The sides sat there patiently, Roman tapping his foot so harshly against the floor that it was given to drive Logan mad. Patton was...more quiet than usual. Maybe because he didn't have the energy to cheer anybody up.
None of the sides could even fathom the thought, but... what if Anxiety never...woke up? Sure each of the sides have had their own problems with him, but in the grand scheme of things Anxiety kept Thomas grounded.
Roman regretted every insult he had ever told him when that thought spread across his mind.
"Guys...what if he actually doesn't wake up?" Princey asked, looking to the ground. He needed Anxiety.
Patton moved closer to Roman, rubbing his back soothingly. "I promise you, I will not let anything happen to my kiddo!"
Roman smiled sadly, thankful for the kindness of Patton. But despite his kindness, he couldn't keep the doubtful thoughts out of his head. Was this how Anxiety felt? Had he done nothing to help him?
Logan suddenly made a jolt, causing the others to look at him strangely. "Roman...Patton, I think he is becoming conscious once again."
Roman immediately put all focus on the anxious side, desperate to see some sort of life in him. Logan was right, and they all couldn't be grateful enough for it. His eyes were drooping open, slowly but surely, until finally deciding to stay that way.
"Anxiety!" Roman and Patton both squeeled, rushing to him. Never had Roman thought he'd be this excited to see him.
Anxiety looked up, his eyebrow raised. "Why are you guys screeching like idiots?"
Patton hugged him of course, almost choking him with the tightness of the embrace. "My dark strange son! I missed you!"
Anxiety laughed awkwardly, patting him on the shoulder. "Thank you? Can you explain what happened please?"
Despite asking a question, the sides decided to ignore it for the moment. Roman came up to him, hugging him warmly, causing Anxiety's breath to hitch. "You passed out you Emo Nightmare! If you ever do that again I'll take away your MCR music, and make up, and come up with even worse nicknames for you, Wednesday Adams!"
Anxiety laughed and hugged back, confused as to why the prince suddenly cared so much. "Don't think I can help it, prince charming."
Logan suddenly sat up and coughed, breaking the moment. "Yes, it's nice to have you back, Anxiety. I...we missed you a lot. But, Thomas seems to be...in a hiccup. Read the messages on your phones."
The other sides read the texts, a frown formed on Patton's face, "Oh no! We just left Thomas out of this!"
Logan nodded, for some reason feeling nervous. "We should go check on him. Anxiety, do you have enough energy to see Thomas?"
Anxiety bit his lip, causing Roman to worry a bit. They shouldn't force him to do anything he wasn't ready for. "Dearest emo, don't go if you don't feel well enough! We do not want you to pass out again!"
Anxiety smiled shyly, he admits he wasn't used to his kindess but... He enjoyed it. "Okay. I'll stay here for the moment."
Roman grinned calmly, finally feeling at ease, being able to trust he was okay. "Okay."
