Elize had no idea what Jake was planning for their first date. He had been so sweet when he promised he was going to take her out for their official first date, since they hadn't had one yet.

 "I promise we'll have fun," he said to her.

 "Okay, if you insist. Should I wear anything specific?"

 "No. Just be sure whatever shoes you bring are good for dancing."

 So, that evening, Elize dressed up, but not too fancily (she still didn't know what Jake was up to), and was ready by time Jake showed up at her door.

 "Well, good evening, Mr. Mysterious," she said. "You look nice tonight."

 "Not half as good as you, though," he replied. "You look gorgeous. Are you ready?"

 "Definitely ready. So, what's on the agenda for tonight?"

 "Just a couple of places I know. It's not anything boring, I swear. At least I hope not."

 They walked down a few blocks to a restaurant Elize thought she might have been to a few times before.

 "Not too fancy, but not too casual, either," Jake said as they entered.

 "Have we been here before?" Elize asked.

 "Yeah, we were here once, a few months ago. It was...well, I guess that was when I realized I was starting to like you. Well, like you more than just my friend and my bandmate."

 Elize smiled. "And you thought it would be a perfect place for us to go on our first date. That was really thoughtful of you."

 "Thanks, but after dinner here, I had somewhere else for us to go if you're up for it," said Jake.

 After dinner and some fun conversation, they left the restaurant for a different part of town.

 "I've hung around this club before," Jake said as they walked up. "You know, drinks and dancing. I know you like dancing, so I was hoping maybe this would be a fun stop."

 Elize was not disappointed by the idea. She and Jake danced to every song until she was worn out.

 "Was I right, then?" he asked as they left.

 "Yes, you were. That was fun. But now I'm worn out. I hope you didn't have anymore grand plans in store."

 He shrugged. "Nothing in particular. I thought dinner and some dancing might be good for a first date. You know, nothing too wild. We can do some more crazy stuff next time."

 "Next time," Elize repeated. "Yeah. It was sweet of you to take me to that restaurant where you realized how you were feeling, and you know I like dancing."

 "So, that means you really want to have a next time?"

 Elize nodded. "Of course I do. I really don't know why we didn't do this sooner."
