"Sir these are the forensic report of the body found in the spot" Arjun Shastri received the file from the constable and looked deep into the report.
Arjun Shastri was a middle-aged man, with professional ethics and principles filled in him. When the case was notified by the central government to him, he was a little skittish with turns. As the people already believed the victim to be a criminal. He knew this one was the hard case to crack but was hoping to accomplish this like every other case. Never in his carrier, the case was left unsolved. He was known to achieve all in the toughest situation.
"Ask Inspector Kamble to meet me now" he ordered and again glanced at the report which bared the victim's name in bold.
As weeks passed the case was transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation-CBI by the central government. The state police couldn't do much contemplating the lawsuit and the topic was highly profiled with a renowned businessman involved with vast family background. The public was demanding answers constantly, which were still unknown.
"Sir still bank accounts are working. It's not ceased." Amira Khan entered with a blue file and marched towards the whiteboard.
Amira Khan, beauty with brains. Was highly talented in the digital section and also in the paper works. Arjun admired her for her sincerity and calmness. She was just like a daughter to him.
Arjun just stood over there and watched her, she took the marker pen and scribbled the details of the account on the smooth surface of the whiteboard. Later on, she passed the file to him.
"Is it active?" He asked turning the pages. His eyes were glued to the fonts on the paper.
"No sir. But the accounts are not ceased after his death. It is more than we think." Amira answered looking at the graphical analysis of the shoot out scene.
"Jai hind Saab" folks sitting in the hall turned their heads as Inspector Kamble addressed them. Arjun nodded at him at dismissal and asked him to join in the discussion.
"Sir we have retrieved 3 bullets from the crime scene out of 6 bullets shots." Inspector Kamble picked the evidence pouch and vigorously shook it, showing the transparent compartment to the people over there. As he shook the bullets collided with each other making jiggling sounds.
"Two of them have been shot to Shivaay. Which was later removed from his body. Among all bullets we got a different one, that is of R700" Arjun looked startled with the mention of gun type.
"What? R700? We don't use these types of sniper guns, in this era." Amira beat Arjun in questioning him and asked him with confusion.
"It was used in wars during the mid-nineteenth and twentieth-century" Arjun scratched his forehead while speaking. Sweatdrop rolled down from his forehead, he knew what was coming up next.
"What about the pistol, from which Shivaay shot Tej Oberoi," another subordinate, Akash Kamath asked looking into the transparent pouches of evidence that we're lying on the semicircular table.
"It was of 9mm self-defence gun. The license is under Tej Oberoi" Inspector Kamble muttered. He knew that the people in the Conference hall were boring their gazes into his body, but he stood with head hung low.
"Do you bloody hell know what this means?" Akash stood up from his chair and banged the table making the paper fly in the air and scatter around the ground.
Akash Kamath was a new officer still in his two years tenure. By his brief period, everyone recognised him by his aggression and angry personality. Nevertheless, he was best at solving the criminal charges and fieldwork.
"Who was leading the case?" Amira asked with a polite voice. The constables behind them shivered a little with the tone of representative.
"ASI Kiran Koli, under ACP Bhavya Rathod" Hav. Abdullah spoke lowering his voice seeing the raging faces in front of him.
"Rakesh I want the suspension letter of Kiran Koli on my table before noon. So that I can get it approved from the director" Arjun swirled back and guided the man from the computer department to this.
"And a warning notice to Bhavya Rathod for involving in it despite belonging to the family" as Arjun completed all looked bewildered with his sudden move.
"Akash I want you to lead the case. By next couple of days, I need a cue in the case" Arjun commanded with an authoritative tone.
"Yes sir" Akash stood upright and acknowledged with an equally high tone.
"Dismiss"
.
"What do you mean?" Bhavya's voice displayed disappointment as the caller on the other side narrated the notice issue.
"Hmmm. Fine please send the notice to my residence." She hung the call and slumped down to the near post.
"What's the issue? Anything serious?" Rudra looked up from his laptop and asked her. He glanced at her, she was exhausted and thinking deeply into something. Her palms were gripping her head, elbows in her both thighs.
