Life Doesn't Wait

Signs you're an introvert:

Being around lots of people drains your energy. Ha. check.

You enjoy solitude. Obviously. check.

You have a small group of close friends. Don't even ask. I only have one. check.

People often describe you as quiet and may find it difficult to get to know you. Every time. check.

According to the website that I read recently that's what they said.

Anyway, hi there, it's nice to meet you from the screen.

My name is Lacie, not lacy, but la-cie, similar but different, okay?

Lacie Olivia is my full name.

Back then I live in Toronto, Canada.

Aside from the fact that there are at least 52 outdoor skating rings in Toronto, there's nothing THAT special about Toronto.

And me, as an introvert kid, I never really think of going outside and playing with the skates, meeting new friends. It's just not my style. Or probably it's because of my laziness, you'll never know.

BUT, don't get me wrong, I do love ice skating, figure skating to be exact.

Just by watching it from YouTube, I do fell in love with it since I was 10.

And now I'm 18, living my life as a figure skater in the Olympics.

How? It's simple really.

It all started by me saying 'Life doesn't wait'.

Okay I know, it's probably not as simple as that, but I can assure you that YOU can do it too.

At first, when I started figure skating, its like everywhere I step the ice is always melting; the routines are: I lose my balance, I fell, repeat. Other kids started laughing at me.

Of course there's this one time that I started freaking out.

Breathe. Lacie. Breathe. That's all I can say.

BUT those words made who I am today. I can beat people's pitiful, snobby stares and grow close to my dream as a figure skater.

Let's wrap this with the best advice that I can give to anyone.

Let's face it. Life waits for no one.

Are you happy with where you are and what you're doing right now?

If you have to search the answer for more than 1 minute to that simple question, you probably aren't.

And let me tell you, it's NOT okay to just get day by day, existing between people.

Sitting by will get you no where. Aren't you here to live?

The idea of a robotic life will become the walls of a prison if you don't start doing something.

If it's me, I refuse to live a life full of regret when I have full control making them the best possible right here and now.

I want to be the best part of me and at the end of the day, saying to myself 'Wow, I'm so grateful to what I have and do what I do. I'm the luckiest person on the planet'.

This rule also works for you too. Go. Get started.
