She was the female Alpha of the pack even though she is human, she is Sam's other half platonically. She keeps the pack in line, she helps Emily feed them, teach them even more manners. She was more powerful than the pack she was the Alpha, though she had Sam stay the alpha while she was the female alpha.

The Cullens didn't mind the shifter in her because she smelled like a Normal human who they all adored. Though during the full moon she had to take wolfsbane and be chained with wolfsbane metal to not kill the Cullens when she shifted.
