[Sabre's POV]
After they gave me some breakfast, Happy and Funny took me outside so we can play.
"We're gonna break all the ruuules!" Funny exclaims while I ride on his shoulders as he runs around the gazebo in the center of the Hub. We're both laughing.
"We're gonna break all the ruuules!" Happy says, copying Funny while chasing him.
I giggle as I notice Gerald looking annoyed in his pen while we run around. He must be upset that he can't have his rave party since Happy and Funny are here.
We then stop at the middle of the Hub, and Funny takes me off his shoulders and sets me down. That's when Happy taps me on the shoulder, and I turn around and he's kneeled down to my level.
"Hey, guess what little buddy?" Happy smiles.
"What?" I ask.
Happy then takes his hand from behind his back and holds up a bag of cookies. He opens the bag as I excitedly jump up a few times, then hands one to me. I quickly grab the cookie and eat it.
"Woah, slow down a bit, little guy." Funny says, chuckling.
"I'm fiiine." I say, laughing.
"So, what do you want to do first? Play a game?" Happy asks as he hands the bag of cookies to me.
"Yeah, let's play!" I say, then tap Funny's leg. "Tag! You're it!"
I run off before Funny has the chance to say anything, and Happy gets the idea and runs too.
"Wh- Hey! No fair!" Funny says, laughing as he glances at each of us.
"THE ONLY RULE IS 'DON'T GET CAUGHT'!" I hear Happy yell as I run into the nearby forest.
Dodging tree roots and rocks, I look for a good spot where I could see where everyone was. I spy the tree I climbed my first day in the Hub, and make my way back over to it. The branches are a bit harder to climb, but eventually I get to the top.
I can see Funny chasing Happy around the main part of the Hub, starting to catch up. I use the opportunity to carefully climb along the tops of the trees until I find one that has a bunch of acorns growing off it.
Hm... I have an idea.
I grab one the of the acorns, wait for one of them to stop running, and throw. It arcs through the air for a bit before hitting the top of Funny's head, and he and Happy look around for a second, confused. Bullseye.
"I'm up here, dingus!" I yell from the treetops.
Happy and Funny quickly look up, and see me giggling at the top of the tree.
"Wh- DUDE! HOW'D YOU GET UP THERE?!" Happy exclaims.
"Sabre, careful! You might fall!" Funny adds.
"I climbed, duh." I answer. "And I'll be fine! I do this all the time!"
"Sabre, please get down!" Happy says.
I start hopping from treetop to treetop, laughing.
"Never!" I yell, heading towards the other side of the forest.
They both start chasing me from the main part of the Hub, running near the edge of the forest. I hear them debating on how to get me down. I notice we're getting close to the statue in the Hub, and take the chance to hide behind it in the trees.
While Happy and Funny are wondering what to do, I see some parts on the back of the statue that would be perfect for climbing up. It's like like a building from my old world! I remember how to climb up loose bricks.
I carefully use the stones poking out of the back of the statue as a ladder, and soon enough I'm on top of the statue's shoulder. Happy and Funny haven't noticed me up here yet, I think they're looking for me. I take out the bag of cookies from my hoodie pocket and munch on them while I watch the two robots below panic. This is honestly hilarious.
After a few minutes, I hear something next to me. Looking to my left, I see Gerald is somehow on the statue with me.
"Gerald? How'd you get up here?" I ask as the robotic pig sits down next to me. "Did you take the trees too?"
Gerald nods.
"Nice."
"WHAT THE- SABRE?!"
I look back down, and Happy and Funny have finally noticed I'm on top of the statue. Funny is the one talking while Happy just panic behind him. I finish the cookie I had and wave.
"Hi guys!" I smile. Gerald oinks next to me.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Funny yells. "HOW DID YOU GET UP THERE?!"
"I climbed, duh." I say, taking another cookie. Gerald peeks his head over the edge of the statue.
"Oh great, the pig's there too- amazing." I hear Funny say from the ground. Then, he yells back up at us. "CAN YOU GET DOWN? IT'S DANGEROUS BEING THAT HIGH!"
