Brothers

"Three choices are enough for both of you and will leave enough room for dinner. That is.." I rubbed my arm hesitantly, "if you guys plan to stay for a little longer..?"
As the words left my mouth, I hear the front door open and close. Not only did I hear it- I felt it through the floor. This could only mean 3 things, my brothers are home, my parents are home, or someone broke in. Of course, the last possibility was very low...but not an unlikely chance.
"I'll be back in a bit," I pat Dee's shoulder. "Again, take what you want. I'll only take a minute."
I leave the side room and grabbed the metal bat I kept in my closet's corner. Slowly and quietly, I treaded down the stairs. I hear noise coming from the kitchen and so I followed it. I saw a faint shadow on the wall across the hall. Someone was definitely here. The figure made it's way to the doorway and I had my bat raised, ready to strike.
Taking a deep breath, I took the swing "AAAHH--uh?" Only for it to blocked with a single strong hand.
"(Name), wut tha phuc?.." my brother, Joseph, said with a full mouth.
"Joe??" I look to see his other hand with an apple that had a large chuck bitten out. "Oh," I chuckled embarrassingly, "sorry, brother. I thought you were an intruder."
"Well, ever heard of "calling out" to see who's here?" He playfully scolded, with apple juice spitting out. Ugh.
"Eeegch! Ever heard of a napkin? Or swallowing completely?" I grimaced, "nasty ass... Also, how else would a catch the crook off-guard, huh? It's called the Element of Surprise!"
"Whatever, dipshit." He ruffled my head while taking another bite of his apple.
"Is Levi home too?"
"He'll be back in a few minutes. He ordered pizza on our way here, so he's picking it up now."
I curiously raised a brow. "What did he order~?"
"'The hell should I know? I don't know how Russians make pizza."
"Not as different than yours, if that's what you're worried about."
Both my brother and I turn our heads to the stairs and see Dee and Heavy standing there. Oh shit, I forgot they were still here.
🥀Dee🥀
"Again, take what you want. I'll only take a minute."
I feel (name)'s pull off my shoulder and I watched as she left the tight spaced room. I'll be real, even though I was given permission to take what I pleased, it made me feel uneasy. Not because I think she'd poison us. It just felt wrong to me. All I took was a water bottle and that was enough for me. I laid back on one of the bean bag chairs as my brother smiled widely at me with cheeks full of junk food. Hhh, what a pig.
"Dee, isn't (name) awesome?!" Heavy exclaimed. "She's so nice and cool, why wouldn't you want her as a friend?"
I gave him a glare and take the first sip of my water before answering. "Because, I don't need any friends. AND it's none of your business!"
"Then it's your loss...in fact," he leans against the counter and mutters, "she may actually dodge a bullet with you."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Oh, nothing. Its like you said, she's not your friend..."
There. Never once in my life have I seen my brother glare at me like that. His words sounded like venom dripping too. Why was he getting so pissy about me not being friends with (name)? And what's this about her "dodging a bullet" with me? We made a deal and that was it. I have no interest making friends with anyone, I'm doing fine on my own!--
*AAAHH--!*
A scream? Heavy and I jump up when hearing it. Was that (name)? Did something happen to her? Heavy, now worried, pushes past me and leaves the snack room. As he's about to pass through the bedroom door, I grabbed him by the back of his shirt.
"Dee--!"
"Would you shut up?!" I whispered harshly.
My bother then copies my tone, "but (name)! She could be in trouble!"
"I know, but what if she not?"
"How do you know?!"
"Do you hear any thumping, crashes? No signs of struggle? Just listen, you dirty grease-head."
He puts his ear against the door and so do I. On the other side, we hear voices. Muffled, yes, but you could hear (name) alive and well. We stepped out of the room and hear the voices more clearly.
"Is Levi home too?" (Name) asks to another in the house. Upon further inspection from the staircase, we see that its one of her brothers. The one with scars.
"He'll be back in a few minutes," he answered. "He ordered pizza on our way here, so he's picking it up now."
"What did he order~?" She asked curiously.
"'The hell should I know? I don't know how Russians make pizza."
Should my brother and I be offended by that? "Not as different than yours, if that's what you're worried about." I said with arms crossed, causing the two below to look at us.
"Heavy! Dee!" (Name) gasped, "[[I'm so sorry I kept you guys waiting!]]"
"Dude, what's with the metal bat?" My brother pointed out.
"Aahh--" She's at a lost for an explanation until her brother cuts in.
"[[She thought I was an intruder and planned to smash my skull with it.]" He chuckled, "[she almost did too, watch yourselves~]]"
"I will do it! If you don't shut your ass up!!"
"AHAHAHAHAHA!!"
I was surprised- to say the least- about her change in both style and personality. She swears, likes metal, punk, and alt music, and is as violent as our mother. How come this side of her isn't present at school, or rather, in public. She acts the complete opposite. If I'm being completely honest...this side of her is more pleasant and amusing to see-- Gah! What am I even thinking?!
"What did I walk into?..."

Once again, our heads turn to the direction of the front door. My eldest brother, Levi, stood at the doorway holding 2 large boxes of pizza and a smaller box above them. He also had a large Sprite wrapped under his arm, while gripping to his house keys in his palm.
"Levi!" I smiled and rushed to his aid. "Lemme get that for you, come in." I take the Sprite, hoping not to shake it too much, and closed the door before any flies can make they're way in.
"Thanks, and I see we have guests?" He looks toward two boys on the stairs. "Will you guys be staying for pizza?"
Heavy didn't need translation to know what my brother asked. He bounced on his tippy-toes excitedly. I couldn't tell if I should- or if Dee would- allow this. I mean, I just let him take junk food from my stash and now, letting him eat more junk? That's not very healthy.
'Why do you care?..You're the one that needs to lose weight..'
Arrggh! No! Not today, you-...you stupid--
'You brought another, not to mention, two boys in the house..Are you trying to look like a slut in front of your family?..'
Heavy is my friend. And Dee means nothing to me. So, shut up.
'Sure you'd say that..but I know the truth and so do you...but, again, let me remind you..no boy is going to love you the way I did...You're mine, (name)..always~'
"I..am. NOT!!"
I didn't know what came over me when I slammed the soda bottle to the wall. It fell to the floor and you could see it inflating from the activated fizz. I was panting heavily, tears were welling up and threatening to pour out, and there was a painful clench in my upper chest. God, these thoughts just won't leave me alone!
"Hey, hey!" Joseph sprinted to me. "(Name), what's wrong?" He holds my face in his hands, seeing me flustered in pink and tears betraying me as they rolled down my cheeks. "Aw, sis.." he pulls me into a gentle but tight embrace, hiding my face from the metal brothers that were flabbergasted by my sudden outburst.
"I- I'm sorry!.." I sobbed into Joe's chest. Which, he didn't mind as he petted my head.
"Shush~ it's okay. We're here," he kisses my headtop, "I'm here.."
