Ch.2 Way out
~Y/n pov~
"All seventeen of us have gathered..." Kirumi commented.
"We need to be cautious." Keebo said.
Kokichi faked a sniffle, "D-don't say that...I'm so scared....I don't know what to do..."
"There is no need to worry." Angie smiled, "Atua will protect us."
"Phew! That's a relief." Kokichi smiled.
"Is your brain full of weeds or somethin'?" Miu growled, "I'll whack 'em outta that skull of yours!"
"Shut up cow tits!" I smiled.
She shrunk back in fear, "Heeee!?"
"If those teddy bears show up again, I'll kick their asses!" Kaito yelled.
Does he even have a brain?
There was a weird noise that was gradually getting louder.
"What's that noise?" Gonta was one of the first to notice it.
"Sounds like an engine from a robot anime.." Tsumugi said.
Five robots popped up, "Rise and shine, ursine!"
Tsumugi let out a scream.
Kokichi was admiring them with sparkling eyes, "Woahhhhhh! So cool."
"Those are pretty cool.." I commented.
Kokichi grinned, "Right?"
"They're exisals - highly mobile, bipedal weapons platforms!" The blue one told us.
"Wh-whatever they are, they better kill off the uggos first and save me for last." Miu whined.
Kokichi smirked, "Run, Himiko!"
I chuckled.
"Nyeh.." she looked confused, clearly not getting what he was imply, "Why are you concerned for me all of a sudden?"
Rantaro walked up the to exisals, "So...what do you want from us?"
He was strangely calm.
"Well aren't you a wise guy?" The yellow one asked.
"It's a..."
The green one cut them off, "Killing-game."
All of them started fighting.
I back away slightly as to not get in the way, grabbing onto Kokichi's sleeve and also pulling him back.
He didn't say anything but allowed himself to be pulled back.
A new voice rang out, "My cute little Cubs...You gotta knock off this awful fighting..."
"Father?" Monotaro yelled.
The lights in the gym suddenly turned off.
I shuffled further to Kokichi nervously, holding onto his wrist.
His hot breath hit my ears, "What's this? You scared of the dark?"
"So what if I am?" I whispered back.
He chuckled cutely, patting my head to comfort me.
The light turned back on, and I let go of his wrist before anyone noticed, though we were both stood pretty close together.
A black and white bear appeared on the podium, "I am God of this new world and the headmaster of the ultimate academy! The one and only, Monokuma!"
There's another one?
"Another teddy bear appeared?" Kaede asked.
"Woah woah woah!" Monokuma's eye glinted red, "I'm no teddy bear...I'm Monokuma!"
"What do you want?" Rantaro glared.
Monokuma laughed, "I want you students with your Ultimate-level talents to participate in a killing game."
"K-killing game? Us?" Kaede was startled.
Everyone was startled to be honest, though some were better at hiding it than others.
"Well, at least this won't be boring!" I beamed.
Most of the others game me disturbed looks.
"Right?" Kokichi agreed.
"Are you giving us weapons?" Ryoma asked.
"Weapons? Huh?" Monokuma asked, "The killing game is far more sophisticated aaaaand, we'll be having fun class trials!"
"Class trials?" Kirumi asked.
"Let's explain." Monotaro exclaimed.
"Alright, so if one of you maggots kills someone, you all gotta take part in a class trial."
"The class trial is where the blackened killer faces off against their spotless classmates."
"After you've had a debate, it's voting time! And if the majority of you idiots vote correctly..."
"Th-then only the blackened killer will receive pu-pu-punishment."
"After the blackened is punished, the rest of you will keep on living together."
"But! If you vote for the wrong person during the class trial...The blackened gets off scot-free, and all the spotless get punished instead."
Monokuma concluded, "The point is, killing someone isn't just enough, you also have to survive the class trial."
"What is this punishment you speak of?" Korekiyo asked.
"It's an execution of course!"

"Why don't we all work together and try to find an exit?" Kaede asked.
