You Know Nothing
🌸You🌸
Wow, I can't believe that it's because it has been a month and a half since I've arrived here. I thought to myself as I checked my wardrobe through my body sized mirror. I sighed. In all honesty, I like wearing these soft colored clothes, but not everyday. I mean, no one is forcing me..not anymore. So, what am I so afraid of? I shake off that feeling and went back to checking myself out. I was going green today. A white dress shirt with a green tie and frilly shorts. Along with a pastel green sweater and titanium white heel boots. I also had a bow in the back of my head, with jem beads dangling on small chains. It was a simple look but, then again, I'm not trying to gain anyone's attention.
For the past couple of days, I've been curling my hair. I had recently got a wolf cut and I've always wanted my hair to look floofy. Plus, it match the aesthetic.
"...yeah, this is fine." I mumbled to myself heading down stairs with my bag over my shoulder and a fake change in attitude. "Good morning!"
"Good morning, honey!" My mother beamed back at me. She had seemed to be in a rush, probably something serious was going on at her job. "Sorry I don't have breakfast ready, Hon. They need me back at the hospital for a serious case."
I nodded understandably, "I'm surprised that you can still have so much energy after a long shift. Did you get back at 4 a.m., last night?"
"Yes, well. When you have so much passion for your job, you're not really working at all!" I smiled admirably at her. She does so much day and night, but still manages to make time for our family and not be worn out whatsoever. Mom really loves what does.
"In that case, I'll fix myself something." I said reaching for the bag of thin bagels.
"Sounds good. I'll see you tomorrow, sweetie, have a good day at school!" She hollered, sprinting out the door.
"BYE MOM!" I yelled louder.
With her now gone, I began to make some cream cheese bagels with jam. And when I had those done, I decided to take the with me to go. I opened the front door with one half in my mouth and the other in my free hand and sprinted out to the bus stop. Thankfully, I was on time as I saw Dee and Heavy coming up.
"Hey, (name)!" Heavy greeted me. I've gotten much better at speaking Russian so I can understand my friend better too, but the writing and alphabet still confuses me.
"Hm-mmph!" I muffled with the bagel still in my mouth. I swallow the bite and grinned.
"What's that your eating?"
"Bagel, with cream cheese and jam," I answered and offered, "want the other half?"
He hungrily took the remaining half from my hand gobbled it down. I chuckled at him while his brother glared in disgust- for his lack of manners.
"Hello, Dee." I turn to him. "How's your morning?"
He looks up to meet my eyes as he answered, "it's whatever so far. And yours?"
"It going well for now."
The bus arrives and I sit next to Heavy as usual. And from a slight distance, I would stare at Dee. I honestly don't know what to feel anymore when it comes to him. Was it just a small, temporary crush? He clearly doesn't show a hint of a thing for me so, should I keep pining over him? When we got to school, things were the same- never changing. Dee would continue to be a class tutor for me, I went to sculpture and choir without him, stayed singing in the background, and-
"Why didn't come to my locker?"
I had went to my personal locker to leave and gather a few things before heading out, despite knowing there was someone waiting for me after my last class. I remember what the boy looked like when he passed me the secret letter, but this, this wasn't the same boy.
"I'm sorry, I had somewhere to be-"
"Don't lie to me!" This secret admirer of mine had suddenly pushed me against the lockers. He had me pinned. "Listen, I've liked you for a good while now. You're so beautiful and I don't understand why you hang around that- that freak!"
"Freak..?" I repeated softly, "do you mean Dee?"
"Grr, who else?" The boy grumbled venomously, "Personally, I don't think he deserves someone like you...you deserve someone so much better.." he gently caresses my cheek, moving his hand downward towards my chin and lifted it. "..why him of all people? Why won't you love me instead?"
🥀Dee🥀
Heavy and I watched the scene play out from around the corner and I was fuming. How dare he pin her against the lockers. How dare he touch her like that! The boy then leans in, trying to close the gap between their lips. No..!
I come out of hiding with death threatening in my eyes. As I'm about to punch this guy's lights out, I saw (name) turn her head and slap his hand away.
"Why would I ever love someone I don't even know?..What exactly do you think you know about me?"
The boy is taken aback and fumbles trying to find the words. "I- I know you like soft colores and cute things. You're too shy to raise your hand during class- it's cute!" Then, he starts to ramble, "I'm very sure you like classical music, matching your delicate appearance. Your voice is of an angel! My Evangeline! You're beautiful both inside and out! And you're so fragile, I want to protect you-!"
"From what?"
"From-..fr-" his face grew in anger, "I want to protect you from the harsh world! Especially from people like Dee!"
I just about had it with him, until (name) stops me in my tracks again. She starts to laugh.
"Wow! Really? 'Protect me from DEE?' Hahahaha, woo!.... Hilarious." Her voice dropped. "You think I need protection? From Dee? He's not even my friend." (Name) stepped forward, making the now confused boy step back. "You know nothing about me, dude. All that nonsense you spouted was nothing but bull. You just see a helpless looking girl, but you're wrong. I'm not some little-sweetie-pie-bitch, so move on and stay the HELL away from me!" She shouted and caused the idiot to fall back on his ass. And stepping closer, she kneeled down to him and whispered "...or I'll make you see I'm really the devil."
Frightened for his life, he scrambled onto his feet and ran away from her. He ran right past me and Heavy, I don't think he noticed us.
"Dee..?" (Name) had finally noticed me standing in the hallway and Heavy revealed himself, also. "Heavy," her cheeks dusted themselves with a light blush as she tucked a bit of hair behind her ear. "D- Did you both see all that?"
"Yeah," I managed to say.
Heavy added, "dude, you were so cool! Scary as hell, too!"
Those comments made her more bashful as she buried her face in her hands. How does someone go from being a bad bitch to being a blushing, shy mess? It was still confusing to me, but I wanted to know why. Today might not be the right time though.
"Hey, we missed the bus back home because of you," I grabbed her attention. "You owe us a coffee, or donut, or something."
And from my peripherals, I saw her smirk and let out a chuckle. "Damn. If you were that broke, you could've just said so. Is there a good cafe both of you know?"
"Ooh, yeah!" Heavy lit up, "there's one not far from here! They do close early. But if we run, we can make it there before they do! Let's go!!" And he took off.
Another chuckle escapes (name)'s lips and looks over at me. "Well?... You coming?"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever.."

You're a mystery, (Name) Mikhailov. And I want to learn more about you, if you'd let me...
