Princess Ruby, daughter of King Jeremiah and Queen Therese, was born into a lineage of powerful rulers in Mewni. As a member of the royal family Ruby had access to the finest education, magical instruction, and wealth—elements that would normally command respect and admiration. However despite her royal status Ruby faced an unexpected and painful struggle growing up. Throughout her life she was harassed and bullied by her peers, not for her lack of leadership, but for her appearance—specifically for her large nose.

In the royal courts and during her public appearances, Ruby's large nose became a point of mockery among those with cruel hearts. She would hear whispers from other noble children calling her names behind her back. Even some who sought the favor of her family couldn't resist making subtle comments about her nose. The court and the kingdom of Mewni as a whole made her feel like an outsider despite her birthright.

Though royalty is often shielded from many struggles, Ruby's experience was different. Even within her royal privilege, she found herself on the receiving end of bullying. The royal tutors and servants tried their best to shield her, but the rumors and insults still found their way to her ears. Children of nobles would mock her during public gatherings, and rumors of her nose being "unfit for a princess" spread across Mewni.

Ruby's parents King Jeremiah and Queen Therese were furious when they first discovered the extent of the bullying. They tried to confront the problem head-on by ordering guards to silence the worst offenders, threatening to cut supply trades with certain kingdoms, and banning certain families from court events. Despite their effort the damage had already been done—Ruby had grown self-conscious, hiding behind her long hair and avoiding public appearances whenever possible.

Because of her insecurities she didn't make any notable achievements during her reign. However she managed to marry a merchant named Vincent Dragonscales (they had bonded over their shared bullying experiences, with Vincent being harassed for his lankly body) and bore a daughter named Minerva. She made no spells of her own. Ruby died by suicide at the age of 30. Vincent also committed suicide shortly after.
