"Hor dass Rahul." Lovely asked in her sugar coated voice.

"Everything's good Bua ji. I'm just so happy to be home." Rahul said with a smile though his eyes were fixed somewhere else.

Bani was feeding Reet, her eyes fixed on her plate and her mind lost somewhere.

She was thinking about how contrary the behaviour of Kapoor family is. They were so warm and happy with everyone but her.
Just because she's from a different caste? Just because she's Ram's second wife?
Is Ram's first wife was literally so good that they all can't get over her?

"Think more and your brain will surely burst." Ram's voice pulled her out from her self doubting session and she passed him a look.

"Now what's with this RBF?" He pinched Bani's waist.

"FUCK!" She cussed out loud, by mistake.

All eyes turned to Bani and she closed her eyes tight in embarrassment.

"Oh god Bani, did you just swear?" Ram burst into laughter.

Bani's face flashed red in embarrassment.

"What's this behaviour Bani?" Biji asked strictly in Punjabi.

"Mummy ji kids must be joking." Aradhna tried to defend.

"I'm not talking to you Aradhna. What kind of girl swears infront of her in-laws."

"I'm -- i'm sorry. I didn't mean---"

"You don't have to explain anything Bani." Ram said getting up from his sit. "And Biji you, as if i don't know how much you guys cuss in Punjabi." He said, his voice dangerously low and mocking.

"Ram you can't talk like that." Ram's uncle intervenes.

"And you guys can't talk like 'that' with my wife."

Bani was looking down, her eyes tearing up already.

She hates this so much. She just can't control her tears.

"I'll just come!" She excused herself and ran towards her room.

"One thing you guys should know." He addressed his family, "I hate when my wife cries."

Rahul brows streched in amusement looking at Ram, so possesive about Bani. It's not looking like a deal but a real marriage.

Stupid she knows nothing.

"Reet let's go to Mumma? You will sleep with us right?" He turned to his daughter, who was standing like a statue unaware what's happening.

"Papa, mumma was crying."

"We'll give her chocolates then she won't cry. You have chocolates right?"

"Yes, Let's go." Ram picks her up.

"Mom, I'll take Reet with me. We have to go somewhere tomorrow?"

"Yes Ram, we have to go gurudwara early in the morning."

"We'll be ready. Don't forget to take medicines before sleeping."

"I will. Good night bacche." Aradhna smiled.

"Good night everyone. See you tomorrow." He said like nothing happened and went to his room.

"Ram Bhai loves Bani alot." Rahul says walking towards his room with Aradhna. 

"He surely do. Touchwood."

"But Badi maa, they announced their relationship out of blue and got married too. Isn't it a lil suspicious?"

"It was but now when i look at them happy and so in lov-- wait! How do you know they announced their relationship out of blue? You said you didn't know anything."

"Um ah i-- Lovely bua told me downstairs."

"Oh!"

"Anyways, I'm tired. Good night."

Ram entered the room with Reet whose hands were full of chocolates.

They saw Bani standing near the window in their room.

"Bhow!" Reet hugged her from behind and Bani's face broke into a smile.

"Mumma you are not scared?" She asked pouting.

"No baby, i knew you and your Papa entered the room."

"Smart MOMMY!" Ram grinned making Bani blush.

"No Papa, she's not your Mommy. She's my Mumma." Reet pulled Bani's cheek.

"Haha okay as you say." He pecks Reet's nose.

"Mumma i got you chocolates." Reet said excitedly, jumping down Bani's lap to bring the chocolates resting on the bed.

"Reet, you're such an angel my baby." Bani smooches Reet.

Reet giggled.

"And me?" Ram cocks his brow.

"You're a devil who gave birth to this angel." Bani laughs.

"This devil will see you after Reet sleeps." He whispers in her ear, his breath fanning on her neck. She holds a moan, when he runs his tongue down her neck.

"Reet let's sleep. We'll have these chocolates tomorrow baby."

Reet nods and Bani takes her to the bathroom. They brush their teeths together and change into their sleeping attires, cotton pajama and a shirt for Reet and a kaftan for Bani.

"I'm so tired mumma." Reet says laying down on her side of bed.

"Yeah? How was your day? Tell me what you did whole day?" Bani asks laying beside her, on the middle of the bed.

"I played, ate, played, ate and played more."

"Such interesting day noo." Bani rolls her eyes and reet chuckles.

"You're so beautiful and pretty. I love you mumma." Reet caresses Bani face, her eyes heavy with sleep.

"You're the prettiest girl baby. I love you too." Bani leans down and plants a kiss on Reet's forehead.

"Ah, my eyes are watering. So much love between you too." Bani hears Ram's voice and makes a face.

"Shut up, you jealous bitch."

"Oww! Baby is angry." He says slipping beside her on bed and spooning her from back.

"Ofcourse i am. You are the reason of today's drama."

"I didn't do anything."

"You did. You fucking pinched me." She elbows him on stomach.

He scowls. "Calm down tigress. Will you?"

"I will not. I'm angry."

"And i know how to manofy you." He pulls her from her elbow and hovers her.

"God Ram! Reet is sleeping."

"I got to eyes and i can very well see that your darling Reet is sleeping."

"Stop behaving like a pervert all the time."

"You're calling me a pervert? I'm romantic not pervert baby."

"Yeah yeah. Whatever helps you sleep at night Mr. Kapoor."

"You help me sleep at night baby." He winks and captured her lips in a kiss.

Bani closes her eyes feeling his lips on her. This feels so good. All of this. Whenever she's with Him and Reet. She feels home.
A home she never really had. Her childhood wasn't traumatic and she never faced any problems with money, food and studies. But her heart aches everytime she thinks about a family, a real one. A mother's love, a father's warmth, everything she never had.

She opens her eyes when she feels him nibbling her lower lip with his teeth.

She smiles pulling back from him.

"Ah baby, you're such an addiction. A legit drug."

"Stop! You're being so cute." She laughs.

She turns her face back to Reet and he hugs her from behind.
A smile playing on their lips as they fell into slumber.
