Chapter I - Sokovia

"Shit!" Tony's voice was heard over the comms and Alyssa chuckled at her father's choice of words.

"Language!" Captain America scolded him as he drew his motorcycle over the snow-veiled ground, kicking the HYDRA soldiers and hitting people with his shield causing them to get knocked out.

Alyssa was currently standing at Natasha's side, kicking and punching soldiers, shooting them, and helping Natasha out whenever too many soldiers came at once.

She was handling herself pretty well when Cap's voice rang in her left ear.

"JARVIS, what's the view from upstairs?" he asked as Tony tried to find a way inside the base.

"The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken," JARVIS replied.

"Loki's scepter must be here. Strucker couldn't mouth this defense without it. At long last," Thor declared as he threw his hammer at the soldiers.

"At long last is lasting a little long boys," Natasha commented as she helped Alyssa knock out the HYDRA soldiers. They separated, and Alyssa went over to Clint, who was trying to stop a bunker's shooting behind a tree.

"Yeah, I think we lost the element of surprise," he said and shot another arrow at the bunker.

"Oh, really?" Alyssa asked sarcastically as she broke a guy's neck. "What gave it away?"

"Wait a minute, is no one gonna deal with the fact that Cap just said 'language'?" Tony pointed out and Alyssa laughed, which he smiled at.

"I know," Cap said. "It just slipped."

"He's an old man, he can't help it," Alyssa commented, which earned a 'watch it, little Stark' from fellow captain. Suddenly, Clint got flipped; right into the shooting line of the bunker.

"You didn't see that coming?" a man asked, seemingly appearing out of nowhere.

He had silver hair, eyes that shone like diamonds, and a strong accent that Alyssa couldn't quite place. She would've guessed Sokovian but was way too distracted by his handsome face.

Gosh. Why is he one of the bad guys? He's way to good looking for that...

Her thoughts got interrupted by the mystery guy speeding off again.

Oh no hot stuff, you ain't going anywhere.

Alyssa placed her foot in front of him and had a satisfied smile on her face as she heard a small 'oof' from beneath her.

"Hello there, handsome," she said, smirking down at him. He just stared at her with a cocky smile, but before he could reply, a pained shout reached her ears. Alyssa whipped her head around and in that split moment the blonde got back up, grabbed Alyssa by the waist and spun her around before running off.

"What the-" she clutched her ringing head, trying not to stumble as she slowly ran back to Clint. He was clutching his side, blood coating the white snow beneath him. Alyssa threw herself on the ground next to him just as Natasha arrived.

"We have an enhanced in the field," Steve mentioned, his breath heavy.

"Guys, Clint's hit!" Nat said and started to treat his wound, well, as well as you can treat an alien-weapon shot in the middle of the forest with soldiers trying to kill you.

"Ugh, somebody deal with that bunker!" Alyssa yelled. It was still shooting and it started to get annoying. Soon the Hulk came and went straight through it, smashing it to pieces.

"Thank you," Natasha said quietly.

"Stark, we really need to get inside," Cap said over the comms.

"I'm closing in," Tony said, blasting several soldiers. "JARVIS, am I... closing in? Do you see a power source for that shield?" he asked.

"There's a particle wave below the north tower," JARVIS answered.

"Great, I wanna poke it with something."

Tony flew to the north tower, successfully shutting down the shield by blowing up the source. "The drawbridge is down, people. Ally, come help me here."

"The enhanced?" Thor asked as Steve ran up to him.

"Clint's hit pretty bad guys, we're gonna need to evac," Natasha interrupted over the comms after sending Alyssa off to her father.

"I can get Barton to the jet. The sooner we're gone, the better. You and the Starks secure the scepter," Thor said and took off.

"And for gosh sake, watch your language!" Tony said over the comms, mocking Steve.

"That's not going away anytime soon," Cap sighed.