"Why?" I ask.
"Wh- YOU COULD FALL??"
"No I won't, I've climbed higher without falling."
"SABRE PLEASE- JUST GET DOWN."
"Nah."
"Orange is gonna kill uuuusssss..." Funny says as he pulls on his hair a bit. Happy is still standing frozen behind him, staring up at me, probably with no idea what to do.
I keep eating cookies while watching them panic, Gerald just chilling next to me. Eventually, though, I run out of cookies and start to get bored. I put the new empty bag back into my hoodie pocket and start looking around...
There's a bunch of vines right next to where I'm sitting on the statue, just a little lower as they hang from some trees.
Hm...
Welp. Time to raise their blood pressure- Er, I guess whatever they use as blood. What was it called again? Ret-something? Eh.
I stand up, and start to get ready to jump to my right. Happy and Funny notice.
"SABRE, NO." Happy yells.
I look down at them, making eye contact. They both shake their heads and keep saying 'no'. I smile at them with a mischievous grin.
Aaand I jump.
I quickly hear cleaning metal below me as I reach the vines and grab onto them, stopping my fall. I'm completely fine. Climbing down, Happy and Funny stop under the tree I'm climbing down from. As soon as I'm within reach, Funny grabs me and pulls me off the vines, holding me close.
"O-KAY, let's never do that again, buddy." Funny says, sounding a tiny bit annoyed but mostly relieved.
"How about we do something less... dangerous from now on, okay?" Happy asks.
Before I can do anything, Happy and Funny are walking back to the middle of the Hub while Funny is still carrying me. I can't get out of his grip. Drat.
I see Gerald somehow already down from the statue while the two robots take me to the gazebo.
—————————————————————————————————————
We've just been hanging out for a really long time, Funny and I playing cards or something like it while Happy makes flower crowns from the wildflowers around the Hub. I'm getting bored, because after I climbed up the statue both of them have only let me do stuff that's 'less dangerous'. I was fine, that wasn't dangerous! I've climbed higher than that, but nope. I guess they figured out why Orange made that rule.
"Can we play something other than board games?" I ask, setting my cards down.
"Well... I guess we can play one last thing before it gets late." Funny says.
"How about hide-and-seek? That's safe enough." Happy says, as he puts a flower crown of daisies on my head. He looks proud of himself, so I don't say anything about how I think I look stupid with a bunch of flowers on my head.
"Yes! Hide-and-Seek! Can I hide first?" I ask, excitedly getting up.
"Sure. Just don't pull anything like you did this morning, alright?" Funny laughs.
"Fine." I say.
As soon as Happy and Funny start counting, I quickly run off to find a hiding spot.
Just going inside the house would be unfair...
I can't hide in the forest, they're counting to 10 and it's too far away...
No chance Gerald would let me hide in his pen...
Ooh, the garden! A bunch of melon leaves just grew over everything and it's perfect!
I quickly dash over to the garden and hide within the mass of huge leaves that cover almost everything. The melon plant leaves almost make a tent over most of the other crops, it looks awesome! And I'm well-hidden, too. I can just sit here next to the carrots, potatoes, and other stuff and Happy and Funny won't find me.
Speaking of, I hear them finish counting and start to walk around looking for me. A few puns from Funny here and there about the places they're checking, but I stay quiet as they're far from where I am and I don't want to risk getting caught.
It soon starts to take a while for them to find me. Man, these guys are worse at hide-and-seek than Orange... and no offense to him, but he tried to use a lampshade as a hiding spot.
Oh hey, wait... I'm literally sitting in a hiding spot full of snacks. I didn't think about that when I hid here. Well, score!
I pick one of the carrots out of the ground and start eating it, watching through the gaps in the leaves as the two robots fail at finding me.
They've even started looking in places twice, like in the gazebo or at the back of the house. It's hilarious watching them confusedly keep looking around the Hub, Gerald occasionally messing with them by sneaking up and headbutting the backs of their legs.
I stop watching and look back down inside my hiding place, realizing I had eaten a bunch of carrots already, maybe like 17... whoops. Oh well.
