Single look at the razor blade he knew it won't be effective in cutting few nerves in his wrist. He strode the length of his room anxiously looking around each corner of the the room gawking for a suitable sharp object.

His eyes settled on the fruit basket, where a large knife was stuck between the medium sized apples and oranges. Those fruits were recommended by the his nutritionist for his vitamins usefulness, however those didn't help him but the knife comes across to be intriguing and benefitting.

With a his trembling hands he drew out the knife and noticed his reflection on the smooth and mirroring surface. His face had paled like ghost, dark eye bags beneath his eyes, his usual twinkling eyes were short of life. His happiness of past two weeks didn't last for long.  In no extent, it tore a collection of tissues of his left wrist. The sharp alloy of steel made its way to the abyss cutting through his couple of nerves.

Unable to control the pain building inside his system, he groaned and steadily held the pillar of the balcony. He tried not to shout and moved towards the corner, in the process his foot hit the coffee table resulting the mugs to fall and shattered down. With his glassy eyes he looked down, the marble floor was still clean but few blood droplets were fast in plunging and making their spot at the ground.

••

"Sir. Sir" He sensed someone tapping his skin, pressure was applied on his wrist to stop the additional bleeding. And he was made to lie down on the ground. His sensing abilities were soon discarded. He could hardly point what was going on.

For a few seconds, flashes of his life passed through his eyes. His brothers, sister, grandmother all entered like a black and white film. His phrases of life flashed in lightening speed. The scene ended with his wife happily smiling.

His wife.

He was leaving her alone to survive in this throat competitive world, all over again. His fate never gave another substitute way to not to face this

"Ambulance, MasterGlory apartment. Flat no. 1202. Fast." He heard the persons' tensed and muffled voice before passing out.  The world appears more luminous than actual now.

.

"How is damad ji?"

"Bhaiya?"

"Sir?"

Everyone bombed with their queries to the doctor. The doctor himself was intensified about the patient and recently a large number of people had assembled around the hospital enquiring about his condition. So they had to seek the help to protect from the police department. The hospital administration accomplished their obligations and were waiting for impacts.

"He had lost enormous blood, however due to first aid on the location he is fine. Well done Mr Khanna." The doctor moved out after notifying his vitals and timings of visitoring hours to the anxious family members.

"How did it happen Khanna?" Jhanvi whispered unable to digested that her son like Shivaay, had put up with this severe step.

"Annika ma'am was out to finalise the menu card for her next event, Sir was alone in his room working on the blueprints of new mall. He didn't come out for lunch, and suddenly I heard the glass shattering sound so I barged into his room." Khanna rubbed his tear strains and looked towards the chair, where Annika sat like a rock.

"He usually locks his room right? Then how did you enter?" Omkara, who was a silent bystander asked.

"We don't have bolts for door. I myself removed them all when Dr Anirudh advised us. Not even in bathrooms. He is suffering from PTSD. He is suicidal." Khanna glared Omkara and Jhanvi while speaking.

The corridor remained pindrop silence and only the muffled cries were audible. Annika sat with her blqnk straight face. Her glamorous face was devoid of emotions, now. She rested her head on Chachi Ji's shoulder, while the elder woman could  do nothing other than stroking her head and saying some encouraging words.

"I will inform you all when he regains consciousness. You all can leave." Khanna streched his right arm, gesturing them to move.

The family was taken back with Khanna's powerful gesture. Few of them were wondering how, a mere employee got this courage and liberty to speak to them.

"How is that possible Khanna? I'm his badi maa, I will leave here. My son is fighting for life and you're misusing your powers, remember." Jhanvi dangerously warned, before stepping towards the glass barrier, which had separated her and Shivaay.

"Ma'am understand, if you stay here other VIP's waiting to meet him, will also want to stay. Please." The other bouncer man, Rehan  politely spoke.

"Please move out." Annika mumbled. Gauri and Jhanvi stayed shocked with wide saucer like eyes.

"Annika I know we failed to trust him, but we are his family." Jhanvi started only to be paused by Rudra.

"Mom. We will visit him later, she is not objecting in meeting him. Right?" Rudra forcefully dragged his mother out.

Whilst Kalyani and Bhavya  inwardly sighed, knowing their fault in this. One hand Bhavya's hands were tied in the name of proffesion and her undying love for her duty. Another hand, Kalyani was wrapped with motherly affection towards her daughter-in-law.  No mother would wish to see her son taking the last breath before her, same was with Kalyani. Her son was more important than her grandson.

With their heads hung low, all started to walk out of the hospital. Rudra swore to return back and check on the progress, when he recieved the news he was shocked to core. Shivaay was always a strong man whose life primarily revolved around his family. Even after encountering the baddest of all in his younger days, he was as rooted as banyan tree. Rooted deep into the earth. Never in his wild dreams he thought his brother would take  this extreme step.

"I'm here. App rona band kejiye. Shivaay Sir will be fine. He will come out stronger than we expect. I know he will. " Khanna reached out to match Annika's level and clasped her tender and lean fingers with his huge ones.

"You aren't alone in this. Your husband is inside, while my brother like god figure is in there, lying with support of oxygen." Khanna blinked furiously trying not to cry. A strong man never cries.

Omkara had turned back to have glance before leaving. And his heart tugged after seeing how Annika cried in Khanna's arm. He was supposed to be in his place, standing as a brother to his brother's wife. Gawking at them he realised, he had ultimately lost the position where he could have consoled and pampered her.  Without turning back he hurriedly strode away wiping his tears.

"He had promised to stay by me" Khanna looked her expectingly. "All the seven lives. But he tried to leave me-" she tailed off.

"Kya aap donon lade the?" Khanna asked. He was holding back from few days.

"After the new year party, we had full blown argument. I reavaled few important matters he should be known of. And these two weeks he was fine, we were talking normally also. All was fine." She completed with hiccups here and there.

"I will inform Dr Anirudh. He should he be known of this. He can also speak to him and asks the reason." Khanna gave a bone crashing hug before, getting up to call Dr Anirudh.
