artemisia stumbled upon a spell that promised to grant the caster unparalleled dreams filled with knowledge and wisdom.
However in her excitement she misread the spell. Instead of bestowing enlightening visions the incantation sent her into an eternal slumber, trapping her in a dreamscape of her own making. Her enchanting beauty radiated even in sleep, and the news of her fate sent shockwaves throughout Mewni.
Queen Juno and King Reagan were devastated by the loss of their daughter, and they sought every possible means to awaken Artemisia. They summoned the most powerful magic users in Mewni, consulted ancient prophecies, and even ventured to the heart of the Magic High Commission. Yet, every attempt to break the curse proved futile.
Years later, a brave young man named Ennard arrived at the castle. Having heard the tales of Artemisia, he was determined to awaken her. He entered the enchanted chamber where she lay, surrounded by soft, glowing light. As he gazed upon her peaceful face, he felt an undeniable connection, as though he had known her all his life.
With courage in his heart he leaned down and gently kissed her. Artemisia's eyes fluttered open, the warmth of the kiss breaking through the slumber that had held her captive for so long. The kingdom erupted with joy as the news spread of her awakening. She married Ennard at age 22 and they had a daughter named Cybil together. Because she was asleep from ages 15-22 she had no time to make her own spells. Artemisia died at age 50 from a ruptured aorta.
