Chapter 23
Jungkook looked at his phone, ignoring the person who was calling him. One of his so called 'friends' had tried to reach the ravenette and he already knew what it was probably about. Big chance they were going to ask him to drink, smoke and break some things but to be honest Jungkook didn't have the heart to tell them no. He hadn't been around them the last few weeks or maybe even months and he knew already that they wouldn't be happy if he cancelled them this time too. So he went for the second option, ignore them and hope they wouldn't call him anymore today.
Of course it wasn't without reason Jungkook had ignored them, no in fact he had a pretty good reason to not join them. Jin had asked him almost instantly after their last session if he was up for helping Taehyung in the blonde's private sessions. According to Jin Jungkook could be a good help to him since Taehyung somewhat clicked with Jungkook. The blonde had shown that he saw Jungkook in some kind of way as a friend and of course Jin wanted to try if that could be of any help to the blonde. He had tried it once with Yugyeom but that had proven to be a complete failure, Yugyeom had in no way been ready to carry both his own and Taehyung's problems with him so he had called the meeting short within twenty minutes.
Jungkook on the other hand might just be able to do what Yugyeom couldn't. The ravenette had taken an interest in Taehyung's past and if Jin was right he was getting more stable with each week. He didn't hear bad things anymore from Namjoon and he seemed to enjoy the sessions more, so without thinking twice about it Jin had taken a gamble and asked Jungkook to join Taehyung's next session. If everything went right the blonde might be able to open up for once to someone who wasn't Namjoon or Jin. Something that would be good for Taehyung but something that he had to do himself but Jin could at least try to help him by putting the blonde up with someone who might be that someone for him.
Jungkook didn't really understand why Jin gave him so much of a chance with Taehyung though. He wasn't really friends with the boy although he had begun to grow a really small soft spot for the elder. The last two one on one times with Taehyung had proven to be pretty all right and he hadn't been as annoyed with the elder as he had once been. Besides he still wanted to know what it was that Taehyung was hiding so when Jin had presented the opportunity to him he had of course agreed.
With a small smile on his face Jungkook walked up the stairs to enter the now familiar hospital. With a slight push he opened the doors, taking a left towards Jin's office. Within a few minutes the ravenette was in front of the door, knocking softly and entering the moment he heard a soft 'come in.'
Jungkook's eyes immediately fell on the blonde that was already in the room before Jin and their eyes locked for a short moment.
"Ah Jungkook, welcome. Take a seat. I've already put a cup of tea down for you." Jin almost instantly spoke while motioning towards the empty seat next to Taehyung. "I've already spoken with Taehyung about what you're doing here and if he's okay with it so we can start if you two are ready."
Jungkook looked shortly at Taehyung for some kind of confirmation from the elder. Taehyung shortly looked at Jungkook before he gave a small nod. A nod Jungkook greatly doubted but accepted since it had been there. What worried him though was the way too big smile on Taehyung's face while his eyes seemed completely emotionless, he didn't know why but it felt off to the ravenette.
"Well let's start then, Taehyung can you tell me how you've felt since your last session?" Jin asked while he picked up his cup of tea. Taehyung's smile was still plastered on his face when he gave the elder a short nod.
"Pretty good to be honest, nothing special." The blonde's voice holding an enthusiastic tone but his eyes were still emotionless. Jungkook lifted one of his eyebrows, not really believing Taehyung's answer but still going with it since Jin did too.
Jin took a small sip of his tea and with a small smile he continued his session with the blonde. "How about the thoughts?"
Again Taehyung answered with the biggest smile possible. "None."
While Jungkook had no idea what Jin had meant with thoughts he did know that Taehyung's answers weren't pleading Jin at all. A small fronse was forming on the elder's face and he gave Taehyung a doubtful look. "Okay, how would you describe your current state in a number from 1 to 10. 1 being absolutely horrible and 10 amazing."
Taehyung seemed to think a little about Jin's question before he answered with a solid eight. An answer both Jungkook and Jin hadn't expected. Jin's fronse increased even more while Jungkook's eyebrows shot up even further. Taehyung had told him that he felt pretty lonely not that long ago and now he was giving his life an eight? That didn't make sense to the younger at all and judging by Jin's reaction he thought the same thing.
A deep sigh left the mouth of the eldest boy before he shifted his attention towards Jungkook. "How would you describe Taehyung right now?"
Jungkook's eyes widened a little at the question that Jin had just asked him. Taehyung's eyes almost instantly at the younger.
Jungkook's eyes darted between the two back and forth not really knowing how to react at that question. He didn't wanna betray Taehyung but on the other hand he was here to help him so lying wouldn't be good either. "I...uhm...for fucks sake what kind of question is this Jin......I....don't get this wrong. I feel like you're lying and you're pretending that you're fine. I have no idea what's the reason but judging by Jin's face when you answer it's me that's holding you back." Jungkook spoke softly without looking at either Jin or Taehyung.
What Jungkook failed to notice was the smile that formed on Jin's face and the way Taehyung's eyes widened.
"Is that true Taehyung?" Jin almost instantly fired at the blonde, wanting to get him to open up in front of Jungkook. Taehyung wildly shook his head, the smile now gone from his face and a slight panicked look in his eyes. "Are you sure?" Jin asked again, giving the blonde another chance to change his answer. Yet again Taehyung shook his head to deny Jungkook's statement.
The ravenette looked up at Taehyung, seeing the panic in his eyes. Almost instantly confirming Jungkook's statement just by that look. Jungkook still didn't know what was wrong with the blonde but what he did start to understand was that Taehyung wasn't willing to show it right away at the ravenette. What he didn't understand was why Taehyung had been honest with him at their last session but refused to do it now. Nothing had changed between the two and Jungkook wondered if the blonde had regretted ever sharing some of his feelings with the younger.
Jin lifted his cup to take another sip while he looked between the two boys. "I think Jungkook's right, Taehyung."
Both Jungkook and Taehyung's eyes widened and Taehyung's body softly started to shake a little. The colour slowly drained from his face while he swallowed harshly.
Jungkook took one quick look at Taehyung to see the elder wasn't doing that well. Why he did want to help Taehyung he didn't know if he wanted to help him like this. He didn't want to force the blonde into telling something he didn't want and he didn't know but he wanted to keep the small bond he had with Taehyung. Scaring the blonde away suddenly felt really bad but he had no idea why. He somewhat liked what he and Taehyung had shared in their last session. Besides Namjoon, Jin and Yoongi nobody really knew about Jungkook's real thoughts so the fact that Taehyung did know made him special in some kind of way. Something Jungkook suddenly didn't want to lose.
The ravenette softly reached his hand out towards Taehyung, placing it on his arm to grab the blonde's attention. "It's okay if you don't wanna tell me but I want you to know that I won't judge you if you do share them. It's okay to show your emotions in front of me Taehyung, I'm not here to judge you. I'm here to help." Jungkook whispered in his most caring and soft voice he could find.
The ravenette saw how Taehyung's eyes started to water up and he gave him a soft smile of encouragement. What he didn't expect was Taehyung's next reaction though. Before either Jin or Jungkook could react to it Taehyung stood up from his chair, tears streaming down his face and a deep sob leaving his mouth. Within a second Taehyung had ripped himself away from Jungkook while he stormed out of the room, a second heartbreaking sob leaving his mouth. With a loud bang the door to Jin's office slammed shut and both Jungkook and Jin stared at the now closed white door.
"Well, at least we got something out of him."
