23 | Ignorance is Bliss, But Knowledge is Power
Tonight I dream of freedom.
Independence is like a meadow, free of gates but full of bridges, a vast open sky of bright possibility.
As the clouds break free and the sun's rays are released, my eyes are stung by the light. The breeze creates a calming whistle through the trees but blows dust in my eyes. The flowers grow beautifully but the bees that pollinate them buzz near my face.
Independence eliminates the possibility for ignorance, forcing one to become knowledgable when, at times, ignorance can be blissful.
There are no paths set before me, no expected route for me to take. I simply walk where I please, my arms spread wide in great joy, my presence warm, mind relaxed. An overwhelming sense of tranquility envelopes me.
I look in the distance. Dark clouds, that were once hidden by trees, now emerge into my view. Now that I see the reality of it, the entire sky without being blind to the dark clouds in the distance, I can see the storm coming. I can feel the storm coming.
Suddenly the wind picks up and spirals around me. The gusts are so strong that they blow away trees and tear up the sod. I remain in the centre of it all, in the eye of the storm, watching this great change unfolding.
I brush the hair from my face. As I move my hand, the winds shift in direction. I move my hand again, pressing outward. The winds shift again. I realize that I control the storm. Am I responsible for it?
I have great power, being able to have such control over nature, changing the wind with a swift motion of my hand. How does one use this great power?
I decide to use the storm to my advantage. Directing the strong winds across the meadow, I adapt it, moving the trees, changing the landscape, creating hills from depressions, rock formations from grass, flowers and greenery turning into a land of my empowerment, so that I am standing on the peak of a mountain.
I part the clouds, the sun warming my skin. I look down at the earth below me. The mountainous landscape casts shadows across the region, the sky looking her most beautiful, contrasting with the grey rock, her vibrant blue the most beautiful colour I have ever had the pleasure to see.
Never have I seen an image so fantastic, beauty so mesmerizing. Never have I felt so much life within my person. Never have I felt so free.
I have knowledge, from gaining life experience; being mistaken but learning from my downfalls, accepting that in which I cannot change, but changing that in which I can.
I have power, by applying my experiences and creating change. I want this power. I want to remain knowledgeable. My knowledge inspires me.
I choose to be independent--to be free of ignorance and face the truth, no matter how disgraceful it may be.
I choose to lead--to change the minds of those who are ignorant, and to stand up to those who do not support me.
I choose to change what is wrong, and act on what is right.
I choose knowledge.
I choose power.
This revolution,
is mine.