"I received a warning notice, not to involve in the case as my family is involved" she answered.
Hearing so, he abruptly slammed his laptop and moved towards his wife in a panic.
"What does that mean?" He asked sitting beside her. His arms automatically made his way to embrace her into a side hug.
"My subordinate was working on this case. Now the CBI has found something punishable which was overlapped by the leading officer. That is Kiran Koli" she explained to him. Though he didn't understand, he bobbed vaguely.
"Now I have got a remark on my profile. It can delay my promotion. Oh my lord." Rudra just blankly gaped at her, as she panicked with the commodities going on.
"Hum kya kare Rudr?" she helplessly asked him. He remained speechless not knowing what to speak or how to.
"I was never involved in the case. It was all Kiran. My job will be at stake if this continues" she murmured to herself.
"So Bhaiya is not at fault?" He asked jovially. He just hoped this to be right.
"No idea" she shrugged her shoulders and proceeded with "The team is not publicizing any leads. We need to wait."
Both dwelled in stillness not understanding what to expect from each other. Bhavya only thought about her profession whereas Rudra was reckoning with his brother and his wife. He had many obligations on his back and didn't know where to start from.
In one word he was a confused soul.
"Meet him once. After all he is your brother" Bhavya mumbled sensing his thoughts.
"I'm scared" he breathed deeply. "I don't know how to resist him. What if all my blames are mistaken, I don't have the heart to again shatter him"
"If he is the culprit then also I can't face my father's murder. Also, I can't believe him to be a murder of my father. He can't do it" he tried justifying to her. Only if he knew himself.
"Meet him during the annual panel meeting and ask his wellbeing" he slightly nodded as she suggested him.
.
"I didn't mean to hurt her Om." Gauri cried on her husband's shoulder remembering her sisters face.
"How can she support him? All I wanted is to her stay away from him" Omkara patted her cheek in response, and placed his painting brushes on the side table and turned towards her.
"We can't impose on her, Gauri. She is blindly in love with him. She is unable to see his other side." He explained to her. She jacked her head up and gazed into his eyes for seconds before speaking.
"When I spoke ill of him, her eyes burnt with fire. My stomach twisted as she refused to believe me"
"If he is wrong, no one can save him. Not even the mighty lord. We tried protecting Annika but she isn't ready to listen to us. We can't do anything. She is spoiling her life with him"
"True Omkara" she nuzzled to him. They were in serene cessation until they heard their daughter's cries.
Jhanvi walked to their room with her granddaughter in her arms. She widely gleamed as her granddaughter halted whimpering sensing her parents.
"Aww...Misha...meri pyaari beti" Omkara fondly held up his daughter.
.
"What are you doing Shivaay?" Annika peeked at him as he was inscribing something on a portion of the paper, with his favourite ink pen.
"Oh... Nothing just, as Dr Anirudh advised me to write articles on certain topics" He whirled in her direction and smiled.
"What topics? Can I see?" As Annika asked Shivaay handed over the paper to her.
She with the bunch of papers settled on the bed and soon engrossed in reading the content. He just looked at her with a constant smile plastered on his lips, speculating about the missed months with her.
"Not any particular subjects. All random" he said glancing at her, as she hurriedly turned the pages to look at the topics in each paper.
"I got inspired by Sudha Murthy and Narayan Murthy. Both write articles for the daily newspaper, it's inspiring. Have you read it?" She looked up to meet his curious eyes and shook in negative.
"You should read them. No worries I will show you tomorrow while reading the Economic Times paper" he smiled at her. He very well knew that his wife wasn't so interested in reading books, not in business, so she never read them out.
"Sure we will." She clasped her hands happily and strolled towards him, with tiny steps. He knew something was cooking in her tiny brain. Her eyes shone with the naughty ideas.
He was alarmed as he felt her lips on his. Before he would realise, she sprinted away along with hiding her blood rushed cheeks.
"Annika Wait. You traitor." He like a lovesick puppy ran behind her to capture and avenge for her deeds.
