When Samantha Donlan took on an offer to join her best friend and his family for a summer at their house in Cousins Beach, Massachusetts for the months leading up to her senior year of high school, she jumped at the chance for days spent in the sun with a good book, and the moments she'd never remember in the nights she'd never forget. What she hadn't expected was a summer getting to know the boy who'd spent years crashing their sleepovers and parties, only to come to a crashing halt just when things began to seem too good to be true.

Now, when Sam gets a call two years later from a voice nearly forgotten that her best friend's gone missing, she jumps at the chance to help make things right between a pair of brothers who have long since gone their separate ways. However, when a wild goose chase to track down Conrad Fisher turns into a last ditch effort to save the house that changed them all, Sam learns that, while everything can change in an instant, some things never really change at all.
