you look up to the sky, see a pool of cornflower blue
it is sobering with life of most vibrant hues
and each breath you take
carries the light of the happiest soul,
laughter loud enough
to keep the sunshine awake.

leaning against a tree,
you nod with the sunlight that warms your skin,
that makes you whole.
oak branches of knowledge and age
drift across your shoulders, through every page
of your dragonfly diary.

in the field you seem to forget the disruptions in your head.
here there were flowers and a sunset of the most beautiful colours,
that reminded me of your eyes that mid afternoon
you saw sunflowers bloom
and the ocean in the distance held enough water to drown the world ten times over.

on the beach sand runs in between your fingers and your toes,
the saltiness your second skin and it shows.
shirt soaked through and your necklace sun dried
you wave your hand to the sky.
