Hello my friends! :D

Today I'll tell you a bit about the romance book I've been planning for a while now hehe It doesn't have a title yet, I've been literally calling it slowburn friends to lovers (aka SBFTL) since I first had the idea, because that's literally what it is lmao

So yeah, the tropes basically tell you the rough plot already. The characters actually don't know each other before the story, so it's more like strangers to (best) friends and then (best) friends to lovers than just friends to lovers. Also, when say slowburn, I REALLY mean it. The strangers to friends, so like the building of their friendship, will be just as important as the romance part and probably take up half of the story, because I'm a sucker for deep friendships. (Also, best friends to lovers is like the best thing ever, and noOoo I'm totally not projecting).

I plan to write this story just for funsies and to fulfill my dreams of THE perfect sapphic love story, one I've always wanted to read (you know what they say, write what you wanna read) :] It will be mainly character driven (as basically all my stories are tbh because I love my characters, they're my babies, and they and their relationships are by far the most important thing of my stories), so not a lot of plot, just internal conflicts and character- and relationship development :D

Oh also this story was a lot inspired by sapphic pining fanfiction I read on AO3 (especially one 150+k words fanfic I binge read in one night when I was sick) and one of my favorite books ever, Six Times We Almost Kissed by Tess Sharpe (totally recommend!!!) (wait, which I also read twice when I was sick... What is up with me reading these stories when I am sick??). So I hope I'll be able to write this story with the same vibe c:

Anyway, let's get to my characters (aka: my pookies)!! Here are their aesthetics 👀

(The picture on the top is not that accurate, she actually has curls and her face shape is also different, but the vibe fits so yeah). Carlie is basically just my chaotic baby with adhd (maybe also autism, not sure yet tho) and probably depression. Can you tell she has family issues? (as like half of my characters do LMAO slay Ig 💅) Yeahh she pretty much went through it, poor girl 💀 (Don't worry, she does have a personality besides from being traumatized xx)

I'm also considering making her non-binary or some other gender identity, so they/them pronouns, or maybe she/they or they/she. But yeah I'm gonna think about that some more.

(okay just gotta say real quick I recently re-did her aesthetics and dare I say I am OBSESSEDD that picture on top is just ON TOP >> (haha I did an anapher (okay nerd 🙄)))

Sienna is like the calm before a storm and suuper protective. I don't really know how to describe her more right now because I have like a really specific vibe to her in my head, but I can't put it down into words yet (so real for so many of my characters ugh). But trust that she is TOTALLY girlfriend material thehe like 🫶🫶🫶

Fun fact: Erika is one of the characters that probably is the most like me (personality wise etc.). She was intended to be the really sweet, but silly sunshine character (omg this wasn't meant to sound arrogant 😭). She pretty much just ignores her emotions and problems in hopes they'll go away. Also, aroace spec representation!! <33

Inez is supposed to be the sassy activist rebel person that totally will discuss controversal topics at family gatherings (I could never) and the best friend who gives you actually good advice and will totally beat you up if you make stupid decisions. Oh and she is also: a theatre kid mwehehe (trust that I WILL make musical references in the story 🤭🤭)

She doesn't really have any flaws yet tho LMAO that's why her aesthetic isn't finished. Please ignore it xx

What you should also just ignore are the "name" placeholders - they all don't have a last name yet because last names are annoying. Thanks <3

You can try to guess who dates who if you want to btw hihi (there is the main couple ofc with the two characters from whose perspective we will read and then another couple with a... let's say complicated relationship).

Anyway here are some more aesthetics that I made instead of studying some time ago lmao Those are probably going to be the ones I actually use for the introduction of the book (noo I didn't write the introduction chapters for all my books already, not me)!! Again, credits to this template to saturncomets (ly), I basically copied it off her and just added the different background colours :)

Carlie and Erika don't have this kind of aesthetic yet because I haven't found the perfect faceclaim so far. It's SO hard to find faceclaims with glasses (or unnaturally died hair) it's actually really annoying 😭
