1. Who Are You?
This place. It's beauty kind of touched me, ever since I came here.
No words to describe it.
Morning to night this place fill my each vein with pleasure.
I couldn't imagine me landing here at some point of life because I was the girl who was not actually a pampered child but was a family girl.
Always around elders, kids , cousins.
It's..it's..kinda different feeling.
Oh!
I forgot to introduce myself.
Myself, Avyakta Sharma
An aspiring gynecologist.
I came to Shimla for my further studies. My family was very supportive towards me not only me but all the children in the family.
Living all alone here, bit scared me but soon I got adapted to the environment.
The hostel where I was living was a wonderful place.
Smita, my best friend belong from a middle class family like me but I didn't know we will have such an emotional goodbye.
She was such a great girl, indeed. I found a family in her.
All the memories we shared will remain transfixed in my each cell of body.
Ahh! I'm sounding like a doctor, though.
Now, I'm going to start my new journey as a doctor. Finally!!
But before that, I'm going to a place close to my heart. People who were far away from me.
My hometown Rentachintala.
And...
"Ticket.. ticket.."
My chain of thoughts were broken by a ticket collecter. He was a lean person, with a big moustache.
I looked at him,amazed.
My journey continued and in no time I reached there finally.
With my loaded bags, I got out from train and saw my papa and brothers standing there.
I ran towards them, leaving my bags on the station itself and hugged my father tightly.
As if he was my teddy bear.
My brothers shook their heads and laughed at my silliness.
It was a long time after I came back home.
I smelled the wet soil, invigorating my inside, literally.
Those green farms, giving my eyes freshness.
Smell of flowers, blooming in the rainy season.
The atmosphere took me to the infinity. Something which Can't be expressed.
The difference in Shimla and Rentachintala is a smaller one. The people in my city was old cultured whereas there people are modern. Shimla being a hilly station and My village is in South but when we get adapted to our surroundings nothing around seems alienated.
Reaching my house I was showered with hugs and cheek kisses from my aunts and my mumma.
Dearest persons.
I searched for Dadi(Grandmother) and hugged her warmly.
The house was such a place I could never forget to miss.
Because the love they showered me with is infinite.
I came out in verendah and saw everyone having their evening tea.
I was about to go to them but something struck in my leg as if it was pulling me towards it. I looked down at my leg and found nothing.
My whole family was asking me to have a seat beside them, they were laughing and chattering too.
But suddenly a strong pull of 2-3 hands took me back away from them. I was totally swooned.
My sister, brother, were shouting 'Avyakta, Avyakta' but I was not able to go there.
BOOM!
Unexpectedly, a big lod of wood, hit against my head and after that I had lost my sight completely as my eyes itself closed.
The last thing I could see was my family, unaware of the former, laughing, chatting, enjoying.
I was happy.
Happy because they were happy.
I had no care about the fresh blood that oozed out from my damned head.
I smiled.
And.
Eyes closed.
.
.
.
.
I don't know what happened but soon, found myself on a long dark road.
The atmosphere was surrounded with a thick blanket of fog.
I tried to open my eyes. The blood from my head was in no mood to stop.
I was dazed. As soon as, I tried to get up, I found that someone was hovering me. I looked at the boy who was no less than 19 years old. He looked very young according to me.
His face wasn't clear at all.
Completely drained out of energy, I tried to get up. I was panic-stricken.
I shouted for help.
"Please help..Please help.."
My voice louder than a lion's roar but no one came. I couldn't see anything. I can only cry.
Mumma.. Papa..where are you?
"Don't...don't.. touch me...leave...ahh!!"
He held my hands harshly.
I could see a huge flame infront of me. There was nothing, no one from whom I could ask for help.
MUMMA..PAPA...
Avyakta opened her eyes, drained in sweat which covered her whole body.
She looked at the people whose faces reflected tension, pain. But why?
Mummy? Papa? They came? She looked at her mother and father.
Just a bad dream but...
"Mummy.. mummy..you came."
She cried and found herself in a bed that adorned a white bed sheet. She looked at her surroundings. The walls were completely white. The smell of medecines can be detected.
She was in hospital but in bed? Why?
She saw her family members who stood beside her. Her mother was continuosly hugging and kissing her.
But suddenly as soon as she left her,she was embraced in a strong pair of hands. Strong one.
She looked at the person who did this and cried incessantly. Not with the care she felt in those arms, but fear.
And then,
She pushed him hard.
"Who are you?
Don't touch me..."
Everyone looked at them in horror.
Tears were rolling down her eyes. Her face scrunched up. She saw her hands that had many marks. Her head was covered with a bandage and right hand with a plaster.
"W-What happened to me?
And who is he?"
She looked at the man whom she pushed back.
Avyakta tried to move away.
"Beta? What are you talking?
He's Siddhant..Your husband."
Her father told her.
Siddhant had a sad, shocked look.
"What?? MY HUSBAND?"
She widened her eyes.
"Yes.. Avyakta..Me.. your husband"
He was cupping her face but she swayed away his hands. His eyes never leaving those tears. She was scared, trying to maintain distance as far as she could.
"How can you say that you are my husband? I NEVER MARRIED. I don't even know you,Mr."
Leaving everyone, gaping and dumbstruck, she fell down, fainting.
They didn't had the clue about her words. Why did she refuse to recognise him?
Siddhant was in a trauma. He fell down on the sofa and cried palming his face.
Avyakta's family and his family consoled him. But still one question was running in his mind-Why did the love of his life didn't recognise him?
The doctor came running inside to check her.
He was unaware of the life, which was giving him sudden shocks. Devasted and frustated, he was with himself and the remorseless plus unmerciful world. Never in his life the wretched boy ,thought would face the tsunami of problems, like this.
He just looked at her face, which looked calm from outside but inside...he wasn't aware...
