ONE. MIRRORBALL

How does one pretend that they're okay when they feel like at any given moment they will have a breakdown? To pretend that nothing had occured in the past knowing so damn well that you will see that person whose heart you broke? For Taylor Wolff being back in the UK isn't the easiest thing to do.

Two years are a long time, specially if you had no contact with those around you, when you escaped to a small town in the United States and focus on your own life, your future. But things change and everything needs to be back on reality, Taylor knew that, so there she was, watching the plane land back into the United Kingdom, she had her phone in her hands, fully charged and every notification blowing up, she knew why, someone on this plane knew her, a photo had been taken, and her fan pages were making it viral.

At any given moment her phone would start buzzing with calls, dad, mom, pr managers, and her closest friends but honestly, Taylor only wanted to talk to one person, ignoring every message, her brown eyes searched for an specific contact, and with a swift location she opened the imessages.

Where are you?

In the parking lot, Steven will go and find you, don't worry.

A wave of tranquility kept her body calm, hurrying through the crowd the brunette was out the airport her eyes scanning through the faces hoping the familiar face would appear.

"Miss Wolff, you're home." The strong British accent made Taylor's heart flutter, Steven had a smile on his lips, she knew him for years, for Taylor, Steven was almost a uncle. "You ready to leave Miss?" He asked looking down at the woman who stood in front of him. "Mr. Davidson is waiting for you in the car, let me help you with that." Taking the two suitcases from her he began walking away towards the parking lot across the street.

A few people recognized the artist, some asked for photos and Taylor's heart hurt with every reject saying she was in a hurry but waved them as she knew they could be recording her. Her steps were quick, locating the black suv she had been so many times got her smiling widely, the backseat door opened and the male figured walked out.

"If it isn't our runaway singer." The british accent was heard, his bright smile decorating his dark features, his arms opened wide letting the brunette rush into his arms.

"Lewis." Taylor said wrapping her figure around his. "I've missed you a lot, you have no idea."

"I've missed you too, the good thing is that your back." He slowly pulled her away to look at her face. "Now, we need to get you home, your parents are waiting."

"You called them?"

"Of course I did, your Toto is excited to have you back, but he is also pretty mad Tay, you could've told them you know." The guilt quickly hit her, he had a point, and it was something she had thought of.

"I didn't want more people to know, you were the only one, and I thank you that you didn't say a word." Getting inside the vehicle Lewis followed along, continuing their conversation in the backseat. "I am sorry I put you on such a difficult spot Lewis, specially with my Dad, he didn't give you hard years in the track?"

"Nothing harder than what I am used to." Shrugging it off Lewis smiled again taking Taylor's hand in his. "But now you are here, everything will be better."

"Are you sure? I don't even know if I can go back after... you know." Lewis squeezed gently her hand, the guilt build up again, she wanted to know, but at the same time, she wanted to move on.

"Don't think about that now, one thing at a time, first, go home with your family, relax and try to make ammends with your parents, then work with happens next." Lewis' warmth made Taylor's body calm down, his kind smile brought her peace, and he had a point, she should focus on one thing first. She knew she needed it.

Home, Taylor was scared of going back, she hadn't talked to her parents or siblings, they knew she was alive because Lewis told them, but there was no sign that came from her. She expected and understood if they grounded her with not leaving the house for the next two years or with something like not being able to release her music or go on tour, something just to keep her home.

The Wolff's residence came into view, Taylor rolled down her window letting her head stick out, breathing in the fresh air of grass and rain, perhaps coming back home wasn't such a bad idea.

"Are you going to come inside with me or did you only become my Uber driver, sort of." Taylor questioned her friend who smiled shaking his head down.

"You're doing this alone love, if you come around the tracks, visit me okay?" Lewis answered with a question where Taylor's response was just a nod. "Well, this is you, now go on, they are waiting for you." The vehicle came to a stop on the entrance, Steven got out and helped the brunette with her belongings, with a goodbye hug they left her.

With her head high and with the nerves spiked Taylor walked towards the entry door, she didn't bring her keys so her finger made her way towards the ringer, for some odd reason she didn't press it instantly, she didn't press it at all instead she watched the door opened and the most caring face looking at her.

There were no words exchanged but only the embrace of a worried mother seeing her daughter again, Taylor missed this, she missed her mother and if she would've let it, the tears would've already escaped.

"You're finally home my girl." Susie's voice was soft and sweet, it was music to Taylor's ears. "Don't let this happen again please," her embrace was pushed back letting both women look at each other. "You don't get to do this again, you promise me that."

"Oh, don't worry about that Susie, I'm making sure our daughter doesn't run away again." Taylor instantly knew she was in trouble, no idea on her punishment, but she wasn't going to argue. "Inside, now." Both parents stood aside, the brunette with her head a bit low she made her way into their home, rushing down the stairs her young siblings screaming her name and greeting her with wide arms to later be wrapped around her waist and legs.

"Tay, we missed you so much." Jack said happily as he hang on to her. The soft words in the sweet tone made Taylor's heart warm and ache, she had left them as well.

"Kids, please go to your rooms, I need to speak with your sister." Toto ordered his kids who didn't hesitate and just did as told rushing upstairs telling the girl that they had new toys to show her. "Taylor, you have a lot of explaining to do, you know that right?"

"Yes father, but I can't just do it yet, I will tell you why I left and why I didn't say anything, but not right now."

"Is it something I should worry about?" Taylor shook her head at him. "Okay, since you've lost my trust, you're staying under my watch, you're coming with me everywhere, and I got you an open spot in the Mercedes team, you will not focus on your career now until I decide it's time, you've lost your privileges for two months, understood?"

"Yes sir."

"Good, you'll start working with the social media team next week." With nothing else said by her father, Toto left the room, leaving Taylor panicking, she had managed to hide the emotion from her face, she imagined something like that would happen, but not so soon, she wasn't ready to be back into that garage, into the paddocks. Back to the probability of seeing him again.

Taylor Wolff knows it, she must learn how to avoid him, or maybe to apologize? But everything at its time.