"Did you not see the big cage that surrounds us?" I joked.
"Right, I checked and there are no gaps." Keebo agreed.
"There must be an opening somewhere." Kaede stayed optimistic, " Let's not fight each other. We're gonna work together!"
Everyone was silent.
Kaede scratched her cheek, "Did I say something wrong?"
"No, we were rendered speechless." Kirumi was the first to respond.
Kaito quickly agreed, "I was gonna say the same thing, you beat me to it."
"Ok! Let's split up and search." Angie exclaimed.
"Oh wait!" Gonta exclaimed.
"What? We were just about to leave." Himiko complained.
"Gonta see giant manhole, think it may be important."
I mentally facepalmed.
"Gonta peek in and seek big underground tunnel, think maybe exit."
"You gotta mention important stuff like that much sooner!" Tenko exclaimed.
Gonta repeated what he said quicker.
"That's not what I meant!"
"Gonta, lead us there." I demanded.
"Okay!" Gonta smiled and started walking off.
Everyone slowly started following him.
I stayed near the back and Kokichi slowed down to talk to me.
"Do you think there's really an exit?" He tilted his head curiously.
I scoffed, "No way, even if there is...it's probably a trap. It can't be that easy."
Kokichi nodded, "We should just go along with everyone anyway."
"Hmm...but isn't working together the opposite of what Monokuma wants?" I continued to explain, "He wants us to kill each other and no one would die if we were all getting along."
Kokichi stayed silent for a few moments, "Geez...you're right...so, what's your real talent?"
I chuckled, "Oh so you noticed? It's a secret...you can guess all you want though. Maybe I'll tell you."
Kokichi then proceeded to guess random things, though none of them were right.
"Seems you've run out of time." I commented as we reached the boiler room.
~*~
"An important hole near a bush?! Sounds familiar, am I right ladies?" Miu laughed at her own joke.
Everyone shifted uncomfortable.
"Silence you embarrassment." I retorted.
"Heee?! Yes M'am." Miu whimpered.
"Geez." I rested one of my hands on my hip, "She's such a coward."
Kokichi laughed, "You go!"
"This manhole cover looks heavy, can we even lift it?" Angie asked.
"I can try." Keebo pulled on the cover but to no avail.
Angie pushed her cheeks up, "Huh? Not even a robot is strong enough to lift it?"
"My physical strength is approximate to that of a strong senior citizen." Keebo told us proudly.
"That's..." I smiled at him, "Really pathetic."
Keebo's face dropped.
Gonta picked up the cover with ease, "Upsy daisy."
He flung it aside and I'm surprised he didn't hit anyone.
"How truly terrifying. With that strength, he could easily crush a child's skull." Korekiyo told us.
"Gonta not crush anyone's skull. Gonta gentleman!" Gonta yelled.
I peered down to see there was indeed an underground passage, and there was even a ladder leading down.
This is way too convenient.
~*~
There was a sign that said exit.
"This has to be a trap.." I commented.
There was this obstacle course and at the end was supposedly the exit, but clearing this, was close to impossible.
We'd all wake up back where we started, everytime with more and more injuries.
Kaede tried to encourage everyone, "We can't give up! This time we'll..."
Kokichi cut her off, "..Knock it off already."
He was looking down, a shadow covering his eyes.
"Huh?"
"You're free to keep trying but, forcing us to join you is basically torture." He was obviously injured but he was definitely making it seem more extreme.
He had pretty good reflexes so he was one of the few people with barely any injuries.
"You know what hurts?" Fake tears welled up in his eyes, "Being denied the right to give up in an impossible situation! You won't let us give up and no matter what we say, you have the moral high ground."
Kaede was shocked.
"That doesn't sound like torture to you?"
"He's right, you know." I actually felt a bit bad for Kaede, "We're all injured and exhausted...I don't think we can clear this."
Kokichi nodded, "Let's find another way out."