Now bored, I look around while waiting for Happy and Funny to find me, but all that's here are more crops. I lightly poke a watermelon that was behind me, and it suddenly just cracks. That caught me a bit by surprise. Orange must have forgotten to pick this one or something when it was ripe. Huh... I guess I have some watermelon to snack on now.
I grab one of the three large pieces the melon cracked into and pull, the piece breaking off. I just focus on eating instead of watching the two robots try to find me, and had just finished the last piece when the leaves above me are pulled back. I look up, and it's Happy.
"So you've just been hiding in here and eating some of the crops like a little raccoon, huh?" Happy giggles.
"Not my fault you took a while to find me." I say, putting the melon rind with the other two I had cleaned off.
Happy laughs and picks me up out of the garden, and calls over to Funny,
"I found him!" Happy says.
"Oh, perfect. It was starting to get too dark out." Funny says.
Happy then turns back to me with a smile, carrying me as he heads towards the house.
"How about we go inside and get you some cooked food, huh?" Happy asks.
"Yes please." I smile.
Once inside the house, Happy sets me down next to the storage room door while Funny goes over to the bookshelf and starts looking at things.
"Alright, go and get your food. We'll be out here." Happy says.
"Wait, but Orange says I'm not allowed to go in the storage room on my own?" I ask, a bit confused.
"Well, Orange isn't here right now, is he?" Funny says from the living room. "We ain't snitches, go get as much as you want."
I smile, then run into the storage room and start picking out things.
—————————————————————————————————————
I'm sitting on the couch with Happy and Funny now, as they both read.
Just like the last time I picked food from the storage room alone, I don't think I could move even if I wanted to. It was still worth it though. Food's always worth it.
"You still awake, little buddy?" Happy giggles as he nudges me a little bit.
"Yeah- yeah, I am." I answer, still trying not to fall asleep.
"You're a lot easier to handle now." Funny laughs, picking me up and holding me. "Maybe we should just let you grab food first every time we come and babysit."
"Wh- babysit- I'm not a baby!" I say.
"Maybe, but you're small like one and need supervision at all times so we're still calling it babysitting." Happy says.
"M'not that small..." I reply, yawning.
Before I know it, I'm falling asleep. The last thing I hear is Happy and Funny quietly debating if it's Happy's turn to hold me too.
—————————————————————————————————————
"Hey, Sabre."
That's Orange's voice...
I slowly wake up on the couch, laid down with a blanket over me and holding my little plush. Sitting up, I still feel really sluggish. Ignoring it for now, I look to my left and Orange is there, smiling.
"Orange! You're back!" I say, leaning over and hugging him. Orange laughs and picks me up.
"Yep, I'm back, and I have a friend you need to meet with." Orange says. "How many rules did you three break while I was gone?"
"Uh- None of them." I answer.
"Gerald says otherwise." Orange says, looking down at the robot pig near his feet.
"Gerald, you snitch!" I exclaim, now also looking at him. I'm pretty sure Gerald is giving a smug grin.
"Did they really let you just root around in the storage room?" Orange sighs.
"...Maybe." I say. "Where did Happy and Funny go?"
"They went back to the village as soon as I got back, probably so they couldn't get in trouble." Orange says, rolling his eyes. "Anyway, we have something to do, so let's go."
Orange turns and walks out the door, carrying me still as we head to one of the portals. The blue one, strangely.
"Since you probably ate as much food as your tiny body would allow, I'm pretty sure you don't need any before we go, so just try to wake yourself up before we meet with him alright?" Orange says. "The stuff he wants to talk with you about is really important."
"Is it more prophecy stuff...?" I ask, rubbing my eye.
"Probably. Hopefully it's not too boring." Orange chuckles as we reach the portal.
The blue portal lights up, and a few lightning strikes happen occasionally as Orange stands in front of it. As always, Orange tightens his grip on me a little bit as he starts to run through.
"Hang on, little buddy!" Orange says as he quickly approaches the portal.
Soon, I feel everything change around us, as we're once again taken to a new place.