"Nope," Alyssa confirmed as she and Tony flew into the control room. She was behind him, grasping onto his suit as the people in the room started shooting.

"Guys, stop. We gotta talk this through," Tony said, and with that, he started shooting at every person individually.

Not even a second later everyone in the room except Alyssa and Tony was laying on the ground.

"That was a good talk, dad."

They went down to the computer room where a guy was deleting data on the computer. As soon as he noticed Alyssa and Tony, he tried to say something, but was cut off by Tony blasting him back. "Sentry mode," he said and went over to where Alyssa already stood.

"Okay, JARVIS, you know. I want it all. Make sure you copy Hill at HQ."

"We're locked down out here," Natasha said over comms, watching  the HYDRA soldiers being arrested by the Iron Legion.

"Then go get banner. It's time for a lullaby," Cap responded.

"I know you're hiding more than files," Tony suddenly said, making Alyssa look up from the computer. She was becoming distracted by a specific file but decided to let it go after her father spoke up. "Hey, J, give us an IR scan of the room real quick," she said and JARVIS scanned the walls.

"The wall to your left. I'm reading steel reinforcement. And an air current."

"Please be a secret door. Please be a secret door. Please be a secret door," Tony muttered and pushed his arms against the heavy stone wall.

"Yay," Alyssa and Tony cheered, making their way toward a dark tunnel.

"Guys, I got Strucker," Steve said, and his voice rang in the Starks' ears as they approached a room.

"Yeah. We got...something bigger," Tony commented as he and his daughter caught sight of that giant alien robot-animal thing from New York's attack.

"Dad," Alyssa nudged her father and he turned to look where his daughter pointed; Loki's scepter.

"Thor," he began, addressing Thor over the comms. "I got eyes on the prize."

They slowly stalked closer, stepping over junk and other unrecognizable stuff laying on the floor. The shimmer of the scepter was reflecting off the walls around them, their faces morphed and distorted in the glowing stone. Intrigued by the radiant blue, Alyssa took another step forward.

With a furrowed brow she inspected the orb, a gasp leaving her when she made out the two figures lurking behind her. Spinning around to alert her father, she was repulsed when she saw his unseeing eyes, her own vision soon clouded by red slivers of fog.

Alyssa could only hear her breath leaving her mouth in shaky puffs. The air around her was cold and clammy, and the ground beneath her was slippery. Forcing herself to look down, she took a big gulp when she was met with dark puddles of blood.

Now running, she tried to find her way out of... wherever the hell she was.

"Hello?" she shouted, her voice echoing through the empty hallways.

She rounded a corner, abruptly coming to a halt.

"Hello," said the young girl standing in front of her, her black hair pulled back into a messy braid.

"H-hi," Alyssa walked towards her, but she faded into thin air before her eyes.

"Ugh!" she leaned her head against the stone wall, closing her eyes.

Whatever this is, it's not real... it's not-

"Alyssa?"

Turning around to face the new voice, she realized she was also in a new room. This one had furniture, at least, with a sofa backed against the far wall and dirty windows shielded by iron bars at the back.

"Oh, Alyssa!" said the voice, almost tauntingly.

"So fascinating... remarkable, truly."

Alyssa's vision got clouded once more and she was powerless against the voices floating around her.

"How much you've grown!"

"Behave!"

"Don't worry, soon this will all be over..."

Her vision began to darken completely, the last thing she saw being that girl from the corridor, covered in blood, happily playing a game with another girl right beside her.

Grasping her head, she finally stepped out of the vision, a very concerned Tony gently grasping her by the arms.

"Ally, are you okay?" Tony asked and Alyssa looked at him. He looked devastated... scared, even.

"Yeah. I'm-" she cleared her throat, "okay," she said, refusing from letting her voice quiver. Tony looked at her intensely before stretching his hand out, grasping the scepter with his iron suit hand.

Looking at the corner where she saw the girl and the blonde from earlier, she left the room with her father; never once speaking a word to each other.