"You're talking about the killing game..aren't you?" Rantaro asked.
"You can interpret it like that if you want." Kokichi smiled mischievously, any signs he was in pain gone.
A nighttime announcement went off and one by one everyone left.
We all had our own dorms. Mine was on the top floor, right at the end, next to Kokichi's.
"See you tomorrow." I said to Kokichi before entering my room.
"Yeah..."
~*~
I woke up and did my morning routine, before heading to the dining room.
Only a few people were there.
Ryoma was sat on one of the tables by himself and Kirumi was in the kitchen.
There were footsteps behind me, a hand grabbed my arm and dragged me to sit down.
"Oh? Kokichi?"
He hummed, sitting beside me, in his hand, a grape panta.
"That your favourite?" I asked.
He smiled, "Yeah."
Kirumi stood in front of us and placed down a plate of pancakes in front of both of us.
My eyes sparkled, "Thanks."
I immediately dug in, Kokichi doing the same.
Eventually, everyone had arrived.
"By the way...are you okay Kaede?" There was a mischievous glint in Kokichi's eyes.
I kept silent and decided to see how this played out.
"Huh?" She asked, "What do you mean?"
"Well...you looked really bummed out yesterday when everyone started blaming you." Kokichi grinned.
"What are you.."
Kokichi cut Tsumugi off, "Seriously, you guys are so mean..."
Tenko frowned, "You blamed Kaede first you degenerate male."
"Now it's my fault? Why are you all ganging up on me?" Crocodile tears flooded out of his eyes, "WAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! You guys are terrible! So horrible, so mean!"
Ryoma was having none of it, "You're too noisy. Cut it out!"
Kokichi immediately stopped crying.
"But seriously, it's true. Everyone blamed Kaede yesterday without taking any responsibility theirselves." Kaito pointed out.
"Everyone was probably jut tired." Rantaro defended.
"I'm sorry. I should've been more considerate of everyone else's feelings. I was too focused on the tunnel.." Kaede apologised.
I laughed, "You're really something...I wouldn't take back anything I said yesterday honestly. But you apologised just like that.."
Kaede smiled softly.
"Phew! So everything's okay now!" Kokichi beamed.
"But you did blame her first didn't you?" Keebo glared at him.
"That's was just a lie...y'know to get us all united and stuff.." Kokichi smiled, "Did you know half my lies are told with good intentions?"
"Now that sounds like a lie." Himiko said.
"You're all really guillable." I commented.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Shuichi asked.
"Did any of you catch any of my lies? I've lied so much I've lost count of how many times I've lied." I laughed.
"W-what?"
"Are you being serious?"
I chuckled at their dumbfounded expressions.
"What if I told you I lied about my talent?" I asked with a cheerful voice.
"S-seriously?!" Kaito exclaimed.
"Of course I knew it was a lie! I am a liar after all." Kokichi beamed.
"Then, what is your talent?" Angie asked.
"Oh? You're curious? Well too bad." I laughed, "It's a secret."
~*~
Monokuma suddenly appeared, "I have an announcement!"
Tsumugi screamed and jumped back.
"Oh sorry! I didn't mean to not surprise you."
Kaede frowned, "So you meant to surprise us."
"So anyway! I figured I'd give you a motive to help ease you into the killing game!" Monokuma said cheerfully.
"Motivation to kill?" Maki asked.
"Now then, the special motive I've prepared is called the First Blood Perk. This means that for the first killing that occurs, there will be no class trial! Can you believe it?" Monokuma chuckled darkly, "The first killer can graduate, no strings attached."
The Monokubs popped up and one of the exisals crushed Monokuma.
"That was short lived." I joked.
"There is probably a spare." Kirumi speculated.
Kokichi quickly dismissed that, "If there's no final boss then there's no killing game!"
"I don't think so." Rantaro said.
The purple haired boy ignored him, "With the mastermind gone, continuing the game is impossible."
I could tell he was lying through his teeth.
